I typically don't write reviews, however after last night's experience, I absolutely had to share…read morethis. My fiancé and I recently moved to Trenton so he could attend the Lineman school here. Since moving, we've been adjusting to living on one income and it's been financially challenging due to the amount of time it took me to find a job. When we got to the register, we realized we were $1.23 short. It may not seem like much, but in that moment it felt incredibly heavy. As we were trying to decide what to put back, our cashier Jacob quietly walked around the register and paid the difference himself without hesitation. He didn't make a big scene or make us feel embarrassed -- he simply chose kindness. That small act meant more to us than he probably realizes. After months of stress and uncertainty, the Lord really reminded us that there are still genuinely good people in this world. Jacob, thank you for your compassion and generosity. You made a difference for us that night. Ingles is lucky to have someone like you on their team -- he absolutely deserves recognition and a raise!

This Ingles sits just off of 59 in Trenton and seems to be the anchor of this exit. While grocery…read morestores are not normally on my itinerary on road trips, I made the pit stop into this Ingles for a potty break due to the neighboring gas station not having facilities available...and since I was already there, I did a bit of browsing and shopping. The store, like most Ingles, is a bit dated and worn. The brand is not known for shiny new and updates stores, so this location is definitely "classic". Since I was traveling, I stayed in the interior aisles and picked up a few snacks and staples that I needed, saved me a trip closer to home. I will say that Ingles is a bit pricey compared to other grocery stores, surprisingly so on majority of the items I scoped, fresh food and all. Check out was okay. The cashier was nice, but not "friendly" or engaging. I get it is a transaction, and it definitely felt just as such. Overall, I get the need and dependence on this location for the local community. Good spot for groceries, just a bit high on prices and service could use some tweaks.

Taking only back roads from my home in rural West Georgia, with its easy access to the unique…read morebeauty that is East Alabama and through the cotton-laced back roads of North Alabama, through stunning Little River Canyon, DeSoto State Park and over, legendary and beautiful, Lookout Mountain, every trip that way culminated in a stop at Tiger Lily in quaint Fort Payne, after my father relocated to Hollywood, Alabama, a few years ago. Although he had lived all over the country during his eighty-three years, from his birthplace in the green mountains of Vermont, to the gentle slopes of central Texas, it was in Sweet Home Alabama, where he ultimately found, and felt at, peace. Even though it is just about my favorite way to spend two and a half hours, after my dad passed, on 12.23.23; I stopped making that gorgeous ride simply because I thought that it might break my heart in two, and then life got busy, giving me an acceptable excuse not to go, despite desperately missing it and secretly wanting too. Recently, my, wise, husband, who knew that I really yearned to make the trip, but needed a push, that he believed might, ultimately, heal me, said, "Hey; it's Christmas at Tiger Llly, let's take a ride!" and so we did, and then we traveled a little further North and left a shiny and new, vintage inspired, ornament we bought at Tiger Lily at my dad's final resting place, and with that, I knew that, while cancer had ravaged his mind, and his body, his soul was truly at peace and it confirmed that I had lovingly fulfilled every promise I had ever made to him, and that I could be free, and at peace, too... I have never ordered flowers from Tiger Lily, so I can't speak to that experience, but what I can say is that I have had an extraordinary time every time I've shopped at Tiger Lily, and my experience has never been anything less than a 10/10! The store is stunning, throughout the year, but ... especially during the holidays, and it has become a sure fire, and favorite, dopamine rush! I have always found every employee I have ever interacted with to be both lovely and helpful as I slowly, very slowly, peruse every nook, cranny and corner of the store as if it is my full-time job! As a result, it is extremely easy for me to highly recommend this magical gift shop and the equally magical "elves" who work there! Tiger Lily is just one of the many things that makes Fort Payne, and the surrounding area, so incredibly special, so memorable, and, in my opinion, the best of what America has to offer and should strive to be, and I genuinely hope that I am able to discover and experience every single one of them in my lifetime!
