I contacted Trisha in September 2017 about watching my two special needs dogs over Thanksgiving, at the recommendation of several people in my neighborhood's Facebook group. She seemed like a great fit, and we hired her. Sadly, it did not end well, and I must recommend that other pet owners do not hire this company. Details: -They are operating an illegal business. Their LLC has been suspended by the State of CA for tax issues, making it illegal to advertise, accept payment, or do business. The city says their business license expired 7yrs ago, also illegal. -They advertise themselves as bonded/insured, but no one can find record of their insurance company ("PAS Pet Sitters Association") even existing. A well-known company with a similar name ("Pet Sitters Associates") has confirmed that they have no record of Dog Gone Pet Pros ever being bonded/insured by them. When I first contacted Trisha, I emphasized the importance of not leaving our dogs home alone more than 8hrs/day (one has severe separation anxiety), which she agreed to. She admitted after we boarded our plane that she never planned on being with them more than 12hrs/day, and tried to leave them alone 14-16hrs/day (basically just sleeping at the house). For a dog w/ sep anxiety, that is *torture*, and she had no compassion whatsoever. At the insane price of $85/night, I 100% expected her to spend more than 2 waking hours with my dogs, especially since that's what she agreed to in writing & in person. -Before leaving town, we decided to turn on our security camera at the front door and gave her a heads up as a courtesy; she immediately brought up that her marriage had ended "at some point in the last 2 months" and her kids' father was out of town, so she couldn't stay with the dogs & needed to send her business partner Jamie (a man we had never met). We were sympathetic to her situation, but it didn't sound like this was a new development; she'd been texting me all morning and didn't mention anything was amiss. It appeared as though she planned to have Jamie stay with the dogs all along, and only told us about it because of the camera. -We were forced to agree to Jamie staying with the dogs temporarily, while we quietly looked for a new sitter to take over. We were shocked to see on our security camera that Jamie invited a female companion (non-employee) to stay at our house overnight each day, without asking our permission or notifying us. When confronted, he just texted me "sry I forgot to let you know but I didn't feel like being alone"-- completely unprofessional. -Despite being specifically warned to triple check all doors and gates because our deaf/blind dog has no way of finding his way home if he gets lost and would likely get hit by a car... Jamie left a gate open, and one of our dogs ran away. Thank god he got the dog back, but again, didn't tell us about it until confronted & denied responsibility for leaving the gate open. -Our camera was mysteriously unplugged. The camera automatically notified us & sent us the last clips before it was unplugged; Jamie was yelling at our dog to come to him while the dog whimpered off camera, and then the last clip was Jamie walking towards the camera before it went offline. It could have been an accident or intentionally unplugged, but it was the last straw for us and we needed these people out of our house immediately. We had one of my husband's marines go over & check on our pets, and supervise while Jamie packed up his stuff & left. It is incredibly stressful to be halfway across the country while a total stranger has full access to your home & pets, knowing that they have lied to you repeatedly & not knowing if they are the kind of person to retaliate (again, had never even met Jamie). The constant lying and the blatant lack of regard for our dogs' welfare & safety (or even our house's safety, allowing a non-employee to stay there) was horrific, and I have to strongly caution other pet owners to never hire this company. If you go on their website, they proudly link to a newspaper article where Trisha & Jamie say they got into the petsitting business because Californians seem willing to spend a lot of money on their pets, and petcare businesses have low start-up costs. They are in this for the money, not the love of the animals, and it shows in how they do business. Avoid at all costs. read more

