Then they told me she didn't do that type of facial, even though her website didn't specify what that type of facial was. NO ONE WOULD DARE CHOOSE SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE THEIR BIOGRAPHY ON THE SAME PAGE WHERE THEY WORK AND WHO HAS ZERO RECOMMENDATIONS! They wanted to charge me 50% the cost of the service to cancel when it wasn't my fault..... really?! I'm not happy with the work done on my face. I understand, since one of the owners spoke to me apologizing at that moment, was friendly and sweet, I took a risk by staying for the new girl to do the facial, without having any references about her. Today is my second day of my nano needling facial and I noticed several scratches on my face. I am very disappointed with how my experience went at Southern Sugar and Brow. She welcomed us to the nail area and asked us if we wanted a drink, etc. She made us delicious cappuccinos, gave us some chocolate, and let us settle in and pick something for the TV. We were soon joined by Irina who worked on my sister's nails. Both women were very easy going and fun to chat with - but if you are someone who doesn't like to chat much, it's not awkward at all to sit in quiet as well. Diana worked on my nails, and I had no idea how much work goes into an E file manicure. She very carefully and painstakingly pressed, lifted, and trimmed my cuticles, prepped my nails, and painted multiple layers of coloring and gloss. She even topped it off with a nice, glowy cuticle oil. The whole thing took 2 hours, she was very patient and diligent the entire time and, wow, the result was amazing. Not to mention, this was all on a Monday evening, which was really flexible of them. The most pleasant surprise of all is that the manicure was about $80 (or $90?) pre-tip. To me, that seemed super affordable considering all the work and time put into the process. I am beyond happy with my result, I'm sure this will last a long while because of the high quality, but I also can't wait to go back!

Being in North Austin, it wasn't too much of a drive to get to (except when there is some traffic because of incapable drivers...), and I had originally booked a manicure appointment estimated to take two hours. I tacked on a pedicure as well because I was quite overdue on that as well! Irina was my tech and two other women were there when I arrived. They offered me a beverage, and when I heard that a cappuccino was an option, I was quick to jump on that! Irina took great care with my nails from start to finish. The reason why the e-file manicure has become so trendy is because of how clean and professional it looks. A lot of work is done on cleaning and tidying up the cuticles so the color looks like it goes all the way down the nail. The effects are supposed to be longer-lasting because of this, which spaces out time between the latest session and the next manicure. The pedicure took about an hour and since it was dry, I also had some of my calluses smoothened out with the sander-like equipment Irina used. Cuticle work was prioritized here too, so my toenails are definitely popping with color. With the cuticles trimmed down, it looks like my toenails are larger since there is more surface area to color in. For both procedures, it cost $180 before tip. The result is so pretty---I don't think I can go back to a regular manicure after this!!
