My dog is now traumatized and aggressively terrified!! Very disappointing since we were SO excited. The moment we walked in it was very weird and awkward interactions. We felt maybe we were overthinking it seeing a regular come in and they were so nice, but then there was a switch when the worker would talk to us. She was asking us questions and I tried explaining to her that our puppy is FRESH out of her vaccines (12 days after her last shots) so she's still afraid of some things, learning new things exist. But we did practice desensitizing her the moment we adopted her and she handled it fairly well, simply afraid in the beginning and just needs some love and encouragement to keep her going. I had booked this appointment through email with no problems. When we arrived she said over the phone they should have told me about how new puppies may not get their full grooming (as i had booked) because they don't want to frighten them. Though I was not initially told this information I figured I saw amazing reviews, she's the expert, didn't argue and agreed. We walked away feeling very anxious and uneasy. We got our puppy back amazingly groomed she looked perfect so we tried not to think much of it, but she was TERRIFIED she NEVER cries and it isn't our first time leaving her alone with other people before but it was the first time she seemed so scared and sad. The worker seemed like she was disappointed in us and personally we felt very talked down to like children as she tried giving us tips on how to desensitize her more. I didn't argue with her I just smiled and kept nodding, thanking her for the advice. It broke my heart of how terrified our puppy seemed and it took her a while to act herself again but at the time we decided to overlook all of it. My boyfriend typically brushes her in the morning while I'm at work, and all week he has explained to me how terrible she's been reacting to what we've normally done with her perfectly well for the last 4 months of adopting her. First time I was bathing and brushing her myself since being at Doggie Doo's she was aggressive and terrified more than the first time she was even introduced to the brush or hair dryer. She used to LOVE being brushed especially her face but she full on BIT me for the first time ever while I was brushing her. Even after our usual encouragements and treats while grooming her she was not having it. I'm not one to ever hold a grudge or even so much as to put a negative review. We knew we brought her in with long hair and nails because we realized we didn't know what we were doing at home and decided to wait till her vaccinations were done to bring her in to the experts for a proper and safe grooming. So we tried overlooking our puppy's fright since we understand it must not be an easy job and that we received her perfectly groomed. With the way my puppy reacted after her first bath with me since Doggie Doos Grooming, my heart breaks and I pray another dog never goes home feeling the way our puppy did. read more

Doggie Doo's was a reliable service for a few months, but I haven't taken my Pyrenees mix back ever since they basically shredded 1-2 warts on his inside toe pads. I returned after hair and nail trim were complete and noticed right before I left that my dog was trailing blood from his paws. Only after asking about the bloody paws did I discover that the groomer apparently shredded the warts (which we, at the time, were not even aware that he had) with a hair clipper! The poor boy has been sensitive about us touching his paws ever since and that was almost a year ago! I got the impression that they wouldn't have said a word about it if I hadn't noticed my dog was bleeding before I left. Maybe it was 1 bad groomer but it's left a bad taste in my mouth ever since and I would not recommend. The only reason it's not a 5 star is because it takes them a long time, they complain about his energy, and some of the people that work there don't come off as the friendliest. The owner was very sweet and showed concern and wanted to fix the wrong right away. She offered a refund or to have us being him back in. Had a horrible experience with Tina. I had to bring my Maltipoo in because she had gotten two mats on her neck, and I couldn't get them out myself. I told Tina if she needed, like worst case scenario, she could shave the neck, but leave the rest relatively longer. I came back to pick up my dog, and her entire body was horrible shaved. It was uneven, incredibly short and not well done. Some parts of her stomach and back didn't have any fur left. It's also freezing outside! The groomer then proceeded to tell me if my dog ever needed a better home, where she would be better taken care of, she would take her off my hands. She repeated this to me SEVERAL times. My dog had two mats, and the groomer thought I was abusing her. She told me again and again she would give her more love, attention and care than I did. She really believed I was a horrible owner, and didn't want me to leave with my puppy. My poor puppy looks horrible, and I was incredibly insulted. I love my dog like a child, and to hear a stranger say otherwise was heartbreaking. I am the owner who buys my dog matching Christmas pajamas with me, and gets her more gifts for Christmas than I do for my friends. I will not be returning to this groomer ever again. My puppy is also incredibly itchy now, and she seems very sad. I can understand a groomer doing a bad job, but not deciding my dog needs to be shaved when I never asked for it!
