My guidance counselor told my parents that I had a low IQ, I tested low on ACT's and SAT's, and I'd never make it to college. Not once did those guidance counselors pull me aside and actually try to understand my life. I was living my life in survival mode dealing with trauma after trauma yet your counselors never picked up on that, instead they called me dumb. I graduated cum laude and made the deans list multiple times while receiving my bachelors. I truly hope your counselors are better educated now and will actually help students instead of calling them dumb.

Now my daughter is having trouble in math and again they are no help I stay up til 9 or 10 every night with my child helping and going over her math with her, so its not that I am not trying. I had to call the superintendent of Klein isd to finally get a call back within an hour of speaking with the superintendents office I got a call from the principal. Kleb enforces dumb rules such as a ban of keychains on IDs because they can't "see the id". The dress code also sucks here. It's not enforced on you if you're popular trendy white (or a black kid pulling your pants below your ahh), but if you dress alternative or POC, it's placed upon you. I have seen shorts so short I could see butt cheeks but you can apparently get dressed coded for a tail. A lot of teachers SUCK. Whether it's creepy teachers or teachers that don't teach, most suck in some way. You do however, have like 12 good teachers, but those are usually for CTE,Fine Arts, or social studies. The Staff suck the most though. They can't do their job properly. Most students feel unheard. They tend to ignore reports that students make when uncomfortable of a teacher, and even if they try, blame is immediately put on the student.In May, a lot of Klein ISD schools were recognizing Mental Health Month, and Kleb completely ignored it and only celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week (which there is not much to appreciate). Teachers have seen students struggling (like if a student has visible cuts from self harm) and nothing is done. The school is also sorta homophobic. There was a gym teacher that wouldn't let my friends hug or sit close together because they were gay. Subtle bullying is also a problem here. Some kids think they rule because of their skin color or their trendiness. They make fun of other kids for things like hair color, sexuality, gender, fashion style, pronouns , etc. Please avoid this school at all costs. You"re better off homeschooling or sending them somewhere else. Even though they have high grades, safety is more important then education.

They are trying to hold students back from graduating with their classmates in June and telling these students who got the hours "oh you can always graduate in August" who wants to do that? No one. This is insane and unbelievable, you guys suck and need to do better. Organize better and communicate better. These staff members don't think about the students they only think about themselves and what they want to stuff their faces with for lunch. This year (2024) has been the WORST year for Klein Oak and klein isd period. I came to klein because my mom's friend told her that klein schools were great!! klein schools suck. they say they have a great education system, okay yeah maybe for some kids but most kids can't even tell the difference between a state and a country.That same friend has recently took her kid out of the district because of the RACISM , not only from the students but from the STAFF too. Some fights and people are using illicit contraband in the restrooms. From what I heard, the athletics experience may vary depending on the sport. Library resources are plentiful, but they recently took the PC's away. School lunch is passable, to say the least. Fine arts and college readiness programs were decent, though! The U.S. Air Force JROTC program was engaging and had a plethora of activities. However, the animation curriculum and preparing for UIL was satisfactory at best. The teacher wasn't really knowledgeable about anything other than the Animation 1/Digital Media curriculum, so expect to do assignments and projects on your own if you plan to progress through Animation 2 and beyond. If participating in UIL film, be prepared to do everything YOURSELF, as some teachers do not have adequate knowledge to help you with UIL competitions here.

The education system in this school had declined so much due to the negligence of academics and the focus on what makes them look good. For example, track and field makes the school look amazing because of all the great people that participate, but because of that the other sports available don't get as much attention. Then there is this whole thing with threats and safety in traffic (kids getting run over by buses) and they have had very unprofessional staff members, such as Teacher Taylor (unemployed now), who should have gotten fired in the first place for the first explicit content created on their social media, but they waited to discontinue their contract at the end of the year they would even play explicit music in the classroom. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARED ON THE POT. These kids are handing out vapes in locker rooms like preschoolers and candy on Valentine's Day?? Like... then there is a lot of PDA and sexual content spread around the school. There was a whole thing about a girl getting impregnated, and I think they kicked her out (that was a rumor I don't know for sure). In my 6th grade year, we had a girl bring adult beverages to school 2 times, and they already knew that it was her, and she did it again. Also, the dress code needs to be addressed. If the kid breaking the dress code is an athlete, or known for having mental issues, the kid does NOT get in trouble, and another issue is the AP's acting like they are doing everything right, but when they do something they blame it on the kids. For example, Ms. Scott was ALWAYS yelling at the kids for stupid stuff, like switching seats at school, like hello you want us to socialize, but you say we can't have phones (before the new law). Then you said we could socialize at lunch and then made sure we couldn't switch seats. Oh, and then, when they messed up on my map testing, they tried to lie to my parents and I were saying that I was cheating, which was a lie, and I was not going to put up with that, because I had an amazing conduct record, so I told them that I was not going to take the test unless they tell me what is actually going on, and they told me that they accidentally gave me an extra accombidaton that I didn't even know about or know how to use, and I would have been fine with that reasponce, but it's the fact that they treid to cover their own asses by lieing and when they finnaly told me the truth they took me to the office and sat me down and a room where Mr. Strang started to yell at me ... like... Hello?? What you want me to do is to apologize for Klein's mistake NO, but I get it everyone makes mistakes? Then there was another issue with kids cheating on their tests, like QSEs and shit I'm sorry if you are a parent and reading this right now. I know your child has to go to public school, but for your kids' safety, especially physically, just send them to Dorree or something, because this place needs to get shut down for P. S. If you're thinking about EDUCATION here, it is not all the teachers' fault. It is mostly the disruptions in the learning environment that other kids cause, but it LITERALLY SUCKS because it's SO HARD TO FOCUS. The average star score at an 8th grade level at this school is below the district and state average.
