The flea market has a very wide variety of items from antiques to tools to food to household supplies to blankets and vegetables and dog bones. Not much changes from year to year, but you end up wanting to keep going back for the tried and true favorites (we tend to pick up big jugs of Maple Syrup when we're there), and the special finds (on our last trip we bought a beer stein). The prices aren't always cheap -- the vendors who deal in antiques tend to know what their wares are worth, but most are willing to haggle. You have to pay to park -- I believe it's $5. You can also park across the street in someone's yard for $2 if you'd like to save a little a walk a smidge farther. We typically go the yard route simply because it's a little quicker to get in and out. Expect to spend 2 hours or so walking around if you want to see everything and bring the sun screen -- there isn't a lot of tree cover.

The items you will find in this store range from slightly used clothing (not a huge selection, but something for everyone), household items, books, CD's, toys, seasonal items (GREAT Christmas finds), furniture, TV's that work and are plugged in, and the list just is endless. I went there a few days ago to do a bottle redemption; I had a bag full of 7 bottles, but only one bottle was accepted. The rest were rejected. And all the bottles I tried putting in the machines were brands carried by Wegmans (Brisk, Vitamin Water, Snapple, etc), plus they had 5¢ deposits marked on them. I tried feeding them into the machines, but I kept repeatedly getting error messages from the machines. Customer service did squat for me except give me 5¢ for the one bottle that was accepted. Come here for groceries, but go elsewhere for bottle redemption.

I found a Swiss Gear laptop/tablet back pack for $30. Regularly $75. Plus I will be able to put my passport and other important items in it. Great store if you're like me and want to find some great travel items at super low prices. After fueling up, we walked inside to what's a well-stocked convenience store that's fairly large, with the "Nittany Cafe" staring us in the face and good smells coming from its kitchen. Sometimes after a stressful experience, a bit of food and drink is what's needed to recover. Had a tasty turkey sammie combo, expertly made and toasted, and reasonably priced. The menu is pretty extensive, actually. There's 2 seating options: an inside dining area with good AC or outside, with picnic tables and umbrellas. Bought more provisions before departing (with a full tank this time). And a new lease on the day. I won't forget, and am grateful for, this place!
