Please read on to be a better informed dog owner seeking boarding for your pet. For nearly a decade, my family had a rescue named Harry - we called him "Handsome Harry". He was a very small dog, but he made up for that with personality. He had a white tip on his tail that would become a blur when he wagged his tail enthusiastically. In October 2018, Harry was bitten at Bark's Play and Stay. He must have been bitten by a much larger dog, as there were large puncture wounds on either side of his head. On the Saturday that Harry was bitten, which we understand can and may happen, BUT my mother was not called by Bark's to notify my family about the injury, nor was he taken to the vet. On Sunday, when my mother arrived to pick him up, his head was swollen, he was dehydrated, and nearly unresponsive. He was taken to an emergency vet on Monday, where the vet informed us that his injuries had started to abscess. Harry died the next day, and it left my family devastated. All we wanted, was for Bark's Play and Stay to create a formal policy and process to better protect dogs in their care in the future. My mother recently reviewed Bark's stating the same thing, and her account was conveniently reported as fraudulent to Facebook - and thus the review has temporarily been removed. We just want owners to be informed, so what happened to Handsome Harry never happens to another dog under their care again.

This year Jen didn't work there anymore so I went with the new groomer and I will not go back again. First she forgot I called back to change my appointment, then she kept my cat for close to 3 hours, then I got my cat home only to find out she forgot to shave one of his legs so I took him back and she took my cat out of his cage and slapped him down on the table like a piece of meat and quickly shaved his leg. Then my cat didn't get the hair blown off of him so he was full of clumps of hair and so was his cage. I was very disappointed and sad for my cat and wishing I knew where Jen was.

Getting him into the carrier, he starts screaming, and it continues on the short drive to Chow Down Pet Supplies. Every customer is alerted to his arrival. Once in Sara's room, he calms down. Milo loves her! I help to hold legs as she shaves and combs him. Returning home, nails clipped and usually with a Mohawk "do", he has a spring in his step, and shows off to his girl cat housemates.

So I took my friend and made a appt for grooming ..... But here's the thing .... The first groomer a young blond woman washed and sculpted, brushed and made my friend BEAUTIFUL! THE only thing was he was so thirsty!! He drank like he had not drank for 2 days!! So I made another appt 3 or so months later...a older dark haired woman said the price might change if he got bigger. Ok...he arrived at 1pm. At 3:38 I got a text he was finished. My friend picked him up. $270.00 later I arrived home to my Newfie chopped up on his legs groin area and matted behind his ears. He was limping also. My friend said that the groomer had said " oh the dog Fell off The Table 2 times!! So I took pics and checked him over! He was so unevenly cut I was not happy! I took my baby girl here on April 30th, she was extremely lethargic, very very shallow breathing,…read morenot eating, not drinking ( it had been 4 days since she had either) she had blood in her poop, drooling. We had took her in and told them EVERYTHING! She was very sick, they told us they'd start with X-rays to make she didn't have a blockage. 6 hours later, we went to go get her. All the told us was they gave her anti nausea medicine, sent her home with different food and said "there was no blockage she's okay." They also said they took her outside and she "perked right up." "She hasn't thrown up at all while here" our baby girl proceeded to gag as soon as we got in the car. Progressively got worse since the moment she left. 2 days later she died. We took her to a second vet the next day after cottonwood, where they proceed to check her right away and said she's EXTREMELY dehydrated, and couldn't believe cottonwood didn't give her an IV, AFTER KNOWING SHE HADN'T EATEN OR DRANK IN DAYS. Amigo vet gave her IVs, tested her for parvo (negative) amigo told us she was extremely sick. My baby bled out of her but. She was extremely sick going into cottonwood, and they neglected our baby girl. 2 days after her passing, I talked to her doctor in person Dr. Hoest. I had asked her why they didn't give piper an IV. She quite literally SHRUGGED her shoulders. Continued to tell us, they checked if she was dehydrated, said she was. Were we told that when picking her up from there. NO, I was not. We were told nothing else but that she didn't have a blockage, THEY SAID SHE WAS OKAY. Whatever you do, don't take your baby here. Take them somewhere people actually care, Dr. Hoest chooses which clients she would like to GENUINELY care for. Yea it's cheaper here, but is it really worth the risk? Dr. Hoest neglected my dog, didn't do her job they way she should have. do NOT bring your pets here!
