I love supporting a local business and a woman owned business. She has different vendor events throughout the year supporting other local business people who come and set up inside of her shop. This gives you a really unique way to get one of a kind clothing and jewelry, but not everyone else will have. Plenty of home decor, and the owner also makes unique floral designs and wreaths as well. Brookville is an entire experience. Quaint little downtown where you can walk and get a coffee, go to a restaurant and then just enjoy the charm of window shopping in a clean safe little town that feels like you just rewound 20 or 30 years. Make sure on your trip to drive over to the Brookville Dam area and take a walk on the causeway. This is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.

The shop is part gift shop, part pharmacy and then there are medical supplies. And least I forget, alcohol! The gifts are a wide range of spring items including baby clothes, wind chimes, jewelry and more. Everything was neatly organized. They had the cough drops that I was looking for. The clerk put her call on hold to ring me out. The pharmacy is located across from the courthouse in a historic part of town. There is free street parking with a 2 hour limit.

I don't remember how much it was here the first time I came months ago, but I know it wasn't $5 a wash, which is what it is now. The smaller washers are super tiny and cost $3.25 a wash. That's insane. Right now I'm sitting in my car while my things wash because it's so stuffy and warm in there I was sweating just standing there. I'm not sure about vending or the bathroom or even the dryer cost right now, but just the wash prices alone are enough to keep me from coming back. Oh, and the washer I chose to use I had to insert almost every one of the 20 quarters multiple times because they'd either get stuck, and I'd have to smack the machine to get them to come back out, or they'd just come back out on their own. Very few actually went in the first time. Lastly, one washer was full of what looked like washed paper balls that had shredded in the wash, and they were all over the floor in front of it. Whoever did it didn't care to clean up the mess they made. I'm not surprised. EDIT: I just switched to the dryers. When I put my wife's load in, that dryer had no issues with the quarters, but mine had the same issue with inserting them as my washer. The upside is, you get 8 minutes per quarter. There's one drink vending machine and it's $.75 for a can of soda, but the entire thing is sold out.

I had wine- along with $150 worth of groceries- but was told I could not purchase the wine unless my daughter and I both showed IDs that were over 21. Idiocracy! I could not buy wine bc my kid went to the store with me. FYI, idiots of Walmart, you have no liability once I leave your store for anything I do with anything I buy. So, if a 55 year old wants to buy wine, she should be able to do it no matter who she's with. My family and I will shop elsewhere when visiting Oxford.
