You go to this store if you're stuck on the 8 Perrysville or 13 Bellevue bus. Or you live right next door perhaps. The produce was so incredibly sparse, and low quality, that I thought I was in Soviet Russia. Iceberg lettuce? Ya think? Can I buy some? No. About half the produce section was empty. Are they about to close this store? That would be an improvement. I feel that Giant Eagle corporate simply has no self-respect, to allow this store to continue to operate the way it does with their name on it. I will never go back to this store, except for the Pharmacy, and then probably just until I find someplace else. The Pharmacy is good, I will give it that. Clearly the mis-manager has no input into the running of the pharmacy. So there's that. Seriously, this is the worst Giant Eagle you are likely to find. The worst I have ever been in, and I've been in many. In fact, right after this review I will slice my "advantage" card in two and write of Giant Eagle for good. I have Aldi, I have Trader Joe's, I have Sam's Club, etc. I am not stuck for grocery shopping and I feel there is no reason to ever shop there again. And this isn't just a one-off. I've been suffering at that awful place for years, off and on. And from now on, it is off. Good riddance West View Giant Eagle. And good riddance, Giant Eagle generally. The only reason I didn't give it one star is that I didn't see any rats.

The older I get, the more I like the smaller independent grocery stores. Shop n Save is one of…read morethose stores. I often find myself there on my way home from work for essentials but also some amazing deals. They have great customer service and specials to keep up with the larger chains. For example, their 5 fo $19.99 deal. Selected meat and frozen items, mostly well over the $4 mark individually, can be mixed and matched and as long as you buy 5, the cost collectively is $19.99. It usually means I get at least one of the items for free. The selection changes daily but I've purchased steaks, burgers, ground meat and any number of frozen items (pizza, fries, burritos) to stock up cheaply. They also have special two day deals on Thursdays and Fridays that are often unbeatable. And let's not forget Wacky Wednesdays! They may not have the longer hours or wide selection on specialty food items that the larger stores do, but they more than make up for it with their hometown feel.

When we placed the order, we specifically asked if the employee could slice one piece first so that my blind mother could feel and determine whether it was thin enough. The employee, a man wearing a face and neck mask known as a gaiter did not acknowledge our request and immediately began slicing. While he was slicing, I politely said, "Sir, I just want to make sure you're slicing it thin." His response was, "It's thin," in a very dismissive and abrasive manner. After he placed the cheese on the scale, we explained that we would like it sliced thinner. He took the cheese back and sliced it again, but did so with a great deal of attitude. The entire interaction was uncomfortable and unnecessary. On the second order he sliced one piece and allowed my blind mother to feel it and confirm that it was thin enough. Had he simply followed our request with the first cheese, there would have been no need to slice it again or have an unpleasant interaction. We understand that working in a busy grocery store can be demanding, and we are not expecting special treatment. However, customers should be treated with basic courtesy and respect. We are choosing to spend our hard-earned money at your store, and while the quality of the food is important, the quality of customer service matters as well. I hope this interaction can be addressed with the employee so that other customers do not experience the same kind of treatment. We would appreciate knowing that this concern has been taken seriously. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

It contains departments for fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, seafoods, snacks, canned and boxed foods, frozen foods, beverages, dairy and eggs, household essentials, etcetera. Most foods are conventional, and not many are organic. I think that the prices are comparable to what other grocery stores charge. Kuhn's also sells postage stamps, money orders, lottery tickets, bus passes, cigarettes, etcetera. For over a decade, I have been a customer of this Kuhn's location off and on. For my most recent visit, my husband and I did our regularly weekly grocery shopping. The shelves, freezers, refrigerators, and racks were fully stocked and organized. No employees greeted us as we walked around, but the cashier and bagger spoke nicely with us. Unfortunately, after they scanned and bagged all of our items, their payment software rebooted, and we had to wait several minutes to pay. My husband called the employees "amateur" for not rebooting the software before the store opened. When I got home, I noticed that a package of English muffins that was supposed to contain 6 muffins actually contained only 5 muffins. I am not sure if the food manufacturer did not pack the sixth muffin or if someone in the store stole it.
