On a 6 month summer road trip and day 2 our Lil'Bit had an extreme asthma attack. Scared us to death and could not find any other vet or hospital that could get us in. On the forth call they said bring her in now! When we got there they immediately took her and took her to the back for oxygen. Dr Diane was WONDERFUL, took all the time to explain her condition, went over the X-rays, a plan of attack to live with this condition, she stayed with oxygen for 3 hours, kept her the rest of the day till closing and gave us enough meds for most of the summer with refills if needed. Then she called two times after and the office called a couple times to check on her... It has been 6 hours weeks with NO ISSUES. I have had lots of pets in our life's, hundreds of goats, pigs, cows and horses and THIS VETS OFFICE HANDS DOWN WAS THE BEST. Everyone should have such excellent service. Thanks to everyone at ORCHARD MESA... read more

I took my pitbull here today. She is 10 years old, and she has a problem with a rash on her belly. Just never seems to go away. So this guy tells me that she has sunburn. She also has these brown spots on her belly. That come and go, and he tells me that, oh, that might be cancer. And then he tells me she has a little like a little pimple or mole on her eyelid, he says, oh, that's benign, whatever the hell that means, and then she's there for a checkup. He doesn't even check her heart. Rate, or anything, he just basically looks at her skin and says, oh, she may. The marks on her stomach may be cancer. Cancerous, or whatever he said, I don't know what the hell the guy was talking about? So then she got a parbo shot, a rabies shot 43 years. A parbo shot 43 years. And this guy charges me a hundred and seventy seven dollars, and he and then he cuts her do nails, and he cut her quick on one of them. I mean, this thing is like so short, there's not even a nail. Anymore, yeah, I will never go back to this guy. This guy is a clown, don't ever go to this guy. This is this guy is crazy read more

Absolutely everything this Vet only cares about money they do not care about the health for your dog. They will literally let you walk out of there because you can't pay your dog die if you say well I can't afford that. They'll say okay bye they're horrible money hungry they overcharged you for things you have to watch your bill and they can't even keep their records straight. They told me my dog did not need a shot so I didn't schedule it then I did my own research found out she did need it. They told me I was outside of the window and I couldn't afford another exam which they would not wave and they let me walk out with my girl not having her shot, they're horrible. Do not go here!!! wanna know who's great Vca tiara rado. My new clinic for my angels read more

i have been going to this practice for almost 15 years. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. They have cared for many of my animals, both cats and dogs. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. read more

Great spot. They were super busy but had a cancellation so they called me back to see if I could bring my kitty in. Fixed his limp with a shot and some antibiotics. You don't go to the vet for small talk, you do it to help your fur baby. That they did, they really were helpful. Thank you for everything, guys! read more

Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital - Look at that happy cat. - Veterinarians Near Me - Grand Junction, Colorado

We lost the last month of our boys life due to Orchard Mesa veterinary hospital negligence/misdiagnosis. In late August we took in our dog Tanner for a full check up before we attended a wedding in Bali in October. We expressed concern with the growths on his stomach being cancerous. The young vet looked at them and said they were just from the sun and we should not worry. She added that they could remove them so they don't bleed but if we were okay with the bleeding we could just leave them. She made this assessment without proper diagnostic testing to rule out any cancer just from a visual exam. Based on his blood work and stool sample they said our Tanner was in good health so we booked our trip to Bali for 3 weeks. 48 hours after we arrived back we noticed Tanner stopped eating, peed himself, could barely walk and stomach was swollen. We took him to the vet as soon as they opened. In under a minute using an ultrasound they found a tumor on his spleen that had ruptured and was bleeding internally. We were told our best option was to put our dog down. Those marks that we expressed concern over months prior were a red flag for Hemangiosarcoma. The mature vet that put him down noted the growths as a bad sign and his chance at surgery grim. They didn't take the time to do their job when we entrusted them and if they had we never would have went to Bali for 3 weeks. We would have given our boy the best last month of his life. We spoke to another vet who said in order to rule out cancer and properly diagnose an ultrasound should have been done. Why didn't they offer us the ultrasound? We would have gladly paid for one. We wanted to know our boy was okay and they falsely assured us. They also lacked compassion and we felt rushed to kill him and leave. It felt like they just wanted our money. They did not seem to care when we asked why didn't they do this months ago they said Tanner was in good health. We are truly disappointed in how they treated our boy and us. Tanner was a beloved family member and deserved his parents to be there for the last stage of his life. No family should have to go through this emotional distress. It feels like a nightmare. I would not recommend this place to anyone that cares about the well-being of their pets. read more

