The day before my scheduled pickup, I was contacted and informed that the large SUV I had reserved wouldn't be available and that they could only offer a 5-passenger vehicle instead. Unfortunately, that wouldn't work for our needs, so I asked them to cancel the reservation. Later that same day, I received another call letting me know that things had changed and the vehicle I originally requested was now available. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone wanted to see if I'd like to reinstate my reservation, and of course I said yes. When I arrived early the next morning, I was greeted by a friendly staff. One gentleman showed me to my vehicle, and while I was outside, the same gentleman I had spoken with on the phone (whose name I unfortunately don't remember) came outside just to thank me for my patience and understanding throughout the situation. He absolutely didn't have to take that extra step, but he did, and it really meant a lot. When I returned the vehicle on Monday, I was greeted by that same young man, and he even remembered my name. That level of personal customer service is rare these days. I was honestly a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. The team went above and beyond to make a difficult situation right, and I truly appreciated their professionalism, communication, and kindness. Thank you for the excellent customer service!

When I received my vehicle it came with only 5/8 of a fuel tank which I found a little frustrating. I had about a 3.5 hour drive and this meant I was going to have to stop for gas now on my way. Because of this, I was originally going to give this a four star, however, the staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly that it deserved a five star. When I came to return my vehicle, the staff was very helpful in terms of where to put it. They were there waiting for me when I got back and even remembered my name. Additionally, I had accidentally forgotten one of my phones in the car and they found it, held it at the desk for me, and were very eager to give it back to me when I returned. The staff here goes above and beyond in so many ways!!

We sat in the lobby and were met by two other families who were trying to find alternative arrangement because there were no cars. The man recommending finding and uber and trying to see if the airport had cars. He refused to call to check as that was not his job. While we were trying to find alternative arrangement we counted a total of 11 families in 2 hours who had reservations that were not honored. We went to enterprise down the road and got a better deal. On a side note Embassy Suites employees were amazing and I cannot believe they would want to be associated with that shady business.

I called to confirm I would be refunded, and during that conversation, the representative "double-checked" their system and suddenly found a vehicle available. She assured me that while they didn't have one when they left the voicemail, they now did. Relieved, we walked from the port to the rental location, only to wait in line for 45 minutes--just to be told once again that they actually did not have a vehicle for us. This level of disorganization and lack of reliability is beyond frustrating. A rental car company should be able to manage reservations properly, yet reading other reviews, it's clear that this is not an isolated incident. Alamo (along with its parent company, Enterprise Holdings, which also owns Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental) has proven to be completely unreliable. If you want to gamble on whether or not you'll actually get a car, go ahead and book with them. But if you value your time and want a guaranteed rental, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
