I was looking for a punch bowl at this location, the punch bowl below the one I picked up was literally pissed in.

Aggressive Racial Profiling against an African American with Health Problems:…read more I live with various health issues, including genetic conditions, that cause me constant pain and discomfort. Despite my young age, I have arthritis throughout my body, making it challenging to stand for extended periods. I often need a moment to rest and sit down, which is why I sometimes utilize seating areas in stores. However, my experiences at this particular Walmart store have been distressing due to aggressive racial profiling. On every visit to this store, usually my last stop after a long day, my body is already exhausted and in pain. I simply need a few minutes to rest and ease the chronic pain. Unfortunately, instead of understanding, the security guards seem to have orders to harass me for merely sitting peacefully. I have been approached multiple times by a Walmart employee, in addition to the intimidating presence of security guards staring me down from a few feet away. The employee repeatedly questioned my presence near the pharmacy, despite there being no line or apparent issue. This occurred four times during my visit, and yet, as I exited the store with my groceries, the same employee had the nerve to wish me a nice day. The security guards also frequently walked past me, staring me down with each pass. Their behavior made me feel intimidated and scared for my safety, as if my mere presence as an African American individual was enough to warrant their suspicion. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that I am sitting in full view of the pharmacy staff and multiple video cameras. I am not hiding or seeking isolation; I am simply resting. The racial profiling at this store is blatant and aggressive. On one occasion, a security guard stood mere inches away from me, clearly singling me out, while potential shoplifters could have gone unnoticed. The managers and leaders at this Walmart location seem to encourage this racist behavior. Today, before I had even started shopping and had nothing in my possession, a security guard again racially profiled me as I sat down to rest. I feel unsafe and targeted due to the aggressively racist management, staff, and security at this store. I have never stolen anything, nor would I, yet I am treated with suspicion and harassment. This experience has left me feeling vulnerable and angry. I implore you to address this issue and hold the responsible parties accountable for their discriminatory actions. No one should have to endure racial profiling, and I fear that without consequences, this toxic environment will persist. I would never put an African American shopper in harm's way by staying silent or suggesting they shop here. This store disgust me. They dehumanized me and intimidated me. All I have ever done is buy stuff from here. In return I am treated like a criminal. If you scroll through the reviews you will notice multiple black people have reported being aggressively racially profiled and intimidated who hadn't stolen anything. They were just there to shop like I was.

The person who gave a bad review due to rudeness must have different expectations than most. The people who own the place are not there to entertain you, but there to help only if needed. When I went in I got to wander around without being bugged by the staff. When I did have questions they were more than willing to help. I found newly made Mexico furniture that was just outstanding. I bought two pieces that would have cost hundreds more elsewhere. When I told the owner I was looking for a Southwest table he said "just text me the pictures of what you want & I will send it to my Vendor in Mexico. He can make it to order at a much better price than anywhere else in NM" When I went there to load my heavy pieces the owners family member came out to help me. Totally not required by them, just great people. Some prices were high, but there are many things there consignment so owner has no control over them. This is a must stop.

Thrift stores, much as they can unveil diamonds in the rough, are indeed labor-intensive and exhaustive. Good flea markets refuse to allow worn and torn merchandise to sit on any shelf. The Family Indoor Flea Market offers booth after booth of delightful finds, and yeah, a lot of this stuff might be sitting in your grandparent's cabin in the mountains, but there's plenty of retro goodness tucked alongside at prices that compare or often beat what you'll find at your local Goodwill. I didn't buy anything here, but I spent about a half hour admiring the goods and I can think of four or five items I'm itching to pull my consumer trigger finger on. Albuquerque is awash in flea markets, which makes a ton of sense because, hey, this entire state is about two decades behind the times and so there's plenty of Rubik's Cubes to go around. There's a ton to find, here: furniture (not couches, but tables and chairs galore), decorations, lamps, comics and kids items, you name it. And again, I was often astonished at the cost. Here's a nudge: some of these vendors are seriously desperate for a sale. Cheap, you hear me? And I can dig that. I'm cheap. Sounds good to me.
