I do think they have great, often locally sourced produce and some great bakery and deli items .... meats usually pretty good too ... but more competitive pricing would be a great idea. However - the take out food area is awesome! So economically friendly and delicious. Our favorites are their party pizzas and 30" subs for parties - chicken bacon ranch pizza is amazing! I recently got their chicken tenders sub and it was outstanding. So much bang for your buck there ... I wish the grocery store itself would follow suit. Happy that they now have self check out at this location .... but wish you could type in your phone number when you don't have your big y card like most other stores with this feature allow.

So when I finally got home and checked the number.....it WAS the Ellington Big Y. So because they were behind they said there wasn't an order put in for the pizza. I'm so tired of this place. When you order a pizza you expect it to be ready when you get there....so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes while people waited to eat for this pizza I ordered. I finally put this in yelp because I have had other issues with customer service here as well....and it's basically very rude individuals who don't want to do their job. The last time I called their seafood department and they told me to HURRY UP AND GET THERE BEFORE THEY CLOSED. Otherwise I would be OUT OF LUCK to get my seafood cooked. Why do they bother to have departments cook or make food if people have to experience this GARBAGE? FROM NOW ON I WILL HAPPILY GO TO ANOTHER TOWN IF I NEED THEOR SERVICES! BUYER BEWARE!

The deli has some good deals going on. $6 off prosciutto right now. If you've never tried the bacon from the butcher counter, you are missing out! It's the best we've found! It takes forever every time. Very often, they are completely out of numerous items (produce, butcher shop products, bakery products, etc.). Finally, their new A.I. self checkout system is a huge pain. at my most recent visit, the employee watching the self checkouts, had to intervene 3 separate times, including an override at the end where the system thought I was stealing items that I had clearly scanned. Save yourself time, money, and frustration and just go to Stop & Shop or Aldi.
