Incredibly disappointed and in tears about the service here. I had my dog groomed on Monday and she has been scooting since. Her tail is totally raw underneath (even before scooting) and she is in pain; acting like a totally different dog...it is absolutely heart breaking. She came home and the next day had kennel cough even though she has been vaccinated. She also has a cut on her leg from this visit and I am extremely upset and disappointed. $89 for this and now probably a $1000 vet visit too. Do better. read more

I've been bringing my golden retriever here for grooming without issue until my most recent visit. When I dropped her off, I requested the same trim as usual and even confirmed the length in inches. So, I was shocked when I picked her up and saw that she had been shaved--something I've never asked for before. At first, the staff insisted that her coat wasn't any shorter than usual. But after I pointed out the difference and showed photos from her last grooming appointment, they admitted they had used the wrong trimmers, resulting in her coat being cut too short. They explained that they had misread the notes on her file. I cannot understand how a professional groomer would shave a golden retriever, especially without consulting the owner first. It's common knowledge that goldens have an undercoat that should never be shaved. My poor dog was traumatized--she became lethargic for weeks and suffered severe itching. They refunded me upon request, and offered an aloe treatment, but I didn't want to cause her any more stress by leaving her with them. I also no longer trust them with her. I'm giving this review 2 stars, based solely on the positive experiences I've had in the past. This incident happened 4 months ago, and I'm still shaken by it. I've debated leaving a review for a while, but decided to as my dog's fur has only just started to grow back to its normal length. **** update*** I was able to get in contact with the owner and she was very professional and dealt with the issue immediately by offering an aloe treatment to attempt to reduce the itching and irritation. She assured me that she spoke with the groomer and came up with a resolution on their end, too. I really appreciate the owner doing what she can to remedy the situation! **** My poor pup had his hair ripped out with a furminator brush to the point where he's got scrapes all over his sides. His hair was thinned out so much that he lost his entire top coat and looks like he's aged 5 years. I put before and after photos to showcase how the groomer took the majority of both inner and outer coats. We go to the groomer every 3-4 months and I have never picked up one of my dogs with a coat that felt rough/bridle. As a veterinarian, I have seen how this kind of damage can permanently alter Arctic breeds hair and I really hope that is not the case. I expected more and am really disappointed and sad for my pup, as I know the scrapes cannot be comfortable. I had my other two dogs bathed and had no issues with them. The employees were polite and the store was clean. Whoever worked on my third dog needs to be taught proper use of grooming tools to prevent soft tissue injury or permanent hair follicle damage. These scrapes are at an increased risk of infection and I will continue to monitor. Overall, I cannot recommend this place for Arctic breed dogs. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE! If you want to pick up a healthy pet after the groomers DONT go here!!! I took my dog there and when I picked him up he couldn't open his eyes. The groomer was Kendra (also the manager), she told me that she thought hair had gotten in his eye and she rinsed it. I didn't take him home after that I took him straight to my vet but they were closing so I had to take him to urgent care. The vet told me since he was fine when I dropped him off at the groomers that something had to have happened AT the groomers (he was there for 3 hours). They found ulcers in his eyes. The vet indicated that they most likely sprayed or put something in his eyes they weren't supposed to. Mary the owner did not compensate me for my full vet bills or my grooming appointment "because the service was done". Now my poor baby is miserable but the service was done right? read more

The other places I tried just didn't have the exacting skills for Shih Tzu cuteness. Mary and Kendra really listened and understood the look I wanted. The shop is clean, cute and everyone is super friendly. They respond to emails and texts, and even send you a puppy report card after the appointment. Adorable! I dodged a bullet by not bringing my fur baby here. On the phone they said if my dog bites the groomer, they would call animal control and take him away from me and I would have 10 days to show proof of vaccinations or they will put him down. Our first visit was good, I think because we were the first customer on a Sunday morning. Today however was much different. We were under the impression this was a quiet facility and everyone was given a personal experience, hence the expensive price. Today sounded like the pound with multiple dogs barking from cages in the back and an unwelcoming feel. My timid cat was freaking out with the amount of chaos in the back. When I said we would like to cancel the lady with the tatted arms seemed relieved. No attempt to retain our business and reschedule. If you have a dog this place seems like the place to go. I just wouldn't bring your cat unless they are totally comfortable with barking and howling dogs. 2 stars since the first visit was good. Unfortunately we won't be back. read more

Updated review (as a customer of almost 2 years) What I love about Mary's is the groomers take pride in their job and they always give the cut I asked for which is VERY important to me. They have made scheduling so easy! You fill out a portfolio for your pet and then you are matched with the best groomer. Each time you come in they make notes on what was done (and who groomed) so that each time they can schedule you with the same groomer. I have recommended Kendra to so many people! She specializes in curly hair coat styles and has been grooming my cavachon, Tails, since he was a puppy. Tails and Kendra absolutely love each other! Tails gets a donut mustache, clean face (shaven), and clean feet (shaven) because he likes to dig. She takes her time, which I truly appreciate! Some places rush the dogs and the groomers, which makes for a stressed out staff and stressed out dogs--only wagging tails from Mary's. Mary personally groomed Rufio, I wanted an Aussie show cut and I am absolutely blown away! Pricing is important too, I think they deserve to be paid more. Out of ALL the groomers I took my pets to this was the WORST. I've never been to a grooming shop where the employees at the front desk acted as if they didn't want to be there. This morning I received a call asking if I can arrive early. I agreed. When I got there I was asked if I confirmed my appt yesterday which I did. Clearly they didn't check this information a day prior and forgot that THEY just spoke with me this morning. After telling the women at the front my dogs names numerous times and pointing them out, they still got them confused and just left it at that. I explained each pet behavior habits. Seemed to be going in one ear and out the other. I was just told oh the groomers will be out. Basically tell them. Which I did again. One is older and likes to be alone The other is hyper Each pet have been groomed since they were babies and never had an issue with being cut. When asked how I'd like them cut (they're yorkies) The groomers acted as if they didn't know what a teddy bear yorkie facial groom was. I had to dig through my phone to show pictures and look online. They were still confused so I said just teddy bear regular yorkie cut Long hair on ears. I'm not sure WHAT happened with one of their cuts I get a message that they're ready. I'm outside so I walk back in immediately. Once again no greeting no eye contact no how can I help you No which animal are you here for. Nothing. So, I ask for them. I paid and waited and waited until I asked if she received the ZELLE payment. WORST OF ALL... my small one was cut on her nipple. No I'm sorry, no would like to speak with the supervisor etc. Just oh I cut her nipple, but afterwards she was calm. And no s she's hurt. Will NEVER go back to this place. Mary's groomer Rachelle did a fantastic job on our Australian Shepherd but Mary's Professional Grooming charged us for a large breed dog grooming. He weights in at 50 plus lbs. he is not a large breed and with us paying $100.00 plus tip is very expensive. PetSmart charges us 60.00 plus tip. We do appreciate the care and updates Mary's provided but they need a better understanding of dog breeds. read more

Weren't enough stars!! Added a before and after picture for comparison. They came out super soft, super clean, and smelling lovely! My aussie's behind was trimmed up nicely and we all know how unruly it can get back there. My poodle unfortunately had her little tail cut off by one of her previous owners and it has always been a challenge to groom. They left her tail looking fluffy and cute. They did charge $10 extra for brushing out her matting (my fault) but I appreciate that effort as other places would have just shaved her down completely and they added little bows!