I booked Andy for 10 days in boarding. He gave them a high five paw. They treated him so well. I will confidently board him again. He was a happy camper. I highly recommend them for vet and boarding needs. read more

Unfortunately, I need to leave a negative review and I am not the type of person that normally does. Years ago, OM Vet was a wonderful place any time we needed to have our pets seen. They were compassionate doctors and staff when we had to put our dog to sleep several years back. But fast forward to this year. We have a cat that was diagnosed with cancer and is not long for this life. Dr. Tanja was wonderful and compasssionate and did what she could to help our kitty have some comfort. When I placed a phone call that we needed to set an appointment to put her to sleep, I never received a phone call back. So, after two weeks waiting for them to return my call, I am taking our baby to another vet. Something has changed with management of the Vet hospital that it does not seem like they care about the patients or the families attached to those pets. I am extremely disappointed in how they conduct business. Especially when is has to do with people and their animals. For their sake, I hope something changes and improves. At this time, I do not recommend OM Vet Hospital. read more

My puppy Maggie and I have been for two visits now and they have both been great! The wait was not very long for our appointments and she was seen and treated without a headache! Peanut butter might have helped but the staff made Maggie feel less anxious and scared! All of my endless questions were answered well and they were very patient. I would 100% recommend this vet to anyone! read more

We moved to Grand Junction a little over a year ago. Our Trixie was experiencing recurrent pain in one of her paws. OMVH was able to get her in immediately and was treated with antibiotics. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and have a caring "bedside manner". Since her first visit, Trixie has had joint surgery, a toe amputation and utilized the boarding facility. The staff shows love and care for all the pets entering the facility. I would specifically like to thank Dr.'s Nancy Hugenberg and Diane Henley-Clark. Because of their fantastic skills and care, Trixie has regained her quality of life. We will continue to return and refer clients for excellent care of their pets. Thank you to everyone at OMVH! read more

Don't let them tug on your heart strings at this place. If you truly love your pet, you will allow them to pressure sell you everything from heart worm meds to surgeries. Also, don't let them tell you that your pets records have been sent to off site storage when you want to transfer to a different vet. They still have them and they are in the back. We will never go to this high pressure sales racket ever again and you would be smart to go somewhere else that cares more about your pet and not your wallet. They were going to remove our dogs teeth to get more money. Took him to Amigo and all he needed was a teeth cleaning. read more

My family and I were on our way to go camping for the weekend, when my seven-month-old baby had the world's biggest blow-out. There was poop all over his legs, his feet, his hands, the car seat....everywhere. It was horrifying. We pulled over on the side of the road and tried to clean him with wet wipes, but it was hopeless. The campground we were headed to has no running water, so the best we could hope for was to get an extra jug of water and clean him and the car seat. Then I looked around and realized we had pulled over right outside of the Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital. So I awkwardly carried my poop-covered baby inside and desperately asked if they had one of those big grooming sinks we could borrow. They immediately ushered us to the back and gave us towels and a sink with one of those sprayer hoses - perfect for washing a baby! I washed my baby, and then the car seat (they gave me a scrubby brush for that job). They insisted that we take a clean towel with us so the baby didn't have to sit in a wet car seat, and helped me reassemble the straps of the car seat. I don't live any where near Grand Junction, but if I did I would certainly take my dog there. If they show half the compassion and grace to your family that they did to my (non-paying) family, your pets will be in good hands. read more

