I come in. I see there's no fried chicken. Apparently they stop frying chicken at 6pm. Monica (the manager I spoke to last night) told the manager at the deli that she told me to bring in the chicken. You really think I'm going to save that chicken to bring it to prove that it was dry? I wasn't about to go through the dumpster just for that. Goodness gracious. What's $2.09? Guess it means more than keeping a customer. I Did not get an apology at all. Usually one would get an Oh I'm So sorry about that. I want to fix the problem. Bad customer service. I'll go to Kentucky fried chicken. At least I know the fried chicken is fresh. You should teach you kitchen people to put the older product in the back or on top of the new food so the older food gets sold then the newer on the bottom. I should have known better. As there aren't many grocery stores in Carlsbad, the options are limited and we would normally choose Albertsons for convenience and quality products. Not the case anymore. Their points system has been overhauled and made more difficult to receive customer service for points specifically. The management bullies and belittles some of the checkout staff that are merely trying to work, not a good example to set in Carlsbad.

When we first entered the store (please note that there are cart wipes by the entrance, which is always nice), I was surprised to see a section at the entrance of different jars of salsa, a lot of which were made here in New Mexico. We also saw some boba milk tea and flavored coconut milk drinks with aloe (which are products of Thailand) and ended up purchasing a few. The drinks themselves are actually not too sweet and tasted pretty good. Pricing was ~ $1.29 per bottle, which wasn't bad of a price. The produce section (all the way to the right hand side if you are facing the back of the store) was small but had plenty of variety of both fruits and vegetables. We ended up purchasing cucumbers that were 2 for $1 since it was on sale. I liked the gourmet cheese section with the variety of cheeses available (which is right by the produce section). I also liked the wine and beer section, which was nice to see local beers and wines made here in New Mexico (which I ended up picking up a bottle of New Mexico made Moscato to celebrate my upcoming birthday). We ended up purchasing a few other items in the store, which pricing seemed to be fair for what they were. One thing that I do want to make mention is that we both thought it was kind of weird to see 2 (separate) people in the store shopping without wearing a mask. I know that an employee saw these people but did not bother to tell them (even though there is a sign by the entrance to inform customers that they are required to wear a mask before entering). But other than that, we had a good experience on this shopping trip and would definitely be a regular if we lived in this area.

On one occasion, I mentioned that the entrance had an unpleasant odor like body odor it hits you in the face when you open the door the next time, I did come in the smell was not there. Today, I called the store to schedule a Hydrotherapy appointment. I spoke with a gentleman who informed me that Amy's available slots for these appointments are at 1:00-2:00 PM or 2:30 PM. I explained that these times wouldn't work for me and asked if there were other options. He mentioned that Amy might be flexible with her schedule. I then checked my calendar to see if I could accommodate one of the regular times, as he also mentioned there were available slots in August. He then asked what time would work for me, and I replied with 5 PM. He immediately responded, "Blah, I don't think Amy will do that," cutting me off before I could finish. I was about to suggest 5 PM this week or 12:30 PM next Monday if that was possible, but I never got the chance. So, I said, "Um, okay, never mind." He responded, "No, Jessica, what is it? Well, what is it?" I told him I would find another place for the treatment. He said something I couldn't hear, and I ended the call by telling him his response was rude before hanging up. I already felt uncomfortable discussing this appointment with a man, and his rudeness made it even worse. Hydrotherapy involves being partially exposed, with only a blanket covering you, so it's crucial for me to feel comfortable with the staff and the environment. This comfort is essential for a positive experience. I will no longer shop here!

I wish I had pictures of the marvelous rows of supplements and herbs. we were going to the caverns the next day and I was desperate for something for dizziness. on top of that I am allergic to SOOO many things but the gentleman was excellent at helping me read labels and find what I needed. thanks to his help I was able to sleep without the room spinning and enjoy the hours at the caverns. that is the place to go if your not finding what you need lsewhere.

I went to register 3, the clerk was talking to another clerk, she turned to look at me, turned back around and started talking to her again. My friend I was with had to ask her if she was open and she said ya I'm open. By that time, I had already left. I then went to the self check out and proceeded to check myself out. The clerk that was manning that area walked off, no problem, however I ran into an issue and needed her help, but she was nowhere to be found, so we had to go find someone else. When she returned, I had another issue with scanning up an item. She told me it was because my friend picked up a bag before it was time, yet it still would not let me continue ringing up my item. She walked over with a terrible attitude and repeated what she already told us and told me there was nothing she could help me with that it had to fix itself. This stores customer service is awful!!! Its a shamebecause I really like the deli and a few other things I can't get anywhere else, but I dread going in fear of how I will be treated.
