I was not super pleased with her last groom as there was a bit of miscommunication, so I reached out with my concerns and they gave me a full grooming service for free. Dropped off my doodle at 9am. He wasn't done til 5pm. I've never had to wait more than 3 hours before. When he got home he was listless and wouldn't eat. He then threw up numerous times. He wouldn't open his eyes and appeared exhausted. That was yesterday and he still hasn't eaten anything yet. I don't know the environment that he was held in for 9 hours. It was a house detached from the main building. I'll never take him there again! read more

Started out on a positive note with this particular facility. My dog loved the atmosphere and attention he received here. Then the service went down hill. The first time I boarded my dog with them was during Labor Day weekend, I picked him up after a 2 night stay and he had what looked like a large bite mark on his skin and his hair was gone! After I got him home I looked at the affected area more closely to see what was going on. Since it kinda looked reddish, I attributed it to an insect bite or rash. Wescott didn't mention anything to me or let me know how or why this happened! My dog didn't have any marks on him when I dropped him off . I booked another full daycare appointment since I really didn't know the cause of the incident and after some cream from my vet - the rash went away but his hair still hasn't grown back over that area. ​On this particular day I went into the facility to ask some questions. I was ignored as I stood there with my dog by 2 Women who were more concerned about the conversation they were having. I didn't get a " hello" or " how can I help you" nothing! I literally stood there waiting to be recognized until another young lady came out and asked me if I needed help, the other 2 never stopped talking to each other! This last incident, I booked an appointment for full daycare from 11am-7pm. I ended up having to go into work unexpectedly and was going to drop my dog off as soon as possible. At about 12 Noon, I get an email that his appointment has been cancelled! Confused I try to call them but no answer, I leave a message but received no reply! That is another issue with this particular facility, THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!! ​Why was my appointment cancelled when you received FULL PAYMENT for a full day of daycare? There is absolutely nothing on your website stating that if you don't arrive at 11:00, you're appointment will be cancelled! Although my dog loved going here and for the most part he was taken care of this location needs to learn Customer Service skills quickly. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!! If I could put zero stars I would! I took my pup to get bathed and to get the hair around her eyes trimmed, when I got her back I saw what had been done. There is now a red scrape under my pups eye! You can clearly see it's from the razor they used around her face because the hair around the area is missing! Every vet/groomer she has been to has told me she is the calmest dog they have ever worked with. I will never come back here! read more

Wescott has been an answer for us from day one. Our big boy Oscar loves playing and the attention he gets from the staff. They are on top of everything and let us know if they notice anything different about Oscar's habits. We love their constant care and concern. Not only for Oscar but for us. One star is a little high in my opinion. We used to take our 2 dogs to Wescott Acres but have since stopped due to some red flags. My dogs were always scared to get out of the vehicle when we arrived, which is abnormal for them. Usually when we arrive places, they want to jump out as soon as possible but this place, they would be shaking in the back seat and scared. It makes me wonder what happened to them there to make them like this. Multiple times, my dogs were brought back to the car with no collar on. When I asked why the collar wasn't on my dogs, the lady's response was "oh, it helps with the thing" and immediately walked away. Not too great... We needed to change payment options. When I dropped them off that morning, I told them about this and the lady told me that I can change it that afternoon when I pick them up because that's when it's charged. I said okay and went to work. I got a call from my wife saying they had charged for the day already on the card that we didn't want to be used. When I picked up the dogs, I told them about this and they apologized. I gave them the new card to which they said they would refund and recharge on the new card. They did not do this. The next day, I gave them the new card again and told them to change to the new card and delete the old card on file. They took the card inside and came out a few minutes later saying it had been done. I got a call from my wife a few hours later saying that they charged the old card again. We won't be using Wescott Acres again in the future. Very dissatisfied overall. read more

We made plans to leave our dog at the kennel, however when my husband arrived he was told he could not see where they would be keeping our dog. This was our first time using them and he was shocked. I called back to confirmed that they would not let is go back and see where they kept the dogs and was told yes that was correct. I think Megan was her name. She then told me that they do give tours, but not now because they are too busy and most people leave their dogs and never see the kennel area. Not me. FABULOUS TRAINER. I love Westcott for boarding and the great daycare, but if your dog needs training, choose Leon at Westcott. My very active and excited 1-year old golden retriever is a completely different dog -- after only 4 lessons. I signed up for a 10-session package, which was reasonable (especially given prices I've paid for previous dogs -- with much less positive results). Plus, he gets to enjoy daycare while there for training. Again, all the folks at Wescott are great, but take advantage of Leon if you need some training! read more

Updated to include the part that got cut off - I looked closer and every time I pet her, tons of hair as if she wasn't even brushed came out. Clumps & handfuls. I spent 30 minutes brushing her with my tools & had to use my own pet dryer to blow the loose coat out. Again, having experience in grooming, I am aware of the fact that a dog, especially a lab/golden mix will never completely stop shedding after a treatment & it loosens up the coat (typically they shed more in the following days than normal but not immediately after - that's a sign of poor brushing or lack of). The results of her "deshedding" were unacceptable. I brush her daily & keep up with her grooming routine. (normally i do this at home since the brush burn situation but after being in an accident - I didn't have the ability to do it myself this month and gave wescott acres another chance). So I know for an absolute fact it is not due to anything else besides a poor job done. Again, being understanding and giving the benefit of the doubt.. maybe there was a communication error & the deshedding wasn't preformed because I was shocked - no way would you believe she had a deshedding treatment preformed with the way she was shedding right after. I called & asked if she had the deshedding treatment & they confirmed she did. After I explained the situation and my concerns & the results of the service - I was met with "sorry about that".. that was all. No refund offer, discount, offering to preform the service again to correct the issue or at the least letting me speak with the groomer for insight..which in my experience of grooming are all standard resolutions. The customer service is terrible & unsympathetic. The tone was flat & uncaring. $100 wasted & I will not be back. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a groomer read more

