I've been going to Dolce Blu for a while now, and can't believe I haven't written a review yet! This is primarily a lash extension place, but they also do lash lifts, microblading, brow waxes, etc. Here are a few of my thoughts: 1. I've been to SEVERAL other lash places, and nowhere has given me the results Dolce Blu has. 2. They have a lot of options - the type of curl you want, if you want volume or classics (multiple lashes on each lash vs. one false lash per natural lash), MEGA volumes (tons of light false lashes per lash) and mink lashes vs. the normal kind (minks are thinner and lighter). 3. They have some great monthly rates that make the lash process more reasonably priced overall. I go for the unlimited, which means I get my lashes done weekly! But it's kind of extra, the every other week program works well for a lot of people. 4. They attract some SERIOUS talent. It'd be impossible for me to call everyone out that I've worked with here, but I'm going to try. Special shout out to Saima, the person I see nearly every week, who does a FANTASTIC job listening to my concerns, working for what I want, being patient with my consistently late self, figuring out why my retention used to be so bad (i was using a very oily liner. My bad, Saima! Glad it's better now!) She recently gave me some mega volumes that are out of this world, plus she's a blast to talk to. She's also super great with brow shaping, if that's something you need help with. If Saima is busy, pretty much every other stylist is great - I've had wonderful lashes and conversation from Jess, great lashes from Yoli, and fantastically fast volumes from Bre. I also adore talking to John, who frequently handles the front desk, and does some BOMB eyebrow microblading. Sometimes you see Brooke's fashionable face at the front too, she's such a pleasure to talk to. Pretty much everyone you see at the front desk is fantastic. Generally you can tell what type of service you'll receive within seconds of walking through the door; although I wasn't a customer I had a really pleasant interaction with the kind woman at the front desk and thought I should leave a review solely based on the interaction I had with her. My car had a flat tire out front and after waiting 2 hours I couldn't wait anymore and needed to find a restroom... Dolce welcomed me with open arms and what really caught my attention was the kindness that I received. Although I was rushing out because I didn't want to intrude, the receptionist at the front desk stopped me and let me know that I could grab water or wait inside in the air conditioning. I had an amazing experience at dolce blue!! I planned to go in for micro blading with Jon. When I got there he discussed The difference between micro blading and Powdered brows. I did micro blading in the past and he said that I was probably a better candidate for powder brows. I went with his recommendation and couldn't be happier! After giving this business great business and fulfilling my contract of one year (see attached), they charged me $99 after my one year contract was over and for which I did not receive service. When I called to tell them to refund me and take my credit card off file, they claimed they do not process refunds but after going through other Yelp reviews it appears they have in the past (see attached). Don't know why they are discriminating against me. I have gone ahead and filed a charge back with my bank but I don't know why they think they can charge me $99 for receiving absolutely nothing. They never called to ask me if I'd like to continue my membership. Why not call your customers and say "We see you don't have an appointments scheduled this month, but you're going to incur a $99 charge. Would like to book an appointment?" At that point I would have said no, my contract ended, please take my card off file. Why would you not call your members and ask them to set up appointments if you're going to charge them? I always consistently booked out my appointments in advance during my contract- did it not seem strange that I had no appointment booked? Seems very sketchy to charge me if I didn't have any appointments booked. Why would I want to give your business $99 for no service? Seems very obvious to me- that the contract ended, I did not renew, did not set up any further appointments, therefore don't charge my card. I have nothing but good things to say about the people that work here. My eyelashes look really good every time. On Friday I had a reaction with my left eye. I am not sure what caused it. That's not the problem here. The response I received from the manager at Dolce Blu was extremely disappointing. I called early the next day to let them know my eye was red, swollen and stinging really badly. I was told the manager would call me back. She never did. My eye got worse as they day progressed. Since I didn't hear back from them. I had to call again, hours later. Her excuse was that they were too busy. At this point I had to go somewhere else and pay to get them removed. At the very least, you'd think I'd get a refund after them not taking responsibility. Well, they told me they'll call me Tuesday when the owner has made a decision regarding my refund. I won't be going back. I'll go somewhere where I know they'll have my back should anything happen. I wish all the best to the girls working there. Management needs to do better. read more

