Not what it used to be, it was sold and is now vape shop that looks like they're just starting out. Only vapes.

There's something about this place. It sits currently choked by gentrification, new classy buildings cropping up or being refinished (There's a Trailhead (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/trailhead-kingston) and Urban Outfitters right nearby). It stands out, warts and all, like a Metrosexual gentleman who decided to finish off his Dolce and Gabana ensemble with platform shoes. I get the feeling this place looks pretty much like it did when it opened, I'm guessing, some 30 years ago. For a smoke shop, you have your standard issue items; (now concealed in Ontario) cigarette shelf, lottery kiosk, drink coolers, snack racks and shelves and shelves of probably convenience-store-priced food (I was good on Froot Loops so didn't bother to comparison shop). But I like this place and give it mention by the fact that it's staved off the onslaught of prettying up that Princess Street in Kingston is currently doing. It stands apart from the other storefronts, a foil to the new glossiness. And because of that, I'd make a point of going to this place. Hey. Even Cindy Crawford has a mole. read more

I've been to smoke shops before. I hate to stereotype them, but in most cases you're going to have the typical employee who only cares about making a sale and less about the customer. Not only can you not beat Dolan's prices and more importantly quality of products(i dare you to try), but his level of customer service is unmatched. If you ever have a problem with a product, a question, a inquiry, this guy will always be there to help you. It's rare in any business these days that you'll still find someone who believes in making sure the customer is satisfied, there is no doubt that this is Dolan's belief. If you're looking for a smoke shop in Kingston to buy a product, save your time and head to Dolan's first. I promise you, there will be no disappointment. Just went to Dolan Smoking to buy myself a cigar, as I have done in the past, and have given them my business numerous times, experiencing no problems. My younger brother wanted to come along for the ride, and I was told by the two young ladies that I couldn't purchase a cigar from them unless my brother was of age, and provided ID. I would expect that someone would be allowed to enter a store and purchase an item, regardless of who is with them.This was very poor customer service, and a huge waste of my time. I then went to Smoker's Haven, just down the street, and was able to buy my cigar without any issues. read more

Very rude hostile staff. Didn't even bother to look at the selection when customer service is that bad why bother.

Terrible customer service. The woman behind the counter was exceptionally rude even though I was asking for a routine item listed on the web as something they carry. I left without purchasing anything and won't be coming back. read more

Very disappointing experience. This store is not a tobacconist and therefore all the cigars are hidden from site in smaller cabinets. When I said hello to the guy behind the desk her barely looked up from his computer and didn't even reply to me. I looked around a bit and then left disappointed. read more