My wife and I are are both active duty military and work unorthodox and long hours. On top of the that, we try to make to make the most of our time off by going out a lot. With two dogs, it was difficult to imagine them couped up in the house all day...and not getting the walks they needed. For the past THREE years Jamie and Trish have been our saviors! I can't think of a time they've ever said the words "no." The dogs get walked when we need them not to mention some of the short notice requests we've had on weekends, or long periods. The dogs are cared for, fed if requested, and a note is always left as to how the walk went and if they went #1 / #2 etc. Additionally, one of our dogs is very skiddish and crazy, but they knew how to handle her so well. They know what they are doing. The peace of mind Dog Gone Pet Pros has given us is immeasurable! It has been a pleasure for the pups, and a pleasure to have two walkers who we both consider friends of the family. Without them, things would be much more difficult to manage. We had used Jamie as our dog walker/sitter while my husband and I were out of town a few times, and everything seemed fine with our pup. The problem for us happened when Jamie was hospitalized, and Trisha took on the role of taking care of our dog. She came over before my trip and I walked her through everything. I also left a note with detailed instructions. In a nut shell, the things that went wrong were: 1.) I had told Trisha that she could leave my sliding glass door open during the day so that my dog could hang out outside if she wanted to. I asked her to close it when she came in the evenings, but found out that she was leaving the door wide open all night long.... was definitely not happy about that. 2.) My dog was 5 at the time, fully potty trained, and can hold her pee for a very long time. When I came home I immediately noticed that one of my bedrooms smelled like pee. Turns out she had an accident on the carpet for the first time since she was a puppy... which made me seriously question if Trisha was actually coming over 2x a day like I was paying her for. 3.) I was out of town for 2 weeks, and my neighbor said that he not once saw my dog and Trisha out... and this guy is retired and hangs out in his open garage every day. Granted this wasn't the deal breaker because it's possible that he just didn't ever happen to see them outside walking, but it was just the icing on the cake. I'm not sure if she was overloaded doing both her and Jamie's dogs, but regardless, it was unacceptable and I was really annoyed. Keep in mind that I am NOT a negative Yelp reviewer at all.... Jamie was amazing with our 5 dogs! We had a total of 5 dogs staying with us for the weekend and Jamie took care of all of them for the weekend. Our dogs ranged in size from a Lab to a yorkie and they all loved him. He took the time to come to the house a few days before to meet the dogs. It was nice to see their reaction to him, he was very knowledgeable about how the dogs were reacting to his body language. I will call Jamie every time I go on vacation, he was that great! read more

You deserve to know the truth...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is the only YELP review I have ever done. I used Trish for 3 years. Trusted her with the only thing that matters to me in this world, my fur baby. I considered her part of the family. My 9 pound baby is eight years old and fully potty trained. I noticed 2 accidents in the house over a year ago. Has never happened ever. My neighbor then mentioned that she never saw my baby getting a walk - and she would know. I was having some weird mommy radar signals and set up a nanny cam. Sure enough, the next day Trish came in the house and then left without walking my baby at all. My tiny dog was left for 9 hours. No walk. No relief. Disgusting. You would never leave a child in the crib in a dirty diaper for 9 hours. When I asked her about it, she admitted to it for 3 days in a row. God only knows how many days, weeks, months were robbed from my baby; not getting outside for a walk, holding her pee, etc. Not to mention the outright theft of money from me for not doing her job. I have sent her other referrals and they too had noticed red flags and have since stopped using her. If you value your pets' health and happiness, look elsewhere. I am now using Dogs on the Run. They have a GPS system that shows me exactly when they arrive, how long they walk, where they walk, when they finish, if they pooped or peed, and pictures from the walk. You get what you pay for and I highly recommend them. I will never be able to make it up to my baby, but hopefully this will protect future pets from this abuse. read more

Jamie is the best! We have used him for several years, and he has shown such care and responsibility for our dog. We don't have the best dog to walk, but Jamie never misses a scheduled walking. He is also great for when we go on our trips. He accomodates our last minute appointments all them time! We love Jamie! read more

Never use this company, it is a scam! I recently went on vacation and hired this company to walk my dog while I was gone. I asked them to come 7 days, 7 specific days while I was gone. Upon returning from my trip my landlord informed me that they only came once, and were extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never ever written a yelp review, but I knew in this situation I needed to. To top it all off, I have been back in town for over a week and have not heard from them about payment or anything.
