    Bomba €2.80

What a nice spot for dinner near the Barceloneta beach! We made reservations on their website but got there 30 minutes late. They were still able to seat us. It's quite tight inside, with tables less than a foot away, but I think that's part of the experience. Servers were wearing masks. I got a taxi ride here from La Rambla area for less than $7/€6. There were some street parking spots but very coveted. *CASH ONLY* establishment and we were notified at the door. Before you enter, check out the menu by the entrance. They actually have no menu, except for the small list by the kitchen. This was the toughest part, trying to figure out what to order. We ended up going off of photos posted on TripAdvisor. (They had high ratings on TripAdvisor, which is how we found this place.) They offer beer, wine, and sangria. I didn't know the prices for anything, which might seem like a red flag for some people. Who knows what they would charge us when the bill came. I had the bomba, which I highly recommend. The croquette was absolutely delicious. I think one order is shareable between two people just to try. The pescadito frito (fried anchovy) was very salty. They served it with a slice of lemon. I had to wash it down with a lot of water. The calamares a la andaluza (fried calamari rings) was very salty as well. The calamari itself was great and very tender. Lastly I had the steamed mussels, which is something I'd come back for. The tomato-based soup was delicious! Service was great. The servers spoke some English. The lady was nice enough to explain some of the food they served. They were busy during a Saturday night.

This tiny magical place is perked behind a busy beach street but shines on it's own. The service is A1. We flew in from NYC with our toddler so we asked a lot of questions about the menu. The waitress answered every one with no issues. We felt super welcome - something we found to be rare in Barcelona if you're American. Food: Get the squid ink croquetas! And the potato balls! And the pan con tomate! And the fish! And some wine! Everything was delicious. Even our toddler ate everything up. Will definitely come back each time we visit BCO.

    Paella

Paella was okay. Also felt it was overpriced. Almost €50 for two. Not sure if that is the norm or not. We also waited 20-30 minutes for our paella when we had a reservation for it weeks in advance. We even told them the time we're going to be there. They didn't make it until we got there. Might be better if we go back during the day to try the tapas. The pictures looked amazing for those!

Great potato Croquette, bit of a kick

Solid 3.5. Definitely overhyped on the 'other' website that says in Top 100, but the potato croquette, chorizo, deep fried squid were tasty but bravas fries, razor clams n escargots just ok. Great red sangria for sure. A bit into the side streets off the main road. Good service n excellent English. Casual bar feel.

We grabbed the only table open when we arrived at 1 on a Monday afternoon. We saw a Cava Sangria (a first) and had to try-light and delicious! They also had Majou Beer (from Malaga) on draft which is hard to find outside of Malaga so had to have one. We ordered a couple of starters and a couple of what I'd say were bigger plates. The pork belly marinated in lime was tasty but the fresh Mackerel stole the show! The Truffled eggs with foie and mushrooms was finished table-side and was amazing. We missed that the Cuttlefish had squid ink-no matter, so light and exquisite-only complaint would be to have more cuttlefish. Service was engaged and friendly from start to finish. Tapeo reminds me of some of the regional restaurants where you want to try the entire menu at once cause it all looks so good. Tapeo is now on the list of "must stops" when in Barcelona!
