Easy peasy. We rented from Dollar thrifty from the lobby at sonesta maho resort. We stayed at sonesta ocean. Because we rented from them at the hotel, we enjoyed free parking. We stayed at an air bnb a couple days after our Sonesta reservation ended. We inquired and were able to return the vehicle to the airport location, and take their shuttle to the airport. It was easy peasy! Now.... They did take like a $1200 hold, which is much more than we're used to in the states, about double...but once he explained the number of people who return the cars, head back home, and cancel their credit card payment o get it. They want to insure they get their money. So, no problem here! Drop off was super easy! Go ahead and get gas before you drop because they charge $15 per 1/8, the station up the road charges half that (whatever the price says at the gas station, you'll pay about half that amount ... ours said $60 but we paid $32... it's the liters vs gallons conversion). Raytid and Samuel were super nice and Raytid got us safely and quickly to the airport. Don't forget to tip him!! read more

Be careful with these guys. They have a scam, by the manager. First, they ask you to preauthorize a blank form with your credit card, and then rent you a car with multiple scratches from other customers. When you return the car, they look for anything that looks funny and charge your credit card (in my case $352.00 for a total of almost $1000) after you leave the island. Here's the "damage" below. Imagine if you do this trick to 10 customers a month. Save yourself from the same headache, and go elsewhere. It could be you. read more

Waited 50+ minutes to do a car return, nearly missed our flight and the guy did not care at all and gave me so much attitude when I voiced concern. But he still moved in slow motion and had to come back to get our credit card because he "forgot to charge us for gas". Will certainly be triple checking the receipt. Then forced 5 of us to squeeze into 4 seats on the shuttle to accommodate other patrons (who had JUST arrived). Keep in mind we were with an Austistic 7 year old with sensory issues and a 3 year old. There were at least 10 people working and nothing getting done. Would never rent from these idiots again. read more

This is an AWESOME place! I can say the best place to rent a car on the island. The owners take a real interest in their customers having a great experience. They have been in the business for over 30 years and have lived on Sint Maarten for longer than that. I've been using them for the past 15 years usually 3 or 4 times a year and they never disappoint. I've tried other places and they did not compare to Dollar Thrifty. The cars are in excellent condition, you can get anything from a sub compact, convertible, small or large SUV, Jeep and if you have large groups they have 9 and 12 passenger vans. Some of the cars are Hyundai, Honda, Ford, Mazda, Volkswagen, Daihstsu, and Dodge. They have great rates, the staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and the manager Vic has been with them a very long time. He takes care of customers as if he owns the business. If he's there when I pick up the car it feels like I'm speaking to a family member. If you have a lot of luggage they will deliver it for you if it does not fit in the car. They will also deliver or pickup the car when needed to where you are staying. They have four different locations around the island. They are just a few minutes from the airport and have a shuttle to come pick you up to take you and your luggage over when you land. I have never had a delay, an excuse or reason to worry about my reservation, a breakdown with a vehicle and the entire fleet is clean. The return process is simple as well and you will not find any hidden charges. Everything is straight up and forward. They will shuttle you back to the airport. I can't say enough good things about them and highly recommend them when you stay on Sint Maarten to rent a vehicle. read more
