Completely picked through merch- high prices. Virtually no vintage. Go to any other thrift or flea market for good choices.

My husband and I stopped in to this particular Savers while in the area to look for some books. This is a very busy thrift store. We noticed upon entering that it was not very cool inside. It is the summer and steamy outside, and it felt awful on the inside. Not like the air is broke, but like they're trying to be cheap on running the air conditioning. My husband went to one area and I went to the books and toddler clothing area. While I was in both areas, I kept smelling some awful smell, which can only be described as body odor and urine. I kept thinking maybe someone nearby was smell smelling like that. But as I moved throughout the store, I figured out the whole store smelled awful. My husband found me in the area I was at and he said that the store smelled awful and I hadn't even said anything to him. The smell was stuck in our nose for 30 minutes, at this point I feel like the health department needs to visit to find out what is going on. It was just awful and I would recommend avoiding that store! read more

Always find the best deals here! One stop shop for all things Halloween costumes! Love how all the clothing is color coordinated (all blues, reds, blacks, pinks, etc...together) so easy to find what you're looking for. Usually always clean and tidy. Can find name brands like Lucky Jeans for under 10.00 most the time below 8.00! Found some Pampered chef bakeware for $1.99 each! read more

Dust bunnies all over the floor so you can get it on your clothes if they actually fall but mostly good finds. The toy section is a mess but kids are always playing over there so it's probably hard to keep clean. You need a key for the bathroom now but that kinda makes sense since it was NASTY before. read more

I must leave a rare, one-star review, because this Savers location does not have dressing rooms. This makes the store un-shoppable for me. For a retail store that's inventory is about 90% clothes, I don't see how you can do business without giving customers the opportunity to try things on. To add insult to injury, like most thrift stores, you cannot return items for a refund. One small pro is that they will allow you to return items for a store credit. But, I often buy dozens of items on a single trip, and I simply cannot gamble with that many items not fitting right. I won't consider Savers for any clothing purchases unless or until they bring back their dressing rooms. read more

Purchased dvds today and they were either missing or severly scratched. No returns they said. On top of that this place is full of scumbag dealers. These people should be banned!!! It has everything! This is by far the best thrift shop in KC! It is expensive, but I use my 20% off coupons regularly. I can always find what I'm looking for here. Their toy section is amazing. Some of the things I've bought recently include a Dooney & Burke purse, Duplos, punch bowl, ice maker, jeans, Nikes, Bibles, and collectibles. read more

No. I know thrift stores supposedly help people. I know they have to pay rent, payroll, etc., but the prices here are ridiculous. I had a coupon for $10 off a $20 purchase and even at that discount, things were too high. You could buy better quality items at local consignment stores than the over-priced garbage here. read more

There was a time I absolutely loved shopping at Savers. Lately, the prices are absolutely ridiculous! They think they're a department store! Everybody walking out is griping about the prices! They get their products for free and they price them so high. Consignment stores give consigners cash for their items, then the consignment store will sell them for a reasonable price. Consignment store prices are much less than Savers! Nobody will ever understand how Savers gets everything for free and sells it at a Department store price or higher as if the items they sell are new. read more

Prices here are entirely too high. I like to thrift to save money and support upcycling but I also refuse to be taken advantage of. I regularly hit thrifts in Overland Park and how a thrift store in Olathe thinks they can double OP prices and expect people to buy from them is beyond me. I kid you not about doubling prices. I'm only giving one star because I have to give something. I wouldn't even rate it one star if I didn't have to. I used to frequent this store weekly even though there was a big hype about it not being honest with the for profit/ non-profit status. I also worked around the outrageous high prices by using coupons & only going on discount days. Today I was confronted by the manager as I was shopping & was asked to leave & not return ever again. When I asked what the reason was, he told me that he was not at Liberty to disclose his reasons. This was the final straw for me. To demand that & then to not have the balls to say why. That's absolute ludicrous! They can keep their over priced second hand crap & shove it where the sun doesn't shine. If that's how businesses are run these days then the world is going to be in for a surprise when other people find out how customers are treated. I regret even spending any of my hard earned money in that business. I will also make sure everyone I know hears about how they treat customers there. What has the world come to? read more

