There are friendly faces working, a small grocery, and a great butcher shop in the back. I used to go here because it was the only place to get Jones Soda. The last time I was there they didn't have it. I think they stopped carrying it, unfortunately. That's okay, though. The butcher shop in the back is great. The hamburger is particularly good, steaks are good, and their chicken salad is a favorite of me and my family. You only hear good things about the meats from here. There's a reason he's still in business all these years even with competitors like the nearby Sav-A-Lot and IGA. Kroger is only a 15 minute drive. I imagine most people do their grocery shopping elsewhere, at larger and cheaper grocery stores, but when you want some good meat, you come here. The small grocery section they've got here will get you by if you just need a few items and don't feel like making an extra stop. Check it out. Even if you don't need meat-- stop in just to see the place that has been in Martin for forever. Buy a pop and a candy bar or something. I don't think you'll regret it just because it's such a cool, quaint little shop.

If we're in the area and need something from the grocery this isn't our go-to stop, but it's convenient if you're not leaving Martin and need one or two items.

There were lines painted once upon a time... you can sort of see some paint chips here and there. Don't worry too much about it. Just park in a spot that you deem unlikely to be "in the way." Welcome to eastern Kentucky! This store should be able to meet your needs so long as you're willing to accept one of the Save-A-Lot brands. Some aren't good. Others are as good or better than the name-brand product you normally buy. That is not to say you won't find some name-brand foods here. You can get your Pepsi and Coke products (whew!), candy bars, and a lot of meats that you'll be expecting. Don't look for an enormous cereal aisle, though. It accept cards, food stamps, cash, and checks (unless your name is blacklisted at the register for bouncing checks).

Opened here in Prestonsburg in 2023, it took over the Just Save Foods that had been here since 2019. The store manages to compete with the neighboring Walmart because the Walmart doesn't have groceries. All of that is here, from deli to dairy, from butcher to frozen. We had absolutely no problem finding a good selection of snacks including fresh fruit for the drive. Friendly service when we rang up the sale. Easy!