I did not get the length I was looking for, and don't have enough lashes on the inner corner of my eye and she was a little harsh with my eyes. Not what I was expecting for how much I paid. I've gone to Dolce Blu a few times in the past and have always been pleased with the results. Nothing exciting - lash tint. The problem was the tinting didn't last more than a couple of days. So I decided to stop getting them tinted. But yesterday I received a discount of 17% off my next visit so I decided to go online and book. I went out an entire month and there was nothing available! I even checked their closed days (just in case). I thought finding no availability for 30 days was strange as the advertisement had just come out. I knew there was no way they were booked in less than 24 hours. So I removed the posting about the 17% discount and sure enough here come the openings - right and left. I went in last Friday to have Sammi do my lashes and they turned out AMAZING!! She did such an awesome job, I don't even have to put makeup on to feel beautiful! She was so sweet and made me feel completely comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend her! I also had semi permanent freckles done by John. I have received more compliments than I can count after getting them done. I never thought I could pull off freckles but John has changed my mind. He does such an awesome job they'll look good on anyone! He made sure everything was clean and set up before we started and worked efficiently and quickly. My lashes had a lot of glue and were sticking together. Some of them fell out. They were itchy. I reluctantly made another appointment to come in and have them fixed but was charged the full amount for a fill because the manager wasn't available. In addition, the same woman who did the horrible job the first time was the person who ended up "correcting" my lashes at my second appointment. I got my eyelashes done this weekend and I am not happy with them. They look like Britney's from 90 Day Fiance, way too heavy looking for my eyes. Just too much. Everyone there is super nice and I hate leaving bad reviews but when spending that much money I am just not happy when I show a picture of what I want and it doesn't look like it when they are done. As an esthetician I've had my lashes done at countless other places around Austin and have never found a place with as good of customer service as dulce blu or as good of actual lashes. I see Jess and she is the best lash stylist I've found. I can't go to anybody else now. My lashes always look beautiful, Jess nails the look I'm going for every single time and they always hold up twice as long as any other places/stylists lashes do. I gotta say that I'm surprised with all the great reviews. I tried Dolce for about 4 months and every single time my lashes would fall out much quicker than any other lash place. The place is gorgeous and the guy at the front desk is so friendly but my lashes never lasted here. After 4-5 days I was wearing mascara because it looked like I hardly had lashes and they would fall off. I had been getting extensions for two years prior in another state so I knew that something was wrong and I know how to care for them as well so it wasn't that. I have now found another place where the lashes last and last. I never have to wear mascara ever and on top of that - it's 10 dollars cheaper. read more

I got my first set of lashes at Dolce Blu last week after bidding on a gift certificate that was donated to a fundraiser. I paid for an upgrade to mink lashes after being told by the studio that they would last longer. More than half fell off within a week so I went to another lash studio to have them fixed. After fixing the terrible job that was done they informed me that my original set of lashes was not the mink I paid for but actually the normal synthetic lashes. I was seen in Mid-July and at first I wasn't going to write a review but I realized I should even if it is bad. I love my lash extensions but was looking for a place that was closer to where I live now. I decided to give Dolce Blu a try. I was fully aware that they didn't have the length I wanted, when I called I said I specifically wanted 15-17 D's. Yes I want full on Glam!! I was told they don't have the 17's as I found calling multiple places I think there is only one place that actually carries this length. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is very sweet. I showed her a pic of how my lashes are done and I told her I know that she won't be able to achieve the same length but the fullness and shape (dramatic cat eye) I still wanted. During my session she brought over about two other girls to take a look at my lashes and they were all ooh's and ahhh's. As she was finishing up and handed me the mirror I could tell she knew I wasn't happy. I requested volume lashes and I don't think that they were volumes she put on me it was some mixture of various lashes. At least that's what it looked like to me. And as they started falling out thos was confirmed. Some were volumes others weren't. I told her that I wished they were fuller. She kept going on and on about how she knows I was used to a certain length despite the fact that I kept saying I knew that but I wanted them to be fuller. I have a ton of lashes which she complimented me on but I could clearly see I was maybe like 70% full. The last thing she said to me was that I was welcome to see another stylist but she did what she felt was best for the health and integrity of my lashes. I feel that was just a cockamamie statement she made because she knew I wasn't happy. I feel this way because the whole time she kept talking about how I needed to get this lash serum and after 6-8 wks of using that my lashes should be in better shape. As I said before I have quite a bit of lashes they aren't long but I have a TON! If they were long on there own I wouldn't pay for extensions. Maybe she just needed more time to get me fuller. I also wished my shape was a bit more dramatic. Now, as I said I wasn't happy and she knew it so she had the manager come talk to me. Which to be honest irritated me. It did show that they were trying to have good customer service but instead it felt like it was just an act. Because she told me how much she liked it and that it looked good. Well it doesn't matter what you think it's not your lashes. I told her also that I wanted them to be fuller. Then she went on to say that