Toast em, pop tarts, same thing...
    June-Young C.

Back in the day, I used to go to a little place called the 99cent store. I'm pretty sure they even had fresh fruit like oranges and bananas, so I can't give this place 5 stars since the 99 cent store is clearly superior and costs one cent less. I remember they even had box wine somehow. This place is a treasure trove! Especially if you have a good sense of humor. The knock off brands are on full display. Who wants to pay full price for a pack of pop tarts when you can get Toast'ems for a buck!? I think the best part is the canned food section that has stickers that say things like "guaranteed fresh!" Who are they kidding? All jokes aside, the toothpaste is all legit and I'd probably come here to buy dollar toilet paper, toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo. Snacks are reasonable as well. The toy section is 100% jokes though. There's one game called road trip bingo and one of the things you can check off is a biohazard sign. Is this toy for Russians planning to go to Chernobyl? Tourists going to Raccoon City to visit zombies?

This is a brand new Dollar Tree, located right off of Boston University's campus. It's a great location with a huge selection (the biggest I've ever seen at a Dollar Tree). Since it only recently opened, the organization/layout is impeccably clean. I hope it stays that way. I'll definitely be stopping by this location on my way home from work.

    Very sad

New location but is horribly managed. Half the shelves are empty and the place usually looks in utter disarray. Roller coaster type of lines as they are always severely understaffed. Half the time I go there to get a few thing I leave empty handed as they are rarely stocked. By leaps and bounds the worst dollar tree I have ever been to.

Since my husband and I moved to Cambridge five and a half years ago for his graduate program, we've acquired almost all of our furniture here - everything from a leather couch and armchair set in excellent condition for a reasonable $600 to a gorgeous Crate and Barrel kitchen table for a mere $40. We've also purchased bookshelves, end tables, lamps, desks, and more. Obviously by virtue of fact that the furniture is by donation, there are always going to be some ugly or low-quality items to weed through, but I'd say it's well worth the time. As has been noted, the hours are very limited: currently Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. If possible, I'd strongly recommend arriving promptly at 10, especially on Saturdays: within 15 to 30 minutes of opening, often much of the best inventory has already been claimed.

TJ Max is THE place for holiday shopping for sure!! Everything you want is here!…read more I especially like their holiday gift sets that they place on tables right as you walk in - pretty much for any budget from $5, $10, $15, $20 and higher. We went today and bought a few gift items for those secret Santa / yankee swap gifts and holiday parties. Got a really nice "book" box of assorted teas 60 teabags for 9.99! A chocolates and cookies Ghirardelli's gift set for $20, an Italian chocolate box for $7 and a small box of Belgian chocolate for $5. Also picked up some snacks - moose munch caramel popcorn and a last minute checkout aisle grab of Cuddl Duds socks 4 pair pack for $10. Came home and wore them - very soft and warm cozy! Also got an arabbiata pasta sauce jar. Oh and a festive table runner for $17. Cashier was friendly and helped while I was loading our bags. Restroom was actually not too bad. When I asked the cashier if they had any other styles, she said no, but as I was leaving I noticed dozens of other gift cards displayed elsewhere in the store. By then, I didn't have time to wait again. The cashier seemed either poorly trained or just didn't care to help, which made the whole experience frustrating and a waste of time.

Feels: I'm not too familiar with Boston, but I was told this is one of the original areas of the city. There are lots of businesses and apartments nearby, so the neighborhood feels lively. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall: 5 stars. They had exactly what I needed, right when I needed it. If you're looking to refresh your wardrobe on a budget or find some unique costume pieces, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. And yeah, the majority of the clothing here is all use. But like I always do- I buy my stuff, take it home (or the cleaners), wash it and it snaps back looking like new.
