A loved one was transported here by ambulance and over two hours later has still not been seen by a doctor. That is completely unacceptable for an emergency room. When we tried to get information, we spoke with someone named Cheyenne, whose demeanor and attitude were awful--cold, dismissive, and lacking even basic compassion. No empathy, no helpful communication, nothing you would expect when families are scared and waiting for care. This is the worst ER experience our family has ever had, and it is incredibly disheartening to see such a lack of urgency and humanity in a medical setting. No one should be treated this way during a medical emergency.

Once they finally believed me and released me I had to go to Griffin Medical Center to get the help I STILL NEEDED, where I was treated in a DOCTORS OFFICE and released the same DAY. Family member held overnight at the direction of Surgeon ended up getting a $3600 bill because the hospital classified the stay as "outpatient admission" instead of impatient. The doctor directed the stay and we were confident the admission would be classified as inpatient. Make sure you check how you or your family member are classified if use this place for surgery and have to stay overnight otherwise, you'll get caught with a surprise big bill. There needs to be some regulatory oversight of hospitals that employ these "lie by omission" type business practices.

I will be clear in stating that my experience here is as a family of a patient. My father was brought here for a very serious infection and reminded inside a room (two if you count the time he spent in ICU) for an entire week. I didn't know what to expect when I made the trip down to see him (I live out of town), but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. Now I will tell you that this place is off the beaten path. I swore GPS was lying to me as I made one quick turn after another. But it wasn't. The parking lot is all in front the hospital so that's not hard to locate and it is free. The place is small and a bit dated, but the team here was extremely friendly. The nurses I spoke with, the Patient Representative that stopped by, the dietitian, and the NP's that came to do a few things while I was there all were willing to answer any questions and listen to anything my father had to say (which can be a lot). They took care of my mother when she came by for supper every night and the gift shop has all the basics (just no real flowers). Honestly, if I lived in the area this is where I would come. It feels more like home than most and it has all of the same services larger hospitals in the area offer. I am extremely grateful for their care of my father.

I will try not to be too long-winded but I must be honest and thorough…read more I brought my dad here 2 weeks ago due to him feeling as though he may have had a stroke. We made it to the ER at roughly 5:30PM. He was seen in Imaging within 2 min of walking in. After x-rays and CT scans, it was determined he did not have a stroke or heart attack. We were moved to the ER holding area where we were seated in what they call "stalls". The ER Doctor finally comes through and asks a series of questions about heart history. He later tells us he could not go home due to a low heart rate. So we were moved to an actual room at 2:30 AM. Yes, we arrived at 5:30PM! We were exhausted Finally got a room on the main floor. It took 4 days for them to confirm it was Heart Disease. The nurses and techs were nice but some did not come in until an hour or so after their shift. As you know they're working 12hr shifts. Understand they're to get vitals throughout the night but the way they barged into the room with the carts was disrespectful. Mind you they're coming in every 2 hours or so. Communication was very poor. I found myself running behind them for answers. As I stated before it took 4 days before we knew what was causing his kidneys to collapse. I am my dad's point of contact but the nurses and techs were discussing my dad's condition with his siblings. I informed them several times that they are not to discuss any information with them. I guess HIPAA did not matter It was later discovered he was allergic to the CHG wipes. He had a very bad allergic reaction. The nurse was called she looked at us as though she did not understand. I asked that something be done right away. She noted she would contact the doctor The tech came in stated this was unacceptable and that the head nurse should be contacted. The head nurse requested ointment and Benadryl. The nurse had my dad waiting until the 2nd shift came in. If the head nurse had not been notified, the allergic reaction could have been worse I would like to commend the techs Candace, Shelly Ann, Davina, and Heather. They were very attentive and kind. I would like to commend the following nurses: Lillian and Brandon. They were very professional, caring, knowledgeable, and attentive. Very proactive! Emory has taken over Houston Medical Center but it's like they have the name Emory but the work product is not Emory standards. It's NOTHING like Emory in Atlanta This hospital has a long way to go. The rooms definitely need renovations. The walls are overdue for painting and the floors need a thorough cleaning
