Since my gas purchase was around $32, I notified my bank. Bank informed me that "Somewhere around Thanksgiving, Pilot starting putting these huge pre-authorization holds on gas purchases. It should fall off in a couple of days." Again, I've been stopping here 2-4 times a month for several years without this happening. Not a fan anymore.

He made absolutely no eye contact! I tried to start small talk by saying, " It's crazy that it's October, and Christmas stuff is already out!" He said in the most dry monotone voice, "yeah, it can happen like that sometimes." I know Charleston, is a small town with very little excitement outside of the college atmosphere, but customer service and a pleasant demeanor is not optional. We chose a specific delivery date so it could get to the birthday girl on her actual birthday. I 100% understand certain flower shortages right now but would have just appreciated the heads up! We didn't have a strong preference on the type of flower, we just wanted something bright and beautifully bloomed to give. Long story short, the representative I talked to (not the owner, I forgot her name) made it right! She was kind and wanted to do what she could.