My dog (Spike) had been having a lot of difficulty healing from an eye ulcer (boxer ulcer). By the time we saw Dr. Clark I was worried that Spike was going to loose his eye so this was a pretty high-stress visit for us. Dr. Clark took more time with the exam than ANY of the other 4 Vets we had seen in the past 2 month while trying to heal this ulcer. Not only was he INCREDIBLE with my dog, he alos took the time to educate me on the condition and even did all the work (on his eye) in the same room while I was allowed to hold him (most other Vets take the dog to the 'back room' and I am forced to wait out front). This was a HUGE comfort to me! It also empowered and encouraged me in my own ability to care for Spikes ulcer. I am happy to report that Spike has made a full recovery without unnecessary surgery or outrageous cost! The facility was immaculately clean, the staff was AMAZING (comforting, patient, kind and incredibly helpful). And as a bonus Dr. Clark took the time to email me the notes from Spikes visit since we travel frequently and I hand-carry his medical record with me at all times. This is hands down the BEST Veterinary clinic I have ever been to (and I have been to at least a dozen over the last few years). THANK YOU to the entire staff at Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital for taking care of me and Spike. read more

I've taken my three dogs here for four years and have never had anything but well-explained, thorough, and professional service from each of the vets, especially Dr Tania, our main vet. When my beloved dog had to be euthanized, they were compassionate and supportive. Highly recommended! read more

Nice and Clean, Very good Doctors and the best technicians that I've ever encountered.

I am appalled by this facility. My dog had a growth that was labeled a non-emergency a check or two ago. We came back for another check and the same vet stated it need off immediately and were made to feel like poor parents. We were given a quote for the removal and an unnecessary teeth cleaning. We had to budget for this kind of cost w/ no intention of the teeth cleaning. When we scheduled we were given a quote, which appeared high and w/ no teeth cleaning requested. I came in to drop my pooch off and was presented a bill that ranged $160-465 higher from the original quote and w/ a teeth cleaning. They bargained, was made to feel bad and went through w/ the surgery. BUT I've found a highly recommended vet whose agreed to do the aftercare. NEVER coming back. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! HORRIBLE CARE, SERVICE AND STAFF. I took our cat in was told he needed teeth pulled...because of their dirty center he got an infection that almost killed him...still not himself and I think was treated poorly while he was there. Take your pet to a vet that cares, try Arrowhead instead. Much better people and service. I am ashamed of Orchard Mesa Vet Clinic, ashamed people don't care for your pet...just about money. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful and the vets are knowledgeable and caring. I have been taking all of my pets here for many years.

I'm very dissatisfied with the care my dog received while in this clinic. She was seen on a Friday and was diagnosed with 'sinus drainage that was causing her tonsils to be inflamed". She was prescribed 1000mg of Cephalexin 2x per day. Saturday evening she was rushed to Grand Valley Veterinary Emergency Center and diagnosed with pneumonia. She was in intensive critical care all weekend. On Monday she was transferred back to Orchard Mesa for day care. Immediately, Dr. Clark wanted to change the treatment plan as advised by GVVEC and run more bloodwork and take more x-rays. I was quoted almost $700 and asked for a credit card. When I told Kylie I'd like to speak to the Dr. about his recommended treatment plan, I was told I'd receive a phone call. After 3 calls, I demanded to speak with Dr. Clark who, once he finally came to the phone, told me, "we've been slammed with appointments all day". When I inquired about her treatment plan he told me he hadn't had an opportunity to review her file from GVVEC. This conversation took place at 2pm when she had been there since 8am!!!! She was transferred back to GVVEC at 5:30pm. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I was with the level of care and customer service when she was at GVVEC!! Orchard Mesa....not so much. read more
