I'm updating my review because there's been more improvements. Subs: 3.5 stars out of 5. They really are delicious with high quality ingredients. In store sub line still sucks and it's still slow, but if you pre-order on the app for pickup it's great 80% of the time now. They did cut the meat portions by like 50% in the last 2 1/2 years,forget things like the extra oil on the side, cut it wrong, forget toppings, skimp on toppings... here and there, but it's better than it was. Sushi: 4.5 stars out of 5. Filling portions have gone down some in the last 2 1/2 years, but quality is still good. It's rare to get old mushy avocado in their sushi now. They always have great new rolls to try. Staff are always friendly working that section too. Pizza: 3 stars out of 5. Staff really like to chit chat with the already snail slow sub station staff and take their sweet time. Skimpy on toppings. Not very good pizza especially in NY where we have amazing pizza all over. Deli: 5 stars Always well stocked with friendly fast staff and great selection. Butcher: 5 stars Always great cuts of meat to make the higher costs more worth it most of the time. Steak cost is out of control though compared to other local places. Always clean with friendly staff. Cheese section: 5 stars really great selection and staff. Flourist: 5 stars Perfect long lasting beautiful bouquets for every season and holiday. Produce: 3.5 stars out of 5 They are okay. Some things really don't last very long once you get them home especially the extremely expensive premade fruit trays and salads. Cashiers: 5 stars so fast and friendly in both sections now! Customer service desk: 5 stars great! Grocery pickup: 5 stars Always the best! So fast,accurate, and friendly. Pharmacy: 5 stars Always so friendly and knowledgeable! Beer selection: 5 stars Phenomenal HUGE rotating selections of local and imported beers as well as large great non alcoholic variety. They have beer on the shelves and a walk in cooler too. Shelf stocking staff: 5 stars Always organized, faced, and clean with a good variety. Stocked well 90% of the time and rarely anything out of date or damaged. Parking lot and cart staff: 5 stars It's so clean and debris free. Carts are always orderly as well as restocked quickly. Bonus: If there's ever a spill, broken glass, or garbage anywhere in the store or parking lot staff are on it IMMEDIATELY. Very clean! read more

As a Pittsburgher forced to shop at Giant Eagle, I was very impressed with Wegman's!! This store is massive, and I was impressed by their vast selection! From specialty pickles to a fresh looking meat and seafood counter! While some things are a bit pricier, this is definitely a one stop grocery store! Grocery pickup is a nightmare. They up-charge 15% and then they make you wait 15+ minutes to bring out groceries. On several occasions they've left out items. (I know, first world problems.) BUT..if you offer a service, at least make it reliable. Walmart doesn't charge extra and even though there's sometimes a wait, items are never missing. When you contact customer service, there's never an apology. read more

Wegmans have some nice foods, and fresh products. I however have had some problems with some cashiers, ect on the front end of store. I seriously don't like to complain or give anyone a hard time but some very very rude clerks working in there. I was once even told by one of the better employees I should report them as they treat everyone nasty. It certainly is probably the most expensive grocery store in Chautauqua county and you would expect good service and respect. IMO they seem to hire people who " think" they are upper class but don't make the grade. Sad. read more

You had one opportunity to impress me...and you failed! Natalie answered the phone as if she was being bothered and spent the entire short conversation trying to get me off the phone! My son's birthday was today, he is all alone in whatever burg Jamestown thinks it is. I called trying to get balloons and a cake delivered. Natalie couldn't be bothered with my situation to develop a solution. I bet she sure can be bothered to ask for a raise and be andered when she doesn't get what she THINKS she is worth. I would have gladly paid extra to get something done that was out of the ordinary but apparently the minds are too small in Jamestown to truly offer customer service! I am a regular customer at the Jamestown Wegmans, but am new to their pharmacy. I had the misfortune to be diagnosed with pnuemonia earlier this week and needed to go from my doctor's office to pick up prescriptions to help with the illness. In addition, this is my first month with Medicare and new cards/plan. I was fuzzy with illness, unsure about my new plan, and had two other prescriptions waiting. I was anxious about navigating a new pharmacy with all that swirling. I needn't have worried...an amazing pharmacy worker named Eileen helped me with everything - efficiently, knowledgably, and kindly. She got the situation instantly and took care of it (and me)! I love Wegman's but I wish they would go back to carrying more brand name foods. There are just some things people only want the brand name product. Wegman's branded food is pretty good in general but I like to be able to get well-known brand names at times and Wegman's branded items for other things. Example: Their bricks of cheese or bagged shredded cheese is good- not a noticable difference. However, there is a big difference in their store brand pudding and yogurt vs. name brand. Wegman's is narrowing their product lines. I end up going to walmart for branded items if Wegman's doesn't have it. read more

