Every single week they post photos of mostly their regular customers who "Find" and "Score"

I've driven to this WYB Concord location 4x and 3x out of that it was on a Friday morning right at opening. I spoke to an employee there, older woman with white hair who mostly works register, asking why they post pictures the same people with good finds on the WYBC pages cause i felt discouraged to find what i was looking for or find something "good". She looked at me like i was dumb and said "What do you mean these people ASK to get their photos taken" i laughed and said okay and just went on about my business looking through the bins only to notice her just chatting it up and laughing it up with one of their regulars that is posted damn near every week. Whatever i let it slide. I went last weekend at 715 i was there bright and early at the front door. When it was almost time to open, im assuming she was the manager, started giving out numbers from 1-6 to people who were behind "the white line" (the fire lane) i didnt KNOW i had to be out in the fire lane grouped up regulars to get a "number" that way you stand BEHIND the chalk written number on the sidewalk/entry way to THEN have the manager roll a DICE 5x so the 1-6 number lines would have an order in which they would go in based off what the dice falls on. I was the second person there that morning just to be the last person there to actually get into the store. By the time i got in people already had carts loaded. Safe to say i wasted my time there since the regular that came in before me found the item i was looking for. I asked nicely if she would be willing to let me buy it in the store since she was going to resell it and her partner came in the conversation and stated hed only sell me the coffee machine i wanted for $80 in the parking lot. Like, huh? Anyway, this week they held their "giveaway on facebook where if you post a find in the comment section youre entired on a "random drawing" to win early entry on $14 or $.50day. I DID NOT comment to be entered for the giveaway because i wanted to see how the drawing works for future reference since i had NO IDEA about the whole fire lane, thrown dice, number nonsense (which nowhere on their pages it explains how it works or that they do this, not even their Facebook LIVES) Anyway they posted the winner yesterday and the winner was nonother than the same woman who has her own business with these products and is photographed every single week. Like does she work for these people? Im confused. I just dont understand how its fair to other people who entered the drawing when the regulars already have essentially early entry every week. I made a comment on the winning post "Not yall playing favorites" and that ruffled feathers among this regular woman and what a coincidence that WYBC's employee older woman with the white hair, directly commented onto the post calling me a "hater" because i didnt win? I clocked lil mama quick "Bestie dont you work there?" Like idk but it just looks weird, it looks sus and that got the page admin to BLOCK ME from the whole WYBC Facebook page. So what exactly was the reason they blocked me unless what i was saying was either true or it made someone feel some type of way. Maybe explain how this location does things? Explain how $14 ENTRY works. Have an item/cart limit to all customers in order to give NONREGULARS an opportunity to get something good. Having variety of people with good finds would bring more business and wont make people feel discouraged and won't make the business look so BIAS. An opportunity to improve cause of feedback would have been a more professional response but instead i was blocked for something so silly. You might want to visit another location if you want to find a gift for a loved one or you can pay 3x more of the item to a regular in their parking lot. Crazy.

We got stopped at the door on our first attempt to visit the store. My partner's handbag was supposedly too large for their liking. She was rudely told to leave. It wasn't even big. We chose to return a day later and give it another try. We were careful not to bring anything with us. We viewed all of their posted signs to make sure we didn't violate one of their many rules. As protective as the jerk at the door was of their precious merchandise I expected nicer things than what I saw in those bins. It was difficult to maneuver around the bins. The store has banned stollers but shopping carts blocked the aisles. I did see a few nice things mixed in the lot. It was $10 dollar day but many of the items that I wanted weren't worth $10. It almost felt like a competation among the scroungers to find a deal hidden in the pile "stuff." I found it to be stressful. I will look for a good deal elsewhere. The employees need to be appreciative of their customers. A little respect and kindness goes a long ways.

This is the sign outside the door.

I really enjoyed my time there. I can't wait to go back. Sorry there were so many bad reviews. I wanted a new case for my phone. I found one and several other things.

