*Grocery only review*…read more I shop here twice a week or more since I live five minutes away and I prefer smaller, more frequent grocery orders vs the filled up shopping cart. The grocery is quite good. There is a full service deli counter that's always manned. They prepare the cooked chicken and other takeaway hot food here, and are always available to slice your cold cuts to order. A very respetable charcuterie section too. Very good selection of organic vegetables and meats, and many certified non-GMO items. They are bringing in more of the "Better Goods" product line which includes quality frozen foods and jarred fruit, with ingredient lists that DON'T read like a chemistry textbook. I recently found they now offer a cream cheese without any "gum" additives...made of milk, cream, cheese culture and salt. Imagine that. Employees are around to help you find things. The self-checkout, which is my preference, works well and rarely gets hung up. They often open only half of them, sadly, due to not having enough eyes available to watch for thieves. For some deep-seated psychological reason I never do the Yelp check in here, but trust me I've gotta be the Duchess 10 times over. This is a good grocery store and I recommend you give it a try.

There not 1 but 2 kitchen stores in it with most any tool you need to prepare your food! The cheese department is amazing! There was a little dark haired lady with glasses...didn't catch her name...but she is a cheese wizard! She found 2 obscure cheese for us on the shelves. There is a bar!! Yes a bar where you can get a beer or glass of wine! You can taste test wines before you buy! That is wonderful! And for you whiskey lover you can buy a shot of whiskey! The produce...fruits and veggies from all over the world! I actually found fresh prickly pears! Most everything is reasonably priced. If I lived near here I would need to build a large pantry onto my house! Lol...someone has a sense of humor for the restrooms! Thry were beautiful and clean inside! The cashiers were wonderful. A must visit place if you are in the Cincinnati area! Allow some time. We were there 4 hours and didn't see it all!

From 5 to 1…read more.. Jungle Jim's East has introduced us to countless foods and products that we likely never would have discovered otherwise. For many years, our weekly routine was to stop at Sam's Club for staples, then head straight to Jungle Jim's. We'd grab a beer, leisurely wander the aisles, pick up the rest of our grocery list, and almost always leave with a few unexpected treasures. Unfortunately, over the past several months we've noticed a steady decline in the overall shopping experience. Prices have increased noticeably, the quality and consistency of the produce department no longer seem to be what they once were, and many everyday grocery items have disappeared from the shelves. These aren't obscure products, but rather common items that many shoppers regularly purchase. After asking about the changes, a checkout clerk confirmed that Jungle Jim's is intentionally shifting away from being a traditional grocery store and focusing more heavily on its international market offerings. While we understand and respect that business decision, it no longer aligns with the reason we originally shopped there. What made Jungle Jim's special for us was the combination of unique international products and the ability to complete most of our regular grocery shopping in the same trip. As that balance has changed, we've found ourselves making additional stops elsewhere to find basic items, often at better prices. As a result, we've decided to move most of our grocery shopping back to Kroger. We'll still visit Jungle Jim's occasionally for specialty and international products, but sadly it is no longer our primary grocery destination. We sincerely hope management reconsiders the direction of the store, because we'd love to return to the Jungle Jim's experience that made us loyal customers for so many years.

The woman in charge of the cheese counter is really knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions and pairings. The guys running stock out know their stuff, and can tell you exactly where whatever you need is. Sherry must live upstairs or something because she's manning the self-checkouts 24/7 and keeps everything moving smoothly. The store has decent variety for its size, and the prices are high, but they're high everywhere now, because you idiots vote for rich old men to run the country. The layout of the store is actually great. People complain about it and say "STORES TRY TO TRICK YOU INTO WALKING THROUGH ALL THE AISLES" but that's not really the case. The produce is right when you walk in, then stick to the outside of the store, and you've got your meats, cheeses, dairy, and you're good. People just complain because they moved things around recently and change is hard. Now the bad: Kroger makes it super clear that they do not give a damn about you. Often there are 0 checkout lanes open here. 0 lanes, so you have to check yourself out. Self-checkouts are for people who have just a few items and want the convenience of not waiting. They are NOT a replacement for real people when I have a cart with $200 worth of crap in it. "Thank you, valued customer" my ass. If I was a valued customer, the front-end manager wouldn't be leaning on the counter watching me check myself out. There are some management issues here in general, because every time I have to talk to management (w Prices are high everywhere, yes? But sales are cool, right? Wrong. Kroger Digital Coupons means you're walking through the store, see a 'deal', and then have to screw around on your phone for 2 minutes, working through their app's horrible interface, just to save a couple of bucks. It's not a convenience - it's a pain in the ass. And don't get me started on gas points. People have electric cars now. I do not care about gas points. Stop showing them to me, stop sending me marketing about them, deals about them, coupons for them - I do not care. You are wasting both our time.