I wish there was a Wegmans even remotely close to me. This was by far the best grocery store experience I've ever had. Wegmans is so organized, clean, friendly, and versatile! Even the ready to serve food is good! The pizza, the sushi (I'm a snob and NEVER get sushi from anywhere other than an actual restaurant because it's always gross), the salad, all of it. I would go here for lunch during my work day if I could. They play pleasing music that isn't too loud so your ear holes aren't consumed by beeps from the registers and lame announcements over the loud speaker. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time there or comb through every single aisle. Maybe next time... I like the market place cafe thing the most. They make a decent sub and have a really good salad bar. I just wish they would get rid of that disgusting garden ranch at the salad bar. Wegmans is always changing their products & their website. Many might think this is a good thing. The latest change to the website is so drastic that it causes my computer to crash. This has happened 3 times. I can't get my List, My regular products - in fact Wegmans website itself crashed today. Talked to IT - told them I had a desktop but they could not figure it out. Amazon doesn't do this. When they make a change it is subtle. I needed to put in an Instacart order today & again crashed. I could not give my aide a list as I could not make a list and just putting down peaches doesn't help as which of the 26 varieties of peaches should she buy? I will NOT go near the website in the future & will find another store. read more

I am in town and I went to Wegmans again tonight to pick up some groceries. The service I got tonight was so ....strange...that I want to knock down their score, but I'm hoping that it was just a fluke. I got in the line of an older, female cashier. She started ringing out my groceries and bagging them. She crammed SO much stuff in one bag and then said, "I made this really heavy, so I'll double bag it." ...well, great. Just add more weight to something that I can't pick up. Then I bought a box of rice pilaf and it had a coupon on it for a different product I didn't get. She showed it to me, I shrugged and said, "I didn't get that.", but she kept talking up this coupon. I finally told her I didn't want it, but she insisted I keep it for my next trip. Um, okay. I can't find my mail after I walk inside my house, but sure, I'll hang on to this 1"x1" piece of paper for a product I don't want. I bought two boxes of doughnuts for a meeting and had them set carefully in their home. She grabbed them and tried to turn them on their side to cram them in a plastic bag. Wha? Then, I tried to buy a six pack of beer. My ID was out-of-state, and she had to get manager approval. (Legally, she didn't have to. I've purchased plenty of alcohol without getting a "Manager" involved. A girl younger than me came up, looked at it and told her to put it through.) She made a spectacle out of the situation, acting like 28-year-old me brought my kid to the store with me, bought $100 worth of groceries...and then tried to scam her on some beer. Please. The part I didn't understand was that after she packed that first bag super heavy, she put everything else 1-2 items to a bag. Confusing. She was terrible and clueless. I'm sure she was nice, but I don't care about 'nice' when my groceries are being packed. Get a clue. read more

Wegmans is probably the best grocery store to shop at, but their staff aren't always very friendly. Here are a few flaws I've seen while grocery shopping. This one time while I was checking out the man scanning items forgot to scan my milk, so I had to tell him to scan it. Another annoying experience I've had is one day I was getting a hot chocolate and the lady was one of the most unfriendly people I've ever met. Usually when I get a hot chocolate-from wegmans-the person puts mountains of whip cream on it and chocolate syrup and chocolate pieces on it which I love. But this time the woman put practically a dot of whip cream on it and nothing else. Then when I took a sip it just tasted like hot water. An amazing shopping center with all your foodie needs is the way I would describe Wegmans. Their extensive selection of high quality food and produce cannot be outmatched. Their food court is especially varied in cultures and types of food. Ranging from soup and salads to dumplings and sushi! There's always a pleasant surprise when you go. Their meat and deli selection is too caliber when it comes to freshness. I've never been disappointed. Our Jamestown store is the best in town with excellent food selection and great quality. Store is very clean and parking lot always maintained. I recently contacted the manager about their register line situation in regards to handicapped folks. She was very understanding and courteous and thanked me for contacting her admitting she had never thought of the problem but would atempt to remedy the situation which she did do. Thank you Wegmans for being open to suggestion and taking the necessary steps to be thoughtful and accomodating to us handicapped and elderly. Wegmans is the best grocery store I found in the western New York area. Growing up surrounded by HEB's makes moving out of the south an unappetizing experience when it comes to grocery shopping, but Wegmans brought me back to place of normalcy. Beautiful displays of fresh vegetables and rare produce options. Freshly cut and packaged meats and cheeses make grocery shopping fun again. My only complaint is that they most definitely know their value because many staple products are grossly overpriced. What does a vacuum feel like? Go to Jamestown, NY and somehow via warpspeed you are ten to five years back where only half the population has internet. Tried communication systems is hollering hey, it's nice to see ya, hun, how you doin via a rudimentary cell phone and via ham radio... An interview of the average citizen would be as follows- Organic???? Oh, that's just a lie. Wal-mart???? Oh, it's all good. Sam's Club??? Yes, We like big box stores but why is it that downtown all gassed out? Whole Foods? What's that? Isn't all food whole? Global Warming? I don't believe in it. Obama or McCain?? McCain So knowing what I was up against and with grocery list in hand, I hoped for the best when relatives took me to Wegman's. Wow, like a bright beacon were 6-7 rows dedicated to all organic goods including frozen food. They even had organic cotton pajamas. Pray tell the relatives wouldn't go near it, but I was able to find the oatmeal I usually get and most of the ingredients to a soup that I made that did not involve potatoes or red meat. The shop attendants are more helpful I will say more than most Bay Area shopping markets as far as helping you from everything a little multicultural, half Asian girl desires. Such as, won ton wrappers, chopsticks, ramen noodles, soy sauce, tortillas, anaheim chili peppers, bok choy, and organic chicken broth. Not all the things were organic-the apples were- such as the bok choy, but the fact they have a niche for us out of towners to not get too stir crazy was a good thing. One thing. The check out girl did not know what green onions were and had never seen bok choy or a zucchini before... At least for one day I was allowed to cook like I want to. But when in Rome... I want Jook. I want Ramen. I want a bowl of steamed veggies. Now that I am home, I appreciate Berkeley Bowl a whole lot more! But Wegman's still kicks ass though...they even have a Swedish section with lingonberry jam. :) read more

