But needed to see to do something different. Popped in the downtown segment of Clayton, I walked the sweet lil shops and stumbled upon this. Mostly it's for hikers, they have a lot of supporting equipment, not as extensive as REI but some. Also their claim to fame are the tee shirts. Which I happily bought and a cap. Staff was incredibly pleasant and friendly. The icing on top of the cake is the library downstairs. If you love to read, they have a series of interesting choices along with some regional history books. Go check this place out.

The listed address shows as in the center of Clayton. It's not - the market is north of town. Lot of stuff including both new and used. If you're looking for old cast iron cookware, they've got it. Easy parking on the left side of the building as you come off the highway. The entrance is on the left side, too. Although it was closed at the time we were there, the Wicked Pig BBQ restaurant is located in the back of the market. You can access it either from outside the building or from inside the market.

I stopped by this BP gas station in Clayton, Georgia on the way back to Atlanta from Asheville…read more There are a handful of gas stations on the stretch of Highway 441 that runs through Clayton. This is just one of them. There's a RaceTrac too. This BP is clean, inside and out. The pumps are nice with multiple displays per pump. I used pump #7 and filled up on premium unleaded for $2.619 per gallon, which wasn't a bad price at the time. The convenience store is called Circle M and inside, I noticed the employees wore Clipper Petroleum shirts. Clipper operates the Circle M stores, which used to belong to ExxonMobil (http://clipperpetroleum.com/History). The employees were these sweet little old ladies. The lady who checked us out was named Thelma. We picked up some Slim Jims, Combos, Lance crackers, and an Honest Tea and Dasani bottled water for the road. The store was spacious, clean, and seemed to have a little bit of everything. It wasn't up to QuikTrip standards, but it was sufficient for what we needed. I'd stop here again.

I've been to quite a few Walmarts in my Yelping and this is one of the nicest and best organized outside of Northwest Arkansas. I was able to pick up a few supplies from the deli and dairy section without difficulty. I took a look through the RV equipment and found it to be well stocked. Self-checkout worked just fine without any issues. Outside, the parking lot was clean with no trash. Some carts in the corrals when I turned in at 9:30pm but they were gone in the morning.
