My Australian Shepherd is a super picky eater. I read alot about upgrading my dog to a raw diet so I stopped by this little shop in Riverview. They had the Fromm food my pet seems to like and freeze dried raw was on sale, buy one get one. I figured that would be a good way to ease her into a new diet. My wife and I just got an adorable little frenchie puppy and decided to stop into Dog Gone Holistic to get some food and other goodies. When we walked in, we were promptly greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. We were asked quite a few questions about what we were looking for, what we were interested in, etc. and we were quickly on the same page. This helped the employee guide us in the right direction and explain multiple options to us that fit our needs and budget. I was impressed with how knowledgeable the employee was and how there was no type of judgement at all. I felt like they genuinely just wanted the best for my new pup. This is a great place to find healthy dog food options that aren't typically found at grocery stores or the "big" corporate pet stores. While those stores are focused more on profit, Dog Gone Holistic is focused more on health. Plenty of Freeze dried food options and baked kibble were on hand (and ended up in my trunk). I look forward to going back for things like supplements and food toppers. Plus they carry Stella and Chewy products, so this is my new spot! Every star is well deserved by this business. Never been to the Fish Hawk location, but i'm sure it's the same. Small business, two locations, and reputable brands with minimal ingredients. Employees are very knowledgable, if one doesn't know the answer the other will. They use the products at the store so you can get food insight and opinions on recommended brands. They helped me transition my dog from lightly cooked human grade food to a good brand of a complete meal raw feed. (Answers raw patties & goat milk) They also have a reward system for certain brands, I know for a fact there is one for answers patties, answers fermented goat milk, and raised right as good grade dog products do seem to be a bit more pricey. They also have an email system that will let you know when they have dog teeth cleaning, and other deals! They welcome your dogs and also have cat food, if I am not mistaking! read more

Fantastic 1st visit here. We no longer need to drive all the way to Brandon and pay too much to not get what we need. This shop has everything you could want for your pup (cats too), especially if you are on the raw diet route. I love this store - they have a great variety of food, treat, and supplement options for dogs. Our doodle has to be on a restricted diet and we couldn't find the specific recipe type for our preferred food brand. The team at DGH told us that if it's not on the shelf then they can order it for us. The pricing is reasonable and they are always reliable in getting us our next bag. I've been coming here for about 4 months now and the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and gives excellent recommendations based on your pet's needs. My dog Oliver suffers from severe allergies and we have been narrowing down the problem little by little. Since visiting this location and taking their recommendations into account we have been able to minimize the allergies so much more!
