Their hours are ridiculous. Went today at around 1:00 pm. Guess there was a sign on the door that said closed until 3:00 pm. They had customers inside they were trying to get out. Cashier said the sign on the door said closed until 3:00. Tons of people were coming up but they didn't want anyone's business. I just drove down the street and gave my business to Dollar General. I won't be back to this store again. Rude, slow employees. Pay your employees better and you will get a better quality of employees. read more

It is definitely understaffed, which is understandable at this time. The aisles were messy and not stocked, but the back room door was wide open and you could see plenty of things that were ready to be put on shelves but only one staff was working the counter with a never ending line it seemed. read more

Based on the older reviews - something has really changed. This store was very clean and packed full of new items. The employees were helpful and always courteous. I went there one day, tried new items, liked them, and went back today for more. Told my daughter to go there to get great supplies. This place is a mess. The shelves are bare except for the trash that doesn't belong there. The floors are full of trash and there are carts of stock in sealed boxes everywhere. When I have asked for help it is suggested the items I want will be on the next truck... In reality, who knows, it could have been on the last three trucks! They don't stock the shelves. read more

Just spent nearly 35 minutes waiting in line. While the entire store opened hours late. With only two cashiers. And the entire building had reach its maximum capacity. Two lines both probably an hour wait. And finally we get to the front of the line and the poor cashier calls for a manager because she had a phone call. Now that's when I lost it. This entire time the manager was in the back doing god knows what. Good business means drop everything you're doing especially with the amount of people in line. And HELP YOUR EMPLOYEEs. The managers name is Betty and I plan on calling cooperate to report such a poor management. To Betty. You need to help your employees. Especially on a Saturday. The rudest cashier ever! Black woman with short blonde wig not saying hi, thank you...nothing! Very rude to a Hispanic woman asking about balloons, shaking her head at the customer and raising her voice. An older woman came in asking about a cart and the cashier yelled across the store, "they are in the parking lot, go get one". I gave the woman my cart. I was disgusted by this cashier, I will NEVER return! And 1 worker in the entire store with the line to the back of the store. Good location; employees are usually friendly. The store is usually clean and not too crowded. They also offer $1.00 Sunday papers on Monday and throughout the week until the next Sunday paper comes. This is 50% off! So sometimes I buy a few of those for the coupons inside. They have a good selection and the parking lot is usually only about half full. read more

Okay, so I am 29 years old and had never, ever been to a dollar store. I was fine with that. Yet, somehow, I ended up here this past weekend. Let's just say that I hope it's another 29 years until I am back in a dollar store, if they're all like this. I don't think they are, because my fiance said this one was bad compared to others she had been to, but still. So, everything is $1. That's great. Some stuff is decent - Kleenex (actual Kleenex, not "facial tissues"), candy, stuff like that...brand name for $1. However, most stuff is pretty awful. The place seemed horribly understaffed, with unhappy people who hate every moment of their work. The fellow customers were loud, annoying, and had no qualms about pushing you out of their way. Amazing, polite employees. I go here all the time. The only problem I have is seeing the customers abuse those employees. I work retail myself, and I know that the store is only messy because the customers put stuff back where they dont belong and leave trash behind them. A couple days ago I watched a mean old lady come in angry and screaming because her balloon blew away. She threw a young employee into a panic attack and it wasnt even the employees fault. The employee had to leave his register to recover. Another time, I watched a man scream at an employee because they forgot 1 penny from their change. The store was busy and it was just a penny! I was in the store this morning. There were black stains all over the floor. There was items thrown all over the floor. Noithing was stocked. I was just really shocked by how bad the store was this morning. I will go further down the street and shop at a differet, cleaner store. A very dirty location. I was not impressed. It looked like nobody had vacuumed in months and the store just looked in disarray. Nothing was zoned which caused frustration when I needed to go through piles of crap and broken merchandize to find what i needed,they didn't have much of what I was looking for. I used to love shopping at this store but it is unbelievably trashed every time I go there now. It's been a problem for over a year now. I called to report it to the main office in Va. and it was somewhat better for a about a week. The carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years and there is always trash on the floors. Unopened crates of boxes in the aisles. Who runs this place? I think you need better employees who can clean up instead of standing around waiting for a customer. A disappointed customer. read more

The place is disgusting, and the employees are mean lately, they leave only one person to fend off all of the buyers, while they run outside for a smoke, I was in line yesterday and a lady clicked off her light as I was the next person and said, I have no bags so go to the next line, OMG, what kind of owner doesn't pay for enough plastic bags? I was recently in the Olathe store and it was a pig sty. The shelves were almost all bare and there was debris on the floor. Many aisles had boxes waiting to be stocked but I couldn't see an employee except for the check out people. This store is a mess and has really bad management. Excellent selection for a cheap price. Some things are a rip-off for a dollar since you can get them cheaper at Wal-Mart or Aldi, but some items are a GREAT deal. Employees are usually friendly, but sometimes slow checking out so the line gets long. Their floor is gross. Someone needs to tell them about an invention called a vacuum. Also, for some reason this is a store where children run around free and throw stuff on the floor and get in others way. I still go here a lot of the deals, but I the Dollar Tree on 87th Street Parkway is a lot better if you live closer. read more
