So when I come across a fabulous location, I don't know how to act. My bestie had been telling me how wonderful this Decatur store was for a while and I finally went out of my way to be sure I popped my head in recently. What a win. I actually had a few items on my list so that I didn't go in wandering aimlessly. But somehow, I still did just that. You can't help it! It's so spacious in there! The store was so quiet and peaceful, incredibly clean and so organized. I felt like everytime I went down one aisle, there was another row of 3 right next to it. Each aisle was filled with items I hadn't ever seen at a DT, all neatly laid out in their places. A really incredible selection of goods from office supplies, home goods, food and so much more. There were only 2 out of 3/4 lanes open with a few customers in the queue, but the team moved swiftly and were incredibly kind. (S/O to Ms. Johnetta!) Since the dawn of time, I've been loving Dollar Tree and all of its wonders. As a lover of DIY and projects, I always pop in to grab little pieces of my idea. Whether its cute Santa mugs for my annual hot chocolate cart, movie theater style candy for my movie cart (why do I have so many carts? lol), or just items such as tape or scissors! Now, this $1.25 price change is extremely foolish and I want them to do better. But, life goes on. This location is... okay. :D I will say that they are always well-stocked! Tucked into a busy plaza, it's not the prettiest location but that goes into a bigger conversation that has nothing to do with this review. There's ample parking since it's next door to a Kroger, so you'll never run out of spots to park before you head in. Expect that you may run into some solicitation on your way to the door, but, it happens! The store is usually busy but not too crazy unless it's a holiday, so it's great to walk in and not be cramped up. The aisle are a bit tight and sometimes cluttered, but nothing crazy that I haven't seen before. It works! I do always try to hype up great customer service when I receive it but sadly, I haven't experienced too much of that at this location. No terrible interactions, but it ain't Publix, lol! I recently went in to exchange some items when I overbought for a charitable event and seriously didn't need all of them. So of course, I want to return them or exchange them! Being a Dollar Tree superfan, I know that you can exchange/return an item just like any other store, I'm not new there lol. So when I received eye rolls and heavy frustration from the more senior employee when I requested the exchange, I stuck my ground despite the energy being tossed out. I felt bad for the younger employee who ended up checking me out, as that same employee literally stood over her shoulder fussing at her and telling her she was wrong. Like, I just came here to spend my lil dollar! Lol But either way, I'm sure I'll be back since they are in the neighborhood but I will stop expecting Target vibes at Dollar Tree. :)

For intown shoppers that have been forced to endure the long checkout lines and the lack of stock at the one in the Center-Cities Kroger shopping plaza, just go another mile north on Metropolitan Parkway to the old Lakewood Plaza area and just 3 businesses down from Wendy's is a nice new Dollar Tree with 15 isles of merchandise and a frozen food department in the back. Employees are very helpful and pleasant. This store has a large parking lot too. Be sure to exit at the side street St. John's Ave. that has a stop light or you could find it difficult to exit directly on to Metropolitan Pkwy especially during rush hour. This is store # 5242 and is open 9AM until 9PM 7 days a week.

Walking in the lovely Ms. Ayana was greeting everyone and offering to help. The store is VERY VERY organized and fresh. It's was nice to come in a dollar tree and not have to walk over things and wreck my brain to find something that suppose to be there. That's how I new it was a new location.
