Kroger saved many lives with their rapid response to Covid vaccination, while also keeping us fed! The pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are unsung heroes of our medical care. Christina has helped us understand our medication. She has always been remarkably kind and patient. The Oxford Kroger used to be great. Maybe all of their stores have gone downhill. This one certainly has. We now treat Kroger like a convenience store. It's okay for bread, most vegetables, and canned goods. But for a better selection we have to go to a Meijer store in the next town. read more

Let's start with the 'good' because that's easy and quick: Most of the people working here are friendly, helpful, and cool. The woman in charge of the cheese counter is really knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions and pairings. The guys running stock out know their stuff, and can tell you exactly where whatever you need is. Sherry must live upstairs or something because she's manning the self-checkouts 24/7 and keeps everything moving smoothly. The store has decent variety for its size, and the prices are high, but they're high everywhere now, because you idiots vote for rich old men to run the country. The layout of the store is actually great. People complain about it and say "STORES TRY TO TRICK YOU INTO WALKING THROUGH ALL THE AISLES" but that's not really the case. The produce is right when you walk in, then stick to the outside of the store, and you've got your meats, cheeses, dairy, and you're good. People just complain because they moved things around recently and change is hard. Now the bad: Kroger makes it super clear that they do not give a damn about you. Often there are 0 checkout lanes open here. 0 lanes, so you have to check yourself out. Self-checkouts are for people who have just a few items and want the convenience of not waiting. They are NOT a replacement for real people when I have a cart with $200 worth of crap in it. "Thank you, valued customer" my ass. If I was a valued customer, the front-end manager wouldn't be leaning on the counter watching me check myself out. There are some management issues here in general, because every time I have to talk to management (w Prices are high everywhere, yes? But sales are cool, right? Wrong. Kroger Digital Coupons means you're walking through the store, see a 'deal', and then have to screw around on your phone for 2 minutes, working through their app's horrible interface, just to save a couple of bucks. It's not a convenience - it's a pain in the ass. And don't get me started on gas points. People have electric cars now. I do not care about gas points. Stop showing them to me, stop sending me marketing about them, deals about them, coupons for them - I do not care. You are wasting both our time. read more

I grew up going to Kroger and I enjoy going there because it feels like home and is very familiar. I will start by saying that I do enjoy shopping at Oxford Kroger and at the employees are very nice and helpful. The rest of this review is targeted at Kroger corporate because I know store level employees have no control over pricing whatsoever: However, as I've gotten older I've realized how high their prices are and how much they price gouge everyday hard working Americans. Do they need all that extra money? No, absolutely not. No one person needs a million dollars. Stealing from the poor and middle class and giving to themselves. Disgusting. You could lower prices if you wanted to I'm sure. I will always have to go there for things I can't get at a cheaper store, but from now on I'm doing my main shopping at Aldi. Went today for some items and got to the milk isle, nothing. Open the refrigerator door and can see pallets of milk not put on shelf. Duke Energy's website says you can pay your electric bill with a money order at this location, but don't you dare, unless you want the staff to get rude and nasty with you. 2. I was charged for a Little Clinic visit that I had canceled online. Fine, maybe I didn't cancel it in time. Little Clinic texted me stating that I owed money. I went to the website and clicked Statements. There were no statements available. It wanted me to verify my email address, so I tried. I received no verification email. I tried logging in a different way and then my account got deactivated. How am I supposed to pay my bill if there are no statements and no account? 3. Never utilize their pick up service on a Sunday, maybe not ever. "Your groceries will be two hours late. Wait, no, we lied. Wait, no, we lied again..." Go somewhere else, anywhere else. Hamilton Kroger, Meijer, Walmart...the prices here are higher than a normal Kroger's because, when it comes to a grocery store easily accessible on foot, Oxford Kroger has no competition. read more

redeemed points on Pampers to use a coupon specific to Kroger to discount my next Pampers purchase at Kroger. The Kroger checkout was not scanning the coupon, so the worker got the manager. Manager saw it wouldn't scan and even after showing the coupon was legitimate, she refused to allow the coupon to be used. I would not have had this type of service at Target and regret not taking the extra ten minutes to go there today. After experiencing so many things wrong with Kroger through the pandemic and after, it's hard to stay committed to a store that no longer sees you as a valued customer, but as a number. read more

