The machine shop and retail store shared a Guntersville space until it became a little awkward when Sak's lingerie, women's dresses, and footwear (2$-3$ each) shared the same space with greasy tools and machines. Eventually, they opened the first retail store in Guntersville and now (and have for a good while) have stores in Huntsville, Decatur, Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, and Auburn. Yeah, there is a lot of stuff in a MM!! Books, yearbooks and bestsellers, sports fan related items (think Blue Jays themed socks), nuts, bolts, uniforms, stationery, school supplies, sports equipment, picture frames, Bubba Gump glasses, barrettes, office desks, grills, nuts, bolts, tools, flashlights, live orchids - you get it. It's a bargain hunter's paradise if you don't have ADHD and can focus on getting only what you are looking for. Interestingly enough, they don't always know what is in some of the boxes they bid on at auction and once ended up with F-16 fighter jet parts that required Pentagon permission to sell. (They sold nearly all the parts, too!) Like their website says, after visiting the Guntersville and Huntsville stores, I did find myself saying, as many MM shoppers do, "I'll bet that would come in handy, if I just knew what it was for." :)

My wife really wanted to check out this boutique and was really impressed with what they had to offer. They had discounts outside the front door to lure you inside. Once inside they had sales that could be found through out the store with a clearance area in the back. They had a nice selection of all types of clothes (in the process of clearing out winter and moving into spring apparel). They also had a few shoes, purses and a little bit of jewelry if you're interested. Staff was friendly and the fitting rooms were open!!! Store was clean and prices were good. This is a cute little coffee shop / gift shop type of place in downtown Decatur. Being that it's downtown, parking is a little bit of a hassle. I didn't have a hard time finding a spot midday on a Wednesday, but be careful backing out as you're backing right into the street. Inside, the shop is spacious and decorated nicely. It felt airy and peaceful and I could easily see myself catching up with a friend or reading or something. They have a midsize coffee menu, serve Piper and Leaf tea, and have some typical coffeeshop snacks (pastries, etc). One nice feature is a fridge with take and bake type meals and appetizers. That can prove really useful in a pinch! Service was extra nice here: welcoming smiles, patient with questions, and working efficiently. I appreciated that you can actually order a small iced coffee here. Many places only do iced in medium or large portion sizes. The small was just enough to perk me up for the ride home, but not so much I'd have to stop for a restroom, lol. I ordered an iced peppermint mocha as that's pretty much my favorite coffee drink of all time. This one was a good one! Not too strong on the peppermint and a discernible - maybe even stronger than average - chocolatey taste. Like a liquid thin mint! :) I enjoyed my drink on my drive home and look forward to returning for more next time I find myself in the area.
