I work at this strip mall and I've notice it become more busier since this store opened up. I don't live in the neighbourhood, but I was told this store was located at Coquitlam Centre until it moved to the area. I was really excited to see another store open up especially a "dollar store", but to my surprise not much in this store was for a dollar. I was looking around and they had laundry baskets for 40.00!, house decor for 20, Gordon Ramsay cookware.. So if you're thinking "dollar and cents" it's not. I was looking for a birthday card and one section had a sign that read "cards are regular price and maybe up to 9.99" I laughed because I bet people started to complain when the got to the cash register to pay for a birthday card that was 9.99, when they were probably expecting 1.00. It's a big store and they do have things that at under 2 dollars not much but they do. The store is big use to be a Rogers video, but I wouldn't call it a dollar store more like a gift store! I gave it 3 stars because I do like that it brings business to the area and I can spend time here on my break looking at over priced useless things! (:

After tending to some banking needs, I decided to pop into the 'Dollar Store' for a peak while waiting for her return. I knew I did not have enough time for a serious look, but did have time to quickly scan a few aisles. I was really quite impressed with the size of this store, and large selection of offerings. It's a rather large store, with aisle after aisle of shelves, bins, and all, crammed full of various household and other assorted stuff & such, typical and not so typical of such stores. I did not see any fresh items - like bakery goods or the like - had hoped they might carry fresh bread, buns, and such, but no such luck. I am quite sure my lady would have a great time browsing inside this store. She enjoys the dollar-type stores, and from my brief sightings, this is definitely one for her to check out. So I got there around 8:36, and asked the lady if I could have the birthday balloons decorations I needed to surprise my friend. This is around 8:40. Got told that she can't because apparently they close the helium tank by 8:30 or 8:40, and there's no chance she can do it she said. This is disappointing for not being so reliable coming to this kind of situation. I know I came and ask at 8:40. But still there is so much time to get it done. It's not like I wanted 100 balloons blown up. Some people have work and just got off but still try to make time and rush to be able to get what they need for the occasion. I have been to the other locations in the past getting the same things every time there is an event and I need something. This location is the only one who refused to put helium on the balloons, because it's already off by 8:30/40. Says that store closes at 9pm. But some of the resources inside are not even available by 8:30pm, is what's crazy. Just wanted to let everything out here, cause this simple thing ruined the whole plan for the surprise I have tonight. Not a reliable store.

I could never find anything in the men's section for my husband and it took a lot of time to find anything I wanted. The girl at the fitting rooms had a bit of an attitude with everyone. The cashier also didn't seem too happy to be there. While I was waiting in the LONG line to pay, i opened up a powder compact I was planning to buy. At first, I thought it was just missing the powder puff. Then when I opened it up to make sure it hadn't been used, I saw that it was completely empty. I told the cashier I didn't want it, and showed her the problem so it wouldn't be put back on the shelf like that - and she gave me a look like I took the powder puff- to which I burst out laughing ! She wasn't impressed - neither was I ! I'll skip this location - plenty more to choose from!

This place reminds me of International Village in Downtown Vancouver. Almost looks like it was designed by the same company. Very similar looking signage and layout. Stores and a supermarket along the basement floor, and food court in the central 2nd floor. Interestingly, the general emptiness of the mall also reminds me of International Village. The food court looks pretty decent. Plenty of seating. Not sure if the place would be a shopping destination, but it's more of a food destination if one is in the area.

The layout of this mall is pretty similar to Tinseltown. I came here recently and I see how run down this mall has become. It is so old and neglected. The exterior paint was the original. Nothing has change much after it was built (other than it looking older and more run down). After Covid, looks like lots of store has closed. They have a food court in the mall on the second floor and it seems like that is where most of the customers hangout. I came on a Saturday at around 3 pm and it was pretty quiet.

I noticed that they have lots of princess-themed toys for girls as I was shopping for my daughter. They also have a good selection of books, stickers and jewellery. I get the impression that Mastermind toys is not trying to compete with Toys R Us. Instead, they are trying to target parents looking for less mainstream toys and better customer service.
