Eventually, they said the great Dane mix would not be a fit. Before that happened we purchased three day trips for each dog & we never got around to using them because since they couldn't board all three dogs, we found another kennel... (Check out wagon train in Irmo... Great place! ) Anyway, I contacted them recently to see if they could take the two dogs for an overnight and utilize the money we spent in good faith. We were never informed that there was an expiration date to using the doggy daycare.. They said the dogs would have to go through a whole other orientation and that they would NOT honor the money we spent on the daycare packages we purchased since it was over a year. Frankly I was shocked at their response. What the hell? What kind of customer service is this? What kind of company would not honor money that was spent in good faith for THEIR programs... Sure, I understand the need to reevaluate the dog since it's been a year, but not honor the money we spent? We will never do business with these guys again.

The staff at Griffin Animal Hospital is not only knowledgable but they genuinely care about their clients/patients. I recently adopted another fur baby and Dr Griffin and her staff have gone out of their way to answer questions and provide care. I don't think I could trust another Veterinarian in Columbia, especially since most are corporate and require extra fees, testing that isn't needed, and staff that seem to come and go. If you are looking for a Vet in the area I'm sure they wouldn't mind you stopping in and checking them out. They are always welcoming and helpful.

I am writing this review now because I went to my new vet(Cat Clinic) the other day and had a wonderful, easy, affordable experience, and it made me write this review. First issue is the never ending "required tests" stool tests, bloodwork, and other things. They make you do them or at least made me every single time I came in regardless of the issue. This of course ran the bill up every single time to around $600-$700 dollars. Second issue was Dr. Griffins attitude. She couldn't be more abrasive if she tried and I always tried to be nice but I always got the feeling she seemed to feel like she was wasting her time talking to me. She was condescending and definitely didn't respect or care about my time. The final straw was when she said she tried to have me bring in another stool sample only two weeks after a prior visit just to get anxiety meds. It's literally 30% a scam to earn extra money. Lastly for example the Cat Clinic for a yearly check up was only $250 with two vaccines, Flea Meds for 2 cats, and anxiety meds. Which is the primary reason for writing this as I do feel I have been overcharged by Griffin for years. The Cat Clinic has never asked for a stool sample and they ask if I'd like to bloodwork which they don't recommend unless there's a concern. Goodluck with Griffin Animal Hospital if you don't believe me.

This was actually a cute and cozy room with a TV and music playing as opposed to a kennel. I liked that the room felt very private and they even had a privacy curtain for the door. The noise level in the facility when I toured the place was a lot quieter than other facilities which I also liked. It really felt more like a resort than a boarding facility. I also really appreciated all of the daily pictures that they posted on their facebook page to let me know that my babies were ok. The day after their stay, we took them to the dog park and my youngest baby had clearly gained so much confidence around other dogs. She had been a little stand-offish around other dogs but now she runs around freely and at ease.

UPDATE - I did speak with the owner of the facility and they did offer to make it right. It was a…read moreholiday weekend and the weather was not the best but as a pet owner it is upsetting to hear that my dog was not being let out frequently just because of the rain Picked our dog up after staying a Friday to Tuesday holiday weekend because our normal kennel was booked. Was told over the phone dogs were $30 a night and inside there's a sign that says $36 if weighed more than 55lbs which ours is not - we were charged $36 a night anyway making it more than we planned on. The worst part is he smelt and felt like he had been rolling around in his own pee the whole time he was there. I understand accidents happen at kennels but as someone who used to work at one sending a dog home the way ours was is unacceptable and he should have at the very least been hosed off with water if they noticed the run was dirty. He doesn't have accidents at home and has never been picked up from his regular kennel smelling or feeling like this before.

My daughter always gets him the deluxe stay package and is pleased with the attention and care he receives.