she was her most experienced stylist and I could try another stylist if I wanted. I don't remember what I said I know I smiled and was polite. The manager repeated what my stylist said about that darn serum. As I mentioned the place is gorgeous and located in the Domain which is convenient for me. After my session I was finishing up my paperwork and the receptionist Jonathan (I think that was his name) gave me some wine and he was just a delight. We chatted for some time and he even gave me samples of the serum to try before I buy and I'm so glad he did!!! The serum is Revitalash and it didn't work at all. So I didn't waste any money. For me I had better results using castor oil (which you can't use if you have lash extensions). Now Jonathan told me that they quoted me the wrong price for lashes so I actually payed less than what I was expecting which was nice. Now I wonder if he just did that because he knew I wasn't happy. Lastly, the glue. Now I told my stylist that I have sensitive eyes and asked about glue and requested that she use a glue for sensitive eyes because some other glues it can burn my eyes. She explained that this is caused by humidity in the air and the glue is like melting which is why I feel a slight sting from time to time. She said that she was going to use the glue she normally uses and we can go from there. I should've stuck to my guns and said no use a glue for sensitive eyes. It was the worst!!! My eyes would burn and I would feel miserable. After a week I looked like needed a full set, again I think it was because I was never really full to begin with. I will say this they do say if you aren't happy you have 4 days to come back and they will try to rectify the situation. So you do have that option. I didn't take advantage of this because I feel like you should do it right the first time. Not to mention while I was there I said what my issue was I wanted them fuller. Fix it then. So if I could give 2.5 stars I would. The staff is nice and polite, the place is gorgeous and kept clean. However, I wasn't satisfied with the overall look of my lashes nor the uncomfortable burning or the fact that they didn't last as long as my extensions typically do. read more

I had my eyebrows micro bladed for the first time in my life this year. Three months ago I let this woman that owned a company called be sweet fashion and beauty hear my story. I had full beautiful eyebrows until I started to have health problems and for some reason my eyebrows were falling out. She was rude to me the entire time. She made me look completely different in a forever angry sort of way. This woman not only was rude to me when I let her know I was unhappy she said I had unrealistic expectations of what micro blading was and cancelled all my follow up appointments because she couldn't handle the criticism. I called Dulce Blu three months later after I had to scrub off my skin and the terrible work she did and then give it time to heal. Dolce Blu, formerly Vanity Rocks is a cute eyelash studio and boutique in north Austin. The beds are plush and comfortable and the ladies that work here are stylish and friendly. The boutique carries candles, jewelry and purses and are nicely displayed. I have been a customer for sometime but oddly enough have never laden my lids with anything but mascara and my own lashes. Dolce doesn't widely advertise but this but they do take some customers for eyebrow waxing. I followed my favorite esthetician to Dolce when she started working there. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been coming here for about three months now. I have the membership, it's $169 a month. You get "unlimited" fills, but I believe you can only come four times in a month. This obviously isn't unlimited, but if you need to get your lashes done more than once a week, you're doing something wrong. I did a lot of research before I came here. There are constantly Groupons for this type of service, but most of the places offering a Groupon have crappy reviews. I wanted a full set of falsies for our beach vacay in November, and wanted to be sure I picked the right place... I didn't want some weirdo breathing on my face for two hours or gluing my eyelids together or anything like that. Dolce Blu was at the top of my list, and after I found out my bestie's mom gets her lashes done here and LOVES it, I decided to come here. I LOVE MY EYELASHES. I am obsessed with them. Since I can remember, I've always wanted bigger eyes. There's not much one can do about this predicament, except wear a shit-ton of mascara, which I did up until November of 2012. I am addicted to this place and I loveeee the membership. Nesreen does my fills and she's soooo nice and good at. I got my first full set of lash extensions here for my birthday and I'm satisfied with the outcome, but not in love with them. I did my research before choosing Dolce Blu. I attended their grand opening party at the domain and got to meet some of the technicians and watch a demonstration. They answered all my questions and made me feel confident about choosing them to do my lashes. The girl that did my extensions didn't seem excited to be doing my lashes. She wasn't rude or unpleasant... maybe she was just tired? She didn't really consult with me before she started. Luckily I had done my research and attended the opening and asked questions. I just feel that she didn't take the time to really ask me what I wanted my lashes to look like. I had a clear picture of how thick and long I wanted them, but she didn't ask me. When she was done I didn't love them. I know that it may take a few tweaks and fills before we get them where I want, but I think I would have been happier if she would have listened to what I wanted. I hope I see someone else for my fills. The beds are relaxing and the bathroom is spacious and clean. Overall the facility is nice. Oh and I love their jewelry and accessories they sell.
