As first time dog owners, training was a top priority for us. We have a pretty high energy puppy (as most puppies are), so we wanted to make sure he started training early on. We also didn't want to go to a group lesson where we would have to re-teach "sit" 20 times if one dog didn't figure it out and ours did. All I can say is that Ryan was the best decision we could have made for training. Our 6 month old goldendoodle just finished his puppy training and is such a good listener now! Since training, he now: -Waits at the door and for his food -Stopped hopping on the top of our couch -Can sit & stay in busy places (one of our trainings was at Fashion Island during holiday time) -Walks with us and rarely pulls on his leash -Can sit, lay down, spin around, crawl, wait, etc. -Goes to his bed or crate when we tell him Ryan is quick to respond over the phone and truly cares about each of his clients' training success. He would sometimes call us in between trainings to check in & see if we were having any training issues/how training was going. Ryan is a fantastic trainer! Had our first lesson today with our two rescued boxer/shepherd mix pups and WOW, what an awesome session. I actually felt like training was fun(?!) and our girls were already making massive progress in the hour and a half we spent together. Ryan has a way of making you and your dog(s) feel totally comfortable and confident. He is extremely knowledgeable, energetic and ready to answer any question or concern you might have. Positive Reinforcement training is absolutely the way to go in our experience (we tried other methods but it just stressed everyone out). I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Ryan! We hired him to train our 4-year Bernedoodle. Our dog, Gatsby, would bark consistently when people came to our house. We had to stop inviting friends over. Ryan taught Gatsby to bark only if there is a threat and taught us how to work with him. We were so impressed that we hired Ryan to walk him. Gatsby waits at the door for Ryan to show up and loves his adventures. Ryan doesn't just walk Gatsby down the road he takes him out on trails, to the beach, parks, and really gives him the attention, physical activity, and mental stimulation that he needs. We love getting the daily photos that Ryan takes to share where they are and the adventure they are on. The photos are the best dog photos I have seen. He takes time to learn each dogs personality and has an incredible way of capturing it. It makes me feel part of Gatsby's day! I met Ryan walking with a friend before I had a dog and he was so friendly and nice that I kept his card for three years. I called him before I got my dog, and since it was my first dog, he told me exactly what to buy. The first few nights with my puppy, I made a lot of late night phone calls. I get that my doodle is high energy and needs training but that's why we brought him to Ryan. There seemed to be frustration and lack of patience during the session. Ryan did an outstanding job training me and my dog. I rescued a 1 year old Border Collie and wasn't sure where to begin! Ryan provided great recommendations during our lessons. Ryan introduced me to an alternative food along with different toys and a walking harness. Ryan followed up via phone and text and was always energetic, enthusiastic and ready to go for each of our lessons. Ryan provided me direction (essentially homework) in between lessons and during each lesson, we worked on and eventually mastered a number of commands and corrected some bad behavior I was experiencing. Overall, I can't say enough good things! I had looked at a bunch of different trainers and chose Ryan because he is passionate about what he does and my dog took to him rather quickly....he didn't use anything negative or prong collars are anything like that.