This is another place that I've driven by several times and was unsure of whether it was a grocery store or something of that nature. Today I was afforded the chance to come in and check it out. I find it is a thrift store. Now first let me say, and I am very picky about thrift stores because I am a thrift store Junkie. So if you're going to be a thrift store you got to have your game stepped up. That being said, I love the location it is easy to see from the road. the signage is huge and visible. The best thing about this store is the neat and clean way it is kept up. Shopping carts are right at the door when you come in neatly put away. You don't have to search for one, they're right there when you enter the door. The Isles are easy to go down free of debris and all items are neatly put on the shells and labeled so that you know exactly what you're looking for as you go down the aisles. They even have a restroom that you can use and believe it or not this is a big issue when I go to thrift stores. Any store that doesn't allow me access to a restroom when I'm in their establishment to spend money, is a store I can't do business with. So it was good to see that a restroom was available for customers. The selection of items I feel could have been better. Especially the furniture and clothes. The home decor and office supplies was absolutely great, but the furniture was the bigger disappointment. I saw couches that were five different shades due to multiple stains that weren't clean. I saw tables that look like they were standing on their last leg and chairs that it had so many butts sitting in it and it look like if one more went in it would all come tumbling down. These were the items that which is way overpriced. Why would I pay $100 for a chair that can't hold me. When I can go get a brand new one for that much that will. As for the clothing it is the same scenario no matter what store you go to. Unless the store specializes in plus size clothing, you are at a loss in finding that particular type of clothing. I found no plus-size clothing in the store. The highest size I saw was a size 14 and that is a medium woman's size. It does upset me that I keep running into this problem in various stores, but it's a problem that I can't blame solely on savers. To not accommodate plus size women is a problem that's been going on for years. You would think as many overweight people we have in this world, there would be more accommodation to our sizes or likes and dislikes. There is one good note to all of this, on this trip I did snag a rare find. I collect porcelain dolls, and I was actually able to find a black ballerina doll. That is truly something I didn't expect to find and I couldn't pass it up and it was only $6. The gist of this is I have so many other options for thrift shopping and this store is actually very far away from where I live so my chances of coming back here are very slim, but if I do come back, I would only come for a rare find. something that I know I will never find in another thrift store. But if I'm looking for clothing for myself, there's just nothing to accommodate my style, or my needs...so the rare find is the only pull for me to be a saver. read more

If I could give it Zero stars I would. This is a For-Profit thrift store. That means, they ask for direct donations of our used goods, sell it and keep the profit. That's right, zero dollars from the sale of our items goes to charities. They have a bin inside the entry to the store where you can place items that are to go to "Big Brothers and Big Sisters" but again Zero $ from the sale of any items in the store go to any charity. By law they have to disclaim this. So next time you think to give them your stuff (verses taking it to a Non-Profit ((aka charity organization)), take a peek inside the Saver's entry. You cannot miss the bin or the sign that clearly states what I have just informed you. Note: this sign is not visible from the donation lane outside where you are directed to leave your items. Literarly pennies on the dollar go to charities but they can still claim they are supporting one. And the charities like Big Brother and Sisters are probably greatful to get anything, but it isn't right. Shame on you Saver's for taking advantage of good people just trying to help. If you call and ask they simply say "yes we support a charity" but I bet you can't get them to give you more then that. It's ok if you doubt me, just DO NOT DONATE TO SAVERS. read more

If you want discounted stuff that is well organized. Then this is the place for you! I use to frequent the savers in the old Bannister Hypermart (remember those days?) shopping lot. I was excited to see one in Olathe. This doesn't have as much a super discount as those days past, but there are some. I enjoy the simple looking through the organized items. I mainly go here to drop of items for them to sell. All the profits go to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Just drive up and over the bell line and someone comes out to meet you. Drop off your items and get a receipt. You also get 20% of coupons on purchases and sometimes they do punch cards. Super clean and easy to find stuff inside. I have found some great items for Halloween and Theme parties here. I agree with the others on prices. They are hit and miss. Some of the items you can get new on sale and some are steals for the price. You just have to be willing to take the time and look. read more

As far as thrift stores go, Savers is awesome. I love hitting thrift stores to look for things to photograph, for eclectic containers to use as planters, and old cookie jars. The selection was lacking in these areas today, but there was a large Frankenstein with a candy dish in the top of his head that tempted me. They have some sort of savers club that you get discounts with after so many stamps, but it expires after a certain amount of time. read more

Came here in search of an "ugly Christmas sweater" to wear to a party. The store is huge compared to the Good Will across the street. They have much more than clothes too: shoes, dvds, books, and home goods. They also have a fitting room. I do agree with others that it's clean, organized and staff is decent. I also agree that prices were a bit high for the second hand items. Also most of the clothes smelled like mothballs. This place is certainly worth a look if you're in the market for second hand items at a low price. read more

I appreciate that they recycle clothing/fabric but I recently found out that any large items/furniture that doesnt sell within 3 days gets thrown in a dumpster!!!! Also, their "fundraising drives" for scouts & such have become more of a bonus money maker for select employees & the scout/church groups get less and less read more

