There's been a lot of talk about Trosa Thrift store around town lately. I've seen it all over…read moresocial media so a friend and I decided to check it out on a Friday afternoon. Trosa is located on Peters Creek Hwy in the Food Lion strip center at the Clemmonsville exit. It's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking which I love. Right inside the door is their whole furniture section, they have tons of tables, chairs, dressers , etc. they even have a whole section of office specific furniture. The prices are very reasonable. This would be a furniture flippers paradise. Towards the back they have shelves of everything from pillows to whole sets of dishes, sports equipment and the most medical mobility equipment I've ever seen anywhere. I'd say, if you are in need of a walker, a bath seat or portable toilet for someone look here because they probably have it at a fraction of the cost it would be to purchase new or rent. The clothing is grouped all together but they aren't keeping it organized as well as it needs to be. All different sizes were mixed in together and I quickly got frustrated and gave up. Both of us had found an item in the kitchen area we wanted so we headed to check out. The workers were very friendly as well. I'll definitely be checking out Trosa regularly in the future. Trosa supports substance abuse treatment. If you want to donate to them, they offer pick up for larger items or you can bring your items to their donation drop off around the back of the store. Just follow the signs.

Wow. This antique mall is huge with numerous vendors offering a wide variety of antiques. There are…read moredifferent sections to this antique mall and you can easily get discombobulated. Some vendors have staff that can help you find something in particular while others didn't have anyone proving service. I came across numerous cast iron pans and a few pots and several with brand names I've never seen previously. Most seemed to be priced quite reasonably. One particular vendor had crates and crates of old albums from the 50's through the 80's and it brought me back to my teens going to our local music store and browsing through each record. I'll definitely be going back around Christmas to get several. The prices ranged from $2.00 - $5.00 for the albums with the average being $5.00. There is one central check out location by the exit and it seems to move quickly.

Do these same complainers whine about that? You just deal with the rules that they have because you know what they are. I very much enjoy shopping here and digging through the bins. You never know what you're going to find. Yes, there are many things concealed in brown boxes or packaging where you have no idea what's inside, but if you scan the Amazon barcode with your Amazon app you can usually find out what it is. If that doesn't work, you can take it to the back where they will open it for you to inspect. They discourage customers from opening packages themselves because parts and pieces get easily get separated if not closed properly, making an item incomplete for the next person who might be interested. I've never been on the more expensive days, but my favorites are the $3 and $1 days. They do tend to be crowded but you can get some real steals. Give them a chance. If one time you go and you don't find much of anything, try another week. Some weeks are awesome and others are not, just depending on what they get from Amazon.

Prices were extremely high across the board, and a lot of booths had items that looked like they were straight from Amazon, Shein, or Temu but marked up significantly. That alone was frustrating, especially for a place marketed as an antique destination. The staff we encountered were also not friendly, which didn't help the experience. On top of that, there was a live band playing somewhere on the property, and the sound carried throughout the entire building. It was loud enough that everyone in our group ended up with a headache, which made it really hard to enjoy browsing.
