It is honestly impressive how many good reviews this daycare has. Understandable, considering clients see only a snippet of their dog's time with you including the happy images you share. I'll admit that when my dog stayed with you, my family assumed nothing but the best because those pictures of him enjoying a walk are just so cute. I was disappointed to find out that your facility is frequently understaffed, that your employees don't receive proper animal handling training, and that you house a DOG AND PEOPLE aggressive shepherd in the same facility as your clients beloved pets. A dog that has a history of attacks and that recently mauled an employee's arm (reported to animal control if anyone would like to fact check), a situation in which the owner has yet to take accountability for. If you are a person that cares how your dog is treated behind closed doors, or better yet a person who believes in workers rights and protections, I would steer clear of this boarding service. The few negative reviews are evidence of the chaos slipping through the facade. Do not ignore them. read more

Maya's team is amazing! The staff really care about your fur babies and put their best interest first. Appa, my shiba inu is a selective dog and only likes a handful of dogs... But she's so excited when she gets picked up from daycare, she won't even turn around or notice us saying bye! That's phenomenal considering she doesn't care about dogs outside of daycare. Our Cattledog mix Ollie Aka Ollie Man has been going to DTD (Dogs True Dream) since Feb 2020, since he was just 5 months old. He's 2.5 weeks away from 3 years old now. He was basically raised by the dogs/staff at DTD and has developed a strong pack mentality and won't run off too far when he's off leash. I kid you not when we take him to DTD, he whines to be let out of the car, and when I open the car door he sprints inside, so excited and happy to be there. Makes me very happy seeing him happy and is the complete opposite of his experience at the vet (tail between his legs, growling, resisting being brought inside) so I know he's have a great time at DTD based on how excited/happy he gets every day he goes. The staff is always so friendly, upbeat, Maya, Grace (back in the day), Carlos, Savi, Jessica, and the rest of the team. He will also miss Levi, Powder and many of his other buddies. He gets dropped off after each day of excitement and takes a nice long nap after his days "at school"! They celebrate birthdays at DTD also! We're going to miss DTD almost as much as Ollie! I wish I could give Maya more than 5 stars! We have known Maya since she began walking our two crazy vizslas years ago. Since moving from the East Bay to San Francisco, unfortunately our now elderly vizsla is now not in Maya's group range, but when she sees Maya she gets so excited and happy because she misses her! Maya is exceptional with dogs because she understands animals on a very deep level. She works with her dog clients and gives each member of her pack attention and love-- the word "care" doesn't even do it justice. It has always been important to me that my dog's safety was first and foremost, and Maya maintains the upmost level of safety in her adventures while giving the dogs the best time ever. She has a bond with her animals that is just incredible to see. And, to top it off, she's a wonderful, generous, compassionate person. I recommend Maya wholeheartedly! Update! Stella is one lucky girl to be back in Maya's loving care. She loves going out with the pack and enjoying her fabulous outings twice a week to Point Richmond. Maya is great! She's been walking and boarding Zoe, my 60 lbs pit mix, regularly since she was an 8 month old puppy. Zoe's now 5 so it's been about 4 years now, and Zoe has developed into a very social and great dog. I'm always amazed at how Maya figured out how to deal with Zoe's out of the roof energy as a puppy and into her big girl years. Maya spent an hour on a pre-boarding phone call with me to learn about our Cocoa and to explain her philosophy on dogs. Then we paid for an assessment day - which was extremely valuable, so that Maya could learn what Cocoa needs and so that we could learn how to support her, as well. Maya values off-leash, social time in natural and gives the dogs breaks (and even a meditation time!), as they need. Cocoa LOVES her off-leash hikes during the day and then boarding at Maya's at night. We get text and picture updates from her day, as well. We feel so lucky to have found Dog's True Dream! read more

Maya Phelps is a true dog whisperer! She has been working with my two rambunctious, unpredictable and stubborn Frenchies for two years now. They both showed signs of aggression (mostly with each other) but I was always scared to bring them around other dogs. After her training they are now able to play peacefully with other dogs and are all around happier well behaved dogs. Maya is the only person I trust to watch them when we go away and have never had issue. The only issue is our dogs don't seem to have missed us when we come back. :) She does hikes with them a few times a week with a pack of other dogs and has done boarding for us many times.