Seems overpriced for a second-hand store. Many household items are barely at a discount. However, the selection is good. Big store that is pretty well organized considering. It was busy today when I came in on a Friday afternoon. I did end up finding a couple reasonably priced household items, although they definitely seemed to be the exception. read more

as a former employee of savers there are many times where if we suspect that you are stealing or switching tags we will over price it. The managers also talk bad about the rude customers behind there back. Some of the stuff is way overpriced and we know it but we will still tell you we cant take the price down. Now for the work environment the mangers do not care about their employees mental or physical health and they will overwork us no matter how much we tell them we need our hours cut. They also do not do anything when you tell them you need accommodations and when you bring in a doctors note they will deny it. Overall we have some cute stuff sometimes usually pretty cheap but please be careful. Make sure you can show that something is not worth what they are pricing it as and keep in mind what kind of establishment you are supporting. i would definitely recommend you go to the Overland Park location. They have a lot more to choose from and they employees are much nicer. read more

The store is clean for a thrift store and the staff is friendly but the prices are just to high. You can get used clothing and other goods for way less at garage sales and Goodwill. The main reason people go to a 2nd hand store is price. If you are selling your goods for what they sell for on Ebay why go. Heck some of their stuff is more then Ebay. The only time I will go to this place is when they have a everything is 50% off day which is on some holidays. Other then that don't waste your time going to this store to pay for overpriced used goods. read more

This place is so organized. Most of the clothes are arranged by color. Sizes are clearly marked. There's a section of books, housewares, and accessories, like sunglasses and jewelry. There were also several dressing rooms. We found exactly what we were looking for (decade costume) and got in and out of there in no time. read more

I am here often, mainly because Im a thrift store junkie and this is the closest store to me. The manager (older, short, lady) SO RUDE, the first time we had an issue was because i was nursing my child in the store and she shamed me for it. She stood there and talked to a coworker about how "gross" it was. Then we had another AND ANOTHER issue. She is very very rude and i wish they would just fire her. I have been going to the Olathe Savers for quite a few years now and have always enjoyed my experience. I even go when they don't have their Member sales and also buy in the houseware sections which is never included in their sales. I never use their dressing rooms and whatever doesn't fit gets donated back to them. However, when I went there a couple of days ago they told me that if I would like my purchases bagged it would cost extra. Maybe if there prices weren't more than the average thrift store or if there was some type of notice to let me know I would feel differently. I will no longer shop there because of this. read more

I had absolutely awful customer experience at Savers. I asked what the return policy was when I checked out, and I was told it was 7 days with tags and receipt. When I came back 3 days later to return two items, I was told it was an EXCHANGE policy only. Seeing how I was told incorrectly by one of their employees, I asked to see a store manager to see if this could be amended...to no avail. It wasn't my fault that I was told return and not exchange, and it wasn't the manager's fault either; it was the original employee's fault. I just am very disappointed that the manager did nothing to right the wrong. They will no longer be receiving my business. I have been noticing a trend of items being overpriced anyway so it's no great loss in my opinion, other than the $25 I forfeited to them because of this VERY poor customer service incident. read more

One of the more expensive discount stores, but they majority of clothes are in good shape. If I was going to buy a $20 coat, though, I would buy it new rather than a used one. The prices seem to go up every year. There are some steals if you can find them. The store is really clean and they do organize the section really well. The store manager was rude and acted like she was bother with the questions I asked about the items I was buying. Usually everyone is nice and friendly, but not this one. Her attitude was "Just pay for the stuff and get out of my way." Don't ask for a reasonable price on a DONATED pair of jeans with a whole in them. I realize they are brand name but 12.99 for a pair of jeans in need of being fixed before they can be wore is over the top. Don't ask for a punch card because you definitely won't get it. And don't try to return something, be aware once you buy it, you're stuck with it. Yes, they say you can return it, but at the bottom of your receipt (which come after you pay) they will point out the exchange policy. I WILL NEVER LET MY OR ANYONE IN MY FAMILY'S SHADOW DARKEN SAVERS DORRSTEP AGAIN. I found one pan I was going to buy for $3.99, the only item I could find I thought was a good deal and get to the register to pay for it and they said it had the wrong price and I could buy it for 7.99 !!! I used to frequent Savers for kids clothes - but their prices have gotten higher and higher. I can almost buy new at Walmart for the same price. It tics me off every time I go back, because this stuff is all donated for free - and then they are trying to make almost retail prices for things. Went in to look for picture frames and saw 2 of them brand new with store price inside glass for $2.00 and savers had $4.99 on each of them, how is that? There are tags on some of the clothes also but not much of a discount for them. Walmart had a girls shirt for $3.97 and savers had 1 used for $5.00 know your brands and prices before looking. read more
