We stumbled upon this restaurant, while trying to get an Uber to go the main town center with more…read morerestaurants and shops, but all the Ubers kept canceling. I guess it was meant to be. Cheche was one of the more expensive restaurants that we've eaten at in Barcelona, but it was well worth it! The ambiance was great and we loved the interiors. Apparently, this place fills up fast so you'll need to make a reservation. Fortunately, they could seat us at the bar, which faces the kitchen. You can tell the quality of the restaurant by how clean and how organized the kitchen is. The restaurant was still pretty empty when we got there because they had just opened for dinner, so the kitchen staff were just standing by their stations but you could tell they were ready and waiting. The restaurant manager, the hostess and the waiters were very attentive and their service was exceptional! We ordered a bottle of wine, and our waitress did an amazing job with the presentation and made sure that our glasses were topped off. She wouldn't even let me pour it myself. She was very attentive and courteous. The food and plating were phenomenal. The dishes we ordered were quite heavenly and just the right portions. We ordered the following: * Grilled monkish trunk with squid, peas and Iberian dewlap * Grilled hake with Beurre Blanc, white asparagus and spring "ceps" * Pulpo A La Brasa (Octopus - this was probably my favorite) We had the pleasure of watching the staff and kitchen manager do their magic. The way they plated every dish, and their communication and teamwork - they were a well oiled machine. We were very fortunate to have found this restaurant. This was truly the highlight of our entire holiday in Spain. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will certainly be back. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Saludos, CH

Their Gambas à la Plancha looked like grilled shrimp with just a dash of herbs, but the shrimp is of excellent quality and you can taste the freshness of the seafood. Their Paella Marisco was the highlight for me. I'm sure there are many wonderful paella places in Spain, but compared to the ones I've had in the U.S., this one excels in flavor. Their Pimientos de Padron is equivalent to grilled shishito peppers found in many Japanese restaurants back home, but I love the simplicity of this dish. A little bit of rock salt really brought out the natural flavor. The peppers weren't overcooked either. They were the perfect texture. Their Patatas Bravas, quite simple, but yummy nonetheless. Piping hot when it came out. Potatoes were crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. Nice size chunks. Once dipped in sauce, tasty! The Crema Catalana was a nice touch to end dinner. This dessert is the Spanish equivalent of creme brûlée. Theirs was definitely more substantial - richer than most creme brûlées that I've tried and the toasted top layer, definitely well executed. Easy to get to on foot if you stay at a hotel close by. Not too pricey either for the quality of food served. Will definitely eat here if I visit Spain again.

We started with calamari, potatoes, and nuggets -- a delicious warm-up act. Then came the squid paella, which was out of this world. We also couldn't resist the tomato toast, and I'm still craving more even though I'm too full to breathe, let alone order another bite. Oh, and don't skip the sangria -- it washes everything down beautifully.
