They've always got a lot more furniture than goodwill and other thrift stores so that's usually the main reason I go, but last time I went they had a lot of gardening supplies and paint for great prices. The woman who manages the store is very outgoing and great at her job. The other employees have also been welcoming. I'm sure I'll be back soon to browse the new items.

There are 3 grocery stores I end up at regularly in this general area depending on what part of the…read morecounty I'm in that day but I wager I'm at this particular Food Lion 2-3 times per month and have been for the past two years or so. It's actually gotten better over time particularly in terms of meat and produce selections. The store is clean and the service, particularly the front end, is usually pretty friendly and efficient. Checking out, though there is no self-service option, is usually pretty quick as I've rarely been in line more than 5 minutes or so. Produce options are usually pretty good and as mentioned have gotten better over the past year or so. You're not going to get everything that a Kroger or up might offer but you're far better off than at a Walmart. I have never seen anything wilted or rotten and prices are competitive. Meat---there isn't a fresh meat cut-to-order counter but there's a nice selection of fresh chicken, beef and pork. Seafood used to be sorely lacking but it's gotten much better recently. Of course, much of it though in the fresh department is from frozen but then again, Middle TN isn't ocean-front and seafood does turn fast. Aisles, Dairy, Bakery and Deli are all decent to solid. There are always certain items missing that are regulars on my list that I have to wait for another grocery trip to get and my wife has even listed those items on comment cards to no avail but really they have the staples and they have decent prices. Oh---they also now carry wine, a surprisingly strong selection of it and not a bad beer selection either.

One of the first places I went to was Brights Antique World, I was amazed by the size, the inventory, and the friendly staff. Jodi, the manager is always helpful and truly works hard to keep the store running well. Linda and Riley are down to earth hard working people who truly care about their business. They do all sorts of little things to help customers out. They have benches in all the hallways to sit for a spell if you get tired, they have waters and such for a nominal price, they have good lighting and plenty of room to walk in the halls, there is plenty of parking as well. They have the flea market on the first and third Saturday's of the month. Riley works hard to make this an excellent place to shop or sell. It has a roof that not only covers the sellers but the customers as well. The prices of the antiques do vary and are competitive, especially when you consider a trip to McDonald's for two averages between $20-$25. Life is expensive these days!

We asked to see an item in a display case to which we bought, as well as several other items. While my wife was waiting on the lady to get back with the key, I walked down the aisle looking at other booths. My wife catches up later and told me that lady is extremely grumpy. I didn't think much about it until we were checking out. The cashier rang up our items and all we had were $100 dollar bills. The change part of the total was 17 cents and my wife said "I have exact change if that will help". The cashier took the change and this manager came over and said, "give me that, she is just trying to mess you up". I waited until everything was finished and we were given the receipt. Then I told the manager the statement she made was uncalled for. She said that it wasn't and sarcastically told me to have a good day. I said, "really, that is how you treat customers? What did we do wrong? She told me to have a good day again (as sarcastically as she could) and to not come back. Well, there are no worries there. Nick wears a size 14, and I wear a size 10. Shopping for shoes is not easy for us. This place has an excellent selection for people with larger feet. The store carries mostly adult shoes. Shoe styles and brands range from Fyre to Nine West and Cole Hann. You can find boots, heels, dress shoes, summer styles and tennis shoes. There are also some women's clothing in the store. My only issue with not giving this place 5 stars is that the prices are still a little high for used or discounted shoes. While the shoes are in excellent condition, it is still a little bit on the pricier side.