I just moved here and was trying to find a new place for my dog to board and play all day. We did the meet and greet and did the daycare prerequisite. We booked boarding for Friday drop-off in the afternoon and Monday morning pick-up. When I dropped off, they told me she could not have daycare at all since the other dogs were already playing. It was before 1:00 pm. On Saturday, we signed up for full-day daycare. Sundays they do not offer all day daycare at all. When we picked her up on Monday, we got home and noticed some scratches on her. During pick-up, the staff did not mention anything about her stay being different than what we booked. We called when we noticed the scratches and were concerned she had been attached while playing at daycare. We were told she did not get daycare on Saturday and was pent up in her room all day since they didn't have her meet and greet on file. We did the pre-boarding registration and told them we wanted daycare, we called and confirmed daycare, we reconfirmed at her meet and greet the week prior, and we confirmed in-person at drop-off. My dog is 3 years old and very social. She has never stayed at a traditional shelter for boarding and we did not chose that for her stay for a reason. The lack of care, organization, and professional is appalling given you are trusting them with a member of your family. Save your time and money unless you want a anxious dog with scratches and was whimpering so badly when she got picked up since she had to pee tremendously. My dog does not get separation anxiety and does not have problems boarding other places. Don't let the other reviews fool you like we did. If I could give them no stars, I would. read more

They butchered my poodle's top knot after I said I was growing it out. Then today they tried to convince me that my doodle's hair was matted because a comb wouldn't go straight through it and tried to persuade me to shave him. Please tell all curly haired people that their hair is matted and they should shave it. If you don't want to do your job correctly, quit. Dog grooming is expensive and time consuming. I was very skeptical to leave my dogs in boarding for a long period of time but after touring the facilities I was comfortable with it. This pet resort is well maintained and very clean. It's a very secure area as well, they have cameras everywhere. The suites as well as the kennel areas were also very clean and spacious. Laura and her staff took great care of my two dogs. She even sent me text message updates through their almost 2 week stay at Westcott. The customer service was outstanding and I am very grateful for the care and kindness they provided. It's a charming place with a staff whose love and experience, caring and professionalism is unequaled to any other I've seen. They provide My dog with a full day of fun activities and lots of love. The daily activities and play is creative and yet catered to all types of dogs!! They even offer special add-on events and party days for a nominal additional fee. Seriously, it's like a Haven. My dog wags from head to tail when we head up their driveway to the resort!! She can't wait to see them and play!!! She is a HAPPY dog with a very HAPPY Mama!! I will continue to write this every year to let people know what really goes on here. To ensure that their dog/cat never has this happen to them. It's really simple...do NOT go here. Our dog went here for doggy day care numerous times, until the time he never came home. He was attacked by another dog at daycare and according to the necropsy suffered for a long time before someone found him/decided to take him in for help. He was a golden retriever in a play group with a cane corso, a combination that should have never even happened. After this incident we learned that staff leave the dogs unattended for at least 15 minutes at a time, because that is when this incident with our dog occurred.....I got a message from a stranger a few months back who told me they also lost their dog at this place during daycare. HOW IS THIS PLACE STILL IN BUSINESS. They advertise full time supervision, but they don't deliver it, so beware. read more

My little dog, Bella, has stayed several times. She has always come home healthy and happy. As a matter of fact, I can tell she has had a good time and hasn't been cooped up too much because she doesn't have that scraggly look. You know the look a dog gets that has been locked in a cage for a week without much relief? This scraggly look we have seen in our little pup whenever she has gone to other boarders in the area. But, not Wescott Acres! Bella always comes home looking fresh and refreshed! Bella stays in the cottage because she is a small dog. Smaller dogs get a few more potty breaks because you know they have to 'go' more frequently. Admittedly, we do shell out a few extra bucks for the nature walk, because we like our pup to be exercised. The cottage is clean and bright. And how do I know this about the inside of the cottage??? Because, this is the ONLY boarder I have ever been to that let's you go back to the boarding area and place your dog in their 'room'. So you can see how comfortable, clean, and large the area is that they are staying. I was sad to see that other's haven't had a great experience, but I have had nothing but the BEST experience. When we pick Bella up the staff always tells us about her stay. When we have returned for boarding Bella always jumps out of the car and tries to run to the cottage door, wagging her tail in excitement. Do not take your animals here...the prices are ridiculous...the front office smells like a hoarders house...your animals will come home smelling the same. I planned a last minute weekend trip and my normal place was booked. I pre called this place and they told me it would be $30 a night. I come to pick up my 2 dogs and they tell me my bill is $124. Their excuse is a new person was answering the phones and it's actually $57 pet night. My normal place is cheaper for my dogs to stay a weekend and be groomed...both dogs!!! read more

I've been taking my dogs to Wescott for 15 years. Owner Laura and her loving staff give the best care to all the pets in their charge. They all clearly love animals and do everything possible to make them happy and comfortable when they're away from home. My current dog, Cody, has been groomed and boarded there since he was a puppy. They have opened early, stayed late and rearranged schedules to accommodate us over the years. Now that Cody is older and has health problems (including blindness) they take extra gentle care with him, just like they offered interaction, playtime and nature walks when he was very active.