A bit junky, but that's ok... it's a discount store, right? Good values overall, and super ones…read moreoccasionally. I especially like the 15-25% off days I just missed one :( That's when I stock up on my favorite coffee brand! They have quite a good selection. I am definitely a "name brand" person... so that is a bit of a drawback; but on some things, the brand doesn't matter so much. Check out is my main complaint... they have changed the routing to the check out counters; so you are stuck in line without anything fun/interesting to top off your cart. It would be nice to be able to build up points to use at later dates, in addition to their planned discount days.... as a partially handicapped person, it is sometimes difficult to navigate when the store is so crowded. Overall, a good store who doesn't try to be more than they are! js

This is a good place to shop during the holidays. The key is to shop early!…read moreYesterday, I went there for some socks that they advertised on their website, the app, an email and the flyer that they send via USPS! It was pouring raining outside so I knew I could take my time while I was there! Because, I'm here from Atlanta I'm not that familiar with this location! When I walked in I asked an associate where were the socks. She sent me in the wrong direction, so I asked another and she told me where they were. I found the socks and was looking for the ones that was in their ads. They wasn't their nor was there a sign showing that they might have been there! I must have spent pretty close to 20 minutes looking for these socks. They were not there! At this point i'm thinking "bait n switch!" This was not the 1st time I've shopped this location based on something that was listed in their ads and ran into the same results! I made my way to what is left of their toy section! That's when I notice this tall black guy following me! I knew he was following me because, I made my wat to the book section and he was there too three isles over just standing there! I purposely took my time looking for books for a 2 yrs old. And sure enough he was still there watching me. Finally, the rain eased up and I took my items to the checkout and he was there too! He made a purchase and I remember thinking, maybe he was a customer, until instead of going out the door, he walked to the back of the store. I get it, shoplifting is a issues especially in today economy, but everybody is not a shoplifting! And being followed around a store that practice "bait n switch" really made me feel some kind of way! I'm angry, but I get it! I'm not just a customer, I 'm a member and I have the app! #ollies #baitnswtich

A great opportunity to find your treasure. Loads of bins with stuff such as toys, housewares,…read moreclothes. tools, games, some food products, cosmetics, etc. basically, Amazon returns. Boxes are sealed and can't be opened. Most unlabeled. However, one can bring to a station where employees will open the box for you. Prices change from day to day. Thursday I believe is the cheapest. Consider it a fun thing to do on a rainy day. We spent a couple hours looking at the stuff in the bins. You might find your treasure there. There are strict rules, which they announce over a speaker, don't open packages or boxes or they will ask you to leave. I came home with a teapot, ceramic pie dish, toddlers dress, toddler toys, Halloween decoration, can of Planters peanuts, kitchen sponges, rose hand cream, tablecloth, leather repair kit, pkg of tarps, cleaning products. On the day that I went, each item was three dollars. I think I did good and was satisfied.

I would strongly recommend removing references to the manager's race and statements such as "seemed…read moreon something" or comments about her appearance. Those statements can undermine an otherwise credible review and may cause readers to focus on that language rather than the actual issues you experienced. A stronger review focuses on the conduct, not personal characteristics. I have shopped at this store many times, and while the merchandise can be hit or miss, the prices are generally reasonable. However, I am writing this review because of a deeply disturbing experience involving a manager and the display of adult products. I was shopping with my 5-year-old and 8-year-old sons when one of them picked up what was clearly an adult toy. Several of these items were displayed openly in a bin that was easily accessible to children. As soon as I realized what it was, I took it away and approached the manager politely. I simply mentioned that these products should not be displayed where young children can easily access them, especially during the summer when many families are shopping with children. Instead of addressing my concern, the manager immediately became hostile. She told me that if I did not like it, I could leave the store. When I attempted to calmly explain my concern, she repeatedly interrupted me, stated that she did not have time to talk to me, and told me to leave. She further stated that those products were not being sold from inside the package and that I should simply take my children and leave. She then threatened to call the police, despite the fact that I was calm, respectful, and merely raising what I believed was a legitimate concern regarding child access to adult products. I left because I was with my children and did not want the situation to escalate. However, I was shocked by the manager's behavior. No customer should be treated with such disrespect for politely expressing a concern. What makes this even more troubling is that this was not the first time I had witnessed this particular manager behaving aggressively toward customers. While many employees at this location have been courteous and professional, I previously observed this manager engaged in a heated confrontation with another customer and speaking in an extremely hostile manner. My concern remains the same: adult products should not be displayed in a way that makes them easily accessible to young children in a family-oriented retail environment. Whether customers agree or disagree with that concern, they should be able to express it without being threatened, dismissed, or ordered out of the store. This experience left me disappointed and concerned, not only about the store's product placement decisions but also about the professionalism and conduct of its management. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, especially when raising concerns involving the welfare of children. This version is stronger because it sticks to observable facts, clearly describes the manager's conduct, and keeps the focus on the issues that other customers and corporate management are most likely to take seriously. Please parents be aware of these behavior specially when going there with your kids. Very unlikely I would be able to go there at least for long time or at least this particular woman is long gone or some change of monument again.
