I often don't like the ones where the shell is coated in chocolate because they're often some manufactured shell dipped in waxy chocolate. Not the case here. The quality of the chocolate this shell was dipped in was excellent. If you're in the area and want a great Italian sandwich, absolutely stop by. The produce is as good and prices are much better. Also Food Lion is always well staffed unlike Harris Teeter which has minimal staffing and finding available staff to assist is sometimes challenging.

On lazy nights when I don't feel like cooking I'll swing by to pick up their fresh hot fried chicken, which is delicious. I don't usually get any sides bc there's been times where they look like they've been sitting out all day, but overall their chicken and pork chops are a big hit. The deli section has pre made subs, salads and cold sides. Their subs and sandwiches are humongous lol. My husband and dad purchased one of their sandwiches but I promise you that sandwich weighed a good 6 lbs lol. It had about 3-4 different kinds of deli meats, cheese, lettuce and I want to say tomato but I could be wrong, but I know it was a hefty sandwich for under $6!! Their 8-9 layer chocolate cake and pineapple cake are big hits in my home. Anytime my parents come to visit I make sure to grab one of each.