This grocery is about as good as it gets for the area. Jamestown doesn't have a whole lot of selection- you have Walmart, Tops or Wegmans. Sorry, but Wegman's crushes the competition. This grocery has it all (except wine) from prepared foods to organic to kids toys. They cater to high-end shoppers as well as to those with a strict budget to follow. Everyone working there is friendly and helpful and the selection they have is great. I drive about 30 minutes to come here rather than ten minutes to go to Tops. I know what I am getting at Wegmans is good quality. I love the family nature of the store as well. Great place. read more

Have been going here since I was a child. The prices are higher but its all worth it with how clean the store is and the quality of the food. The Sub shop is my favorite place! The food they serve is so good. Its the only place I will get my meat. Its more trustworthy than Walmart and you can watch them butcher. The bathrooms are also spotless. They smell amazing and they give you the good toilet paper. The amount of options you get when shopping is amazing. It has Gluten Free, Lactose Free, Vegan, Organic, different cultures, and much more. For the area its kind of like a high class Walmart without the clothes and household. The only downside is during the summer you don't want to go near the place during the day due to the Summer people. The individuals will ruin your experience and you can definitely tell the difference between them and those who live in the area. Those individuals will treat you like you are worthless and push you around just because they vacation here. read more

Place is clean and well kept. a visit to the restrooms will discover a cabinet with different sizes of diapers and a box of wipes for the forgetful parent, and directions to the location in the store were more can be bought. be careful in the produce section, the organic and normal stuff is often side by side and the price difference is sizable. they just renovated the freezer section which makes for a much nicer shopping experience. expect long lines here, though they do move fairly quickly read more

Wegmans has so many positives going for it. The food: I believe everyone in the Jamestown area has a common misconception that Wal-Mart's food prices are cheaper than Wegmans. Hold onto your seats...guess what, they are most definitely not! My husband and I would easily spend over $100 a trip in groceries alone at Wal-Mart, whereas the same overall amount of groceries cost us about $70! Their produce is excellent, their canned goods are excellent, everything they have is...well, excellent! The service: Everyone who works there is extremely friendly and is more than willing to help you if you have a question. The bathroom: Yes, the bathroom....they have the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in my life. I am one of those weirdos who judges a place by its bathroom. They are very warm and homelike, and clean! I actually enjoy using their bathroom! They also have a can of hairspray and lotion for you to use! So, give Wegmans a try! You'll soon become a die-hard fan such as myself! read more

Many of us who choose to stay in WNY live in a rural environment so we grow our own "green" "organic" foods without having to go to a store. We walk outside, bend over and plain pick it out of our gardens! Shame on you for insulting those of us who are intelligent and hard working here. Stay in CA if you don't like your relatives in Jamestown... Focused on the topic, without insults to the residents who live here, Wegman's is a fantastic store to shop in. My favorite part is that they purchase many of their produce from local growers. Not only do they support the economy of our area, they sell fine, quality items that are from WNY. I know this is Wegman's home turf, but I only know the chain from the gigantic one in Quantico, Va. The store here is smaller by far, but the quality of food and service is at least as high. And when I ordered five party platters at the Deli Counter for a Thank You Donald Trump Party, they did not bat an eye and did a great job. We had a great party, thanks to Wegmans. read more