This is a pretty solid option for grocery shopping in Oxford. As a student, I'm on a budget, and having a rewards card and shopping Kroger brand / with the deals they offer saves me the most money, more so than doing my shopping at Walmart! They are almost always out of something thats on my grocery list though. Overall they have a nice selection of things. Although overall I'm very glad that we have a Krogers store in Oxford, there are areas they could improve. First, I usually have difficulty with the produce section. While I appreciate the variety, frequently the produce is old, or looks good on the outside but is either too old or tasteless on the inside. I realize they probably have only one supplier (a Krogers produce warehouse somewhere). My other issue is the lack of customer service training for the employees who stock the shelves and refrigerated sections. They act like we customers aren't there, never speak and usually just ignore us --- even if they practically run over us. This has happened multiple times, and I believe it could easily be improved. But as I mentioned above, I'm glad we have a Krogers (and a Walmart). read more

The Pros: A very good "bougie" Kroger for such a small town. Thank you, students! Olive bars, fresh sushi, Starbucks, and international specialty items like lemon grass and sesame oil (thank you international students!). Aisle signs in Mandarin and English! A big hippy dippy section! The staff are very nice and friendly. The Cons: In the past, the raw meat has been very spotty. I go for local meat at the farmer's market or Moon Co-op at this point. This was written during the coronavirus crisis, although some of these things were issues beforehand. It becomes harder to recommend this Kroger. The employees are generally rude and speak and even yell back if you raise even the slightest of objections. I once waited to take my order at the bistro a few months ago prior to the crisis and they just looked at me and ignored me while engaging in lewd jokes and insults among each other. During the coronavirus outbreak, they did not have hand sanitizer or wipes for the customers to use at the self-checkout even though at the time of my complaint they were legally obligated to have such for customers and employees. After I complained to the Department of Health and Kroger Corporate, they threw sandwich bags over the keypad terminals. They must think that sandwich bags are immune to germs for some contrived reason; I have never seen them switch them out. I had an issue with one of the terminals and one employee refused to even address my issue because of the outbreak even though she had no problem walking two feet next to me to take my basket from me just a few minutes prior. They shut down U-Scans on one end of the store at certain times which makes it hard for people to get their groceries while maintaining social distancing rules. Most of the employees don't even observe social distancing rules and stand at least two feet from each other while they engage in idle chitchat. When they are busy chitchatting, many of them will flat out ignore you; this was true even before the crisis. If this Kroger wasn't across the street and I had reliable transportation elsewhere then I would go there instead. I much prefer Walmart during this time of crisis. It isn't much better but it is generally emptier so you have less issues. I used to like this Kroger but a lot has changed over the last few years and the employees don't seem to appreciate the people who provide the money for their paychecks. You can rarely bother complaining because almost nothing is ever done. read more

we've been coming to this kroger for 9 years and it's a good store. it can be crowded sometimes because of the students, and parking can be difficult with the students, but kroger has a really good selection of meats and deli products. we always get the balogny and forest ham and it's so good! i also really like the foreign options, there's so much to choose from. i also like how they have more gluten free options and keto options. they renevated the store and it looks so good! they sometimes only have one U scan scanners which kinda sucks because it's sometimes busy and especially with the students so sometimes there's a long line. i definitely recommend this Kroger! read more

The store management is excellent. We stopped in to pick up 50 turkeys for a thanksgiving benefit. The Oxford Kroger, unfortunately, had not been notified by their corporate office so our order was not available. Lauren, the store manager, and Josh scrambled to action and assembled a small team to help us pull from their deep freezer. Within twenty minutes they scrambled a small team of fellow employees and loaded us up. The team there deserves five stars. The store was busy and they carved out a pallet sized solution amidst the cart sized customer base. read more

TRUE STORY: My wife was 9 months pregnant and we always went grocery shopping on Sundays. We were doing our normal thing and all of a sudden my wife had to go to the bathroom. A few minutes later she calls saying we have to go to the hospital because her water broke, in Kroger! I saw the nearest employee and told him what was up and asked him to kindly put our few groceries away. He had no problem doing it and was excited! Our daughter was born a few hours later. This Kroger can be a bit pricier compared to others around but I think it is simply because it is in Oxford which is a college town. Always fun to review a non-restaurant on Yelp! This is a great Kroger. Far, far above average. It's big and well stocked and employs smiling, friendly people. There's a little mini Miami University store in the middle, too, which makes sense for Oxford. The thing that makes it especially nice is that it's totally not what you'd expect in a town like Oxford. Like I said, it's big and well stocked. They have a "beer cave" you can walk in to as well as a reach-in with a pretty impressive selection of beers. There is a fairly extensive wine section, too. There's plenty of fruit (at decent prices). I love to go in and see the old folks hanging out at the coffee shop inside - it just cracks me up that they hang out at the grocery store. For a small-town Kroger, I was amazed by this location. First of all, their salad bar is just the bee's knees!! It was very fresh and well-designed. I especially enjoyed the sliced kiwi and jalapeno peppers. Shockingly, those two items are absent from most grocery-store salad bars. Next is their awesome Organic section. Its much larger than that of any Kroger I can remember visiting. Finally, the staff were all genuinely interested in helping you however they could. Weighing my salad on the U-SCAN machine was really complicated at first, and the assistant took her time in educating me on its functionality. Great job, Oxford Kroger!! read more

