Came here for the first time on Wednesday December 18, 2024 in the morning. This is a relatively…read morenew business to the area - coming from Montreal, we like to shop in Vermont and this happens to be on our way as it is close to Walmart in the area. This is a discount store that offers a bit of everything - there are many home decor items, bedding, accessories, some shelf stable foods, toys, clothing, beauty products and knick knacks. The closest thing I can compare it to is Ollie's (there is one in Plattsburgh). I found the store to have a decent selection, but the overall vibe was very messy, dusty and kind of "low class". The clothing or toy selection are of poor quality. Immediately I thought Ollie's was better. I wandered in every aisle and there weren't any major deals to be found. I was looking for something specific advertised in the store flyer but even after searching and asking for help from employees, no one could find this item. Lots of unopened boxes of stock and stuff just piled everywhere. My favorite section was the beauty products area - There are soaps/body washes/lotions that you would not find in a regular store. For example, Dove or Johnson's products that come from another country. I am not sure how they arrived to the USA but these are versions of products normally sold abroad. If you check the labels you'll be surprised! Some stuff was made in Italy. I think this is the type of place you have to check back often for deals - we walked away with some soaps and toothpaste, there were 5 packs of Colgate tubes for less than $3 which was a steal but otherwise couldn't find anything else that really interested us.

She complained that she shouldn't have to move carts in the parking lot because she's the manager and apparently too good to do that. How rude. I felt bad for the employee and will not be back. You'd think for a new store the manager would be more welcoming.

I, like almost everyone (or at least those it's come up with) "F$&KN LOVE a dollar store! The selection and price point make upgrades, redecorating ideas, food and essentials within reach and worth a try regardless of any annual house hold income. The more I searched for information and understanding, the more I read about the hype, ethics, etc.. the more I liked it... as far as national corporate chain stores go. As far as this location goes: it appears that on a national level, they is movement in integrating and combining Family Dollar and Dollar Tree (it's sister company that until recently only few similarities and generic and sometimes conflicting corporate structuring) Yet now, it appears that Dollar Trees are being brought into Family Dollars and that corporate model is taking over its host... sometimes gradually and sometimes as a new location. Before being hired and starting to make observations, as a customer, I would always start out towards Family Dollar first, it always was my first stop on my brick and mortar rounds. I would easily dismissed as a fraud and a liar it I did not acknowledge the obviously floundering and seemingly immeasurable progress up or down. So when you are in the store, please try and remember that everyone working there really believes they are doing everything they possibly can to help the customers, help each other and help the company they work for. And for the most part, many of them could not do anything more or better. The news has covered the recent criminal events: remember that is in addition to the many unforeseen problems and unintended consequences which rocked the store to its foundation... so if they are in the store smiling, working as well as willing and available help... mentally... give that person a little credit and all the respect you would like to be shown. Their head is probably still spinning from the last 10 issues they were told... on top of 15 or so challenges they walked in with. We all have them, every day. If it comes to pass that you had a bad experience, know that it was definitely NOT you. And just as likely, that representative was just as powerless to circumnavigate a better outcome. WHEN YOU DO HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE-please, at the very very least THANK THEM... maybe post something here where you can be as case specific or anonymous as you like. If I'm there as a customer or still an employee and you figure out who I am, I would love it if you wanted to introduce yourself... Say hey!

Located next to the Food World Market on Lake Street, this store was like any other I walked into, anywhere in the USA. There is nothing in the store that ties this store to this geographic area. In today's new economic reality, where corporations are people, and middle class people are too expensive to be considered for labor and expendable, it pays to know the difference between the proliferating dollar store chains.

Sad looking store, dirty and with limited selection. I've shopped at plenty of thrift and…read moreliquidation centers- I'm OK with used items or returned merchandise that isn't in its original packaging, however this discount store felt overall very depressing and there really wasn't much to look at. I think having just better lighting would help, the whole place was extremely dark. Someone needs to go around with a duster or cloth and just wipe some of the products/shelves, they look dirty and dusty. There are some haphazardly placed items all over the place - and not very much household/clothing items. When we first walked in there was 1 couch and 1 chair for sale, then the first front wall had some random garden/outdoor equipement. There was 1 baby stroller, about 2 racks of clothing and the rest was mostly non perishable food items. If you are in need of condiments, canned food, cereals, and the like they have a decent selection although most items are expired. I was not expecting the best selection, but some items like medication/vitamines/baby accessories and baby sunscreens for example should not be sold if they are past their due date. Although it's cheap, I don't know why anyone would risk using expired sunscreen on their baby without knowing if it's effective? That's the kind of item I would not buy, I don't want to risk a sunburn on my sensitive baby's skin. I was hoping to find some hidden treasures and thought perhaps this place could be like Ollie's bargain bin but our party of 4 left feeling sketched out. Won't be returning, there isn't enough stuff and nothing of value.

It is not a full retail shopping experience so don't measure it that way. It's a great way to shop for bargains if you are flexible and open minded.
