It is sad, because I read the review from Heather H. and I can honestly say that she could not be more wrong. The problem is people think that when they hire a firm, they just sit back and let them do it all. They tell you what you may have to do and when people do not do it, they want to blame the firm. Especially a firm that handles Disability. I guarantee you they did their jobs and went above and beyond, but this woman expected miracles I guess. What struck me from the start was she said it wasn't her choice to use them. That right there tells me she is not the brightest crayon in the box. Because no one forces you to use any attorney! Now her employer may use them, but it was still her choice in the end. My employer used this firm, I understood that and also understood because I am intelligent and do my OWN research that even if this is who your employer refers you, you do not have to utilize the firm. If you do, then they work for you and not your employer. I can tell anyone, NOT A BETTER firm in AMERICA to utilize for your SSI and Disability claiming. I am not in the State where there offices are located. I did my research and they have an impeccable record not only with other colleagues throughout the US, but also with the bar. I was extremely impressed with how they stayed in touch with me through all means, phone, internet etc. The biggest complaints on law firms is they do not return calls. NOT THE CASE. They keep you updated on your case, do not give you false promises and take your case and situation very serious. I was shocked to see her review. She did not tell the entire story because if she did, I bet she did something wrong or expected the firm to handle something they do not. A law firm cannot help you unless you are 100% HONEST and OPEN with them. I was and they explained what to expect, what they could do and could not do. They worked for me and got me the benefits I needed desperately. Without them I would be homeless. This firm and one partner in particular Chris Doherty was so compassionate and cared about me and my illness and what I was going thru. They handled my case as if I was immediate family. Again, you have options. I stuck with them because I felt initially they cared about people and did this type of law because it was something they were passionate about. I was correct. I could not be happier and impressed. They are phenomenal and care. Some people are just miserable and no matter what you do, you cannot please them. I am very studious and expect great service and that is what this firm gave and went above and beyond. I was in BAD shape. They called just to check on me and my health at times. I have no reason to write this, but I cannot let this one poorly expressed opinion be the only one that is posted, because it could not be more wrong. This firm will go to bat for you irregardless of who referred you. Once you are their client, they work for you and no one else but you. They fight until they have your case approved. Couldn't have asked for better representation than Coco Little. So professional, but that perfect amount of personable, that gives you confidence in going through with your SSI/SSDI case. Now, I confess, first, I wasn't under any severe financial strain due to my top-notch LTD insurance policy I had before I had to physically stop working. That gave me the time to see if I could deal with the SSA alone, and quickly came to the conclusion I did not all have the knowledge, skill, or ability to do what Ms. Little did in probably a quarter to half the time it would have taken me. The most important thing is that the process takes a lot of time, dead time on your part, while the firm and Ms. Little are working everyday to affect a positive outcome. When I realized that long stretches of time elapsed between correspondence and phone calls didn't mean that she wasn't all in on my case, that patience indeed is a virtue, and really wasn't under severe financial conditions (read homeless), I relaxed with the knowledge I was being fully taken care of, and just let her initiate any contact she needed with me. Ms. Little knew what to do and I didn't so why not let the professional have it. I did, we won (I don't like that term so much, but I guess I can't think of a better choice of word), and it is all because of Ms. Little's efforts. Since Ms. Little and I have never met in person (thanks to today's technology), all my perceptions about her are generated by her voice and great personality through her voice. I find it amusing in a way that it turns out to be the most supreme and advantageous trait a successful lawyer needs. From the very first contact we had, I felt a sense of calm, assertiveness, knowledge, ability, and great personality all rolled up in one person. It never changed and I can see she will be very successful the rest of her life. Luck she doesn't need, she has everything else. Thank you Ms. Little for helping me in a needful time, and preserving my quality of life. I am forever in your debt. As for the firm, DCK, whomever hired Ms.Little should be given a medal, an expense-paid vacation, a better office, or any kind of acknowledgement because they picked well! Doherty Cella Keane are so awesome I wish there were more than 5 stars to rate! The SS disability process is very difficult and there is NO WAY I could have done it alone. My company offered me the services of DCK and after placing one call, I knew the best team in the world had my back. Within 10 minutes of my call, I received a call back and had the extreme pleasure of working with Laura Cella-Donovan and her staff. After answering multiple questions regarding my disability, I could finally breathe as Laura calmly, and with great passion explained the next steps and what she and her team would immediately do to get the wheels turning! I never expected to need SSDI so I never learned anything about it. So when the time came, I needed knowledgeable help. My LTD company recommended DC&K. As many others who seek disability, it was a shock to my system that I was no longer able to work. I was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer which made very weak. I had a difficult time getting the receptionist to get my message to the right person. Once I got a good email, I quit calling in. The attorney Chris Jones was wonderful.