I don't know what's happened to Kroger pharmacy but it changed and not for the better. I understand the staffing crisis I really do because I work with the public as well . It's frustrating, but you don't get to openly lash out at customers who just wanna know what's going on with the meds THEY NEED. My wisdom teeth are coming in and I have an inner ear infection. So I have a pain medication there and liquid antibiotics because I can't swallow the pills. This woman in the window did nothing but get shitty over my grandma asking if my meds were ready. "Ugh well I've gotta go mix it" was something along the lines with a lot of attitude in her voice. I don't even trust this woman to mix my medication at this point. My grandma proceeds to follow up about my brothers medication , as Krogers has said they've faxed his new medication over 3 times and our primary care doctor hasn't received one. This lady had nothing good to say the whole time we were trying to figure our medication out. Finally, my grandma turned to me when she was in the back and asked "why is she being so rude to me?" And I really don't know why. Had my grandma been shitty with her I would've understood why because let's be honest in a staffing crisis where you are overworked you deal with a lot of rude people on a daily basis and I could've better understood where her attitude was coming from, but I feel like my grandma was respectful up until the woman continuously was rude to her for just wanting to know about MY MEDICATION. This lady proceeds to walk up to the window and go "what did you say" and come at my 63 year old grandma like a mad woman. "We're closed I don't have to wait on you I chose to" . It was 7:30 and there had been people in front of her and on the side of the store there was no gate . The window was open nothing said closed. This lady had been the one we had to deal with the day before regarding my meds as well. Rude. It's now been 3 days at this point I believe she just doesn't want to give them to us. Quality Kroger store! Fresh produce, always stocked with product and very helpful staff. It's always usually really clean and easy to navigate. I have to admit I shop almost exclusively at Kroger (since my husband works for the company) and even so I'm impressed by the quality that Kroger produces. One of the many reasons I look forward to visiting my parents in Oxford, OH is the convenience and full service offered at this Kroger which is right down the road from the Knolls of Oxford where they live. Everything you need is under one roof. The people who work there are so helpful and enthusiastic that you would think they all had part ownership. They have so so prices. The beer selection was fair, but not commendable. The Miami store is a complete waste of space. Please place some food there. I have had two bad experiences with their meats. One was a Kroger brand pork loin so over injected with saline that it was slimy to the touch. I could not pick the thing up. I had a distressing conversation at deli. Me: I would like some imported swiss cheese. Deli: We don't have any imported we have baby, low sodium, or lactose free swiss. Me: Isn't lactose a vital ingredient in milk? Deli: Ahhh? I would not recommend utilizing Krogers indoor click to order. It's supposed to save you time as you dont have to wait at the register line. The issue I had was when i went to the self checkout the person who monitors said he had to spot check. That makes sense, however I didnt realize he was going to check every bag whick took an additional 10 minutes. Why even do the click and go? Krogers is a great store. The staff at Krogers is very friendly and helpful. I prefer Krogers to Walmart. I only buy at Wal-Mart what Krogers does not have. This is directed at Kroger, the parent company of Fred Meyers grocery stores in Oregon and everywhere else. FM has recently decided to move their ads effective days from Sun thru Sat to Wed thru Tues. Only problem is that they are not going to be getting ads to the customers. Many people have dropped the overpriced Newspaper to read it on-line or just take the Sun ppr or just buy the Sun ppr but the other 3 days of the week they don't subscribe because it is basically just ads and no real news and over priced so that leaves them without an ad. NOT everyone has computer access nor takes a daily ppr anymore and around here, the "daily" ppr is only several days a week now . Safeway & Albertsons send out their ads to everyone in with the "flyers" we all get e/week so we have those ads. FM doesn't do this and never has. FM's answer to this is basically to heck with you if you don't take a daily paper or what is considered a daily ppr any more or to heck with you if you don't have access to a computer . They are aiming to a certain demographics and to heck with the rest of the population. Appears discriminatory read more
