So far no complaints. One of the newer more cleaner stores. Decent variety compared to other stores. Obviously sane prices.

Stopped by at 11:10 this morning. Bunch of cars outside waiting and store isn't open. Hours say 11-7. Tried calling and no answer.

This is a chain that buys customer returns and end-of-season items and sells them at a discount. Think Amazon returns, overstock or out of season Target items, etc. Then, everything is dumped into bins for folks to look through: it's not even sorted into "soft" and "hard" like at the Goodwill bins. But the perk is, everything is new with tags / barely used! The pricing is unique - it goes: $10 Fridays $7 Saturdays $5 Sundays $3 Mondays $2 Tuesdays $1 Wednesdays 25c Thursdays We came on a Sunday and found a few items: an electric beard trimmer, a plant pot, an outdoor rug, Duke Cannon soap. However, I would say if I were to come back, I'd probably come on either $10 Friday hoping for a bigger ticket item, or on Tuesday/Wednesday because most stuff just wasn't worth $5. Lots of plastic items, cheap items and felt too small/cheap for $5. There were lots of clothes, but they were mixed in with the hard goods so hard to go through, and most were Target or Amazon brands so didn't see much value in going through them on $5 day - for me at least. If you're looking for kids toys and stuff, household decor and trinkets, acrylic organizers, and gifts - this is a great place to stock up on the cheaper days! Super interesting to look through. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, but very interesting!

They have such an interesting variety of food, and, as someone who is nowhere near being Eastern European, I thought it was super cool to see all of these foods I had never tried. If you love chocolate like I do, come to this store because they have a fine selection of European chocolates for great prices. Kinder bueno, anyone? If you haven't tried it, you're missing out, just saying. I would also recommend their tea selection, which is also extensive and cheap. They have everything you'd expect in a specialty grocery store, from spices to meats, from canned foods to sweets/snacks that you definitely wouldn't be able to find at any American grocery store. It truly is an excellent selection. Whether or not you are familiar with the foods, I highly recommend checking this place out. Seriously, the chocolate selection alone will knock your socks off.

I live close to this Hy-Vee, use it's pharmacy, do some in store shopping here, and have wanted to…read moremake it my go to. But there are a few things that could use some work... Here's one example. I tried the Aisles Online service the other day. What a sh!t show... These guys could really take some lessons from Walmart and Fareway. I placed an order on Sunday for a sheduled pick up of between 300 PM and 330 PM. As of 400 PM I hadn't received a text or an email saying my order was ready so I called into the store... I was told that some of the totes containing items from my order probably hadn't been picked up yet, but to go ahead and head that way in the next hour or so and everything should be ready. Oh hindsight... The "should" in that sentence was the key word. I think it was close to 500 PM when I finally got a text my order was ready. By that time I had driven to the store and pulled into a side lot on the West side of the store over by the loading dock within eyeshot of the Aisles Online pick up area...just sitting and waiting. After getting the message I pulled around and up into a lane at the stand alone Aisles Online kiosk. An attendant came out who asked for my name and then walked back into the kiosk and brought me my order... Well kind of anyway. They put the bags in the back of my car and turned to walk away... "Woah! There's not enough groceries here to even meet the minimum order... Where's the rest of my stuff?" I showed them my phone with the complete order, they checked their ticket, apologized, and went to check on things... Evidently the rest of my order was still up at the store? I watched them run up to the store and return about 15 min later pushing a cart with the rest of my groceries. So my scheduled 300 to 330 PM pick up finally ended closer to 540 PM. At one point I was done and really just wanted to cancel my order and move on with my day. While for other services and shopping I would normally rate this store at 4 stars my recent Aisles Online experience was so bad (1 or 2 stars) that I'll even my overall review out to 3 stars. They really need to look at their online ordering and pick up model compared to other retailers (where I've NEVER had this happen)... And step up their game. It was truly awful.

The Picker Knows is one of those places... Probably the premier, and my favorite, antique "mall" in the Des Moines metro! Rows and rows of vendor booth and cases. I'd hate to total the money up that I've spent here... And buying is great, but a lot of times I just have fun window shopping. Looking at the many different things here that I can't afford or have no business spending money on... Lol Very large display items, furniture, antiques, retro and vintage, some modern, a few clothes, comics, vinyls, Hot Wheels, some dusty and rusty things, handcrafted items, and tons of smalls! Prices are vendor driven. So some are high, some are at market, and there are great deals to be found here too. As a veteran I appreciate the veteran's only parking spot near the front door. At only 55 I pass it up a lot because there are veterans in A LOT worse shape than I am. But I have used it a couple of times. It's so easy to spend hours here! Vendors leave and new vendors fill their slots. And with the merchandise being vendor provided...the selection is ever changing! The staff is fantastic and always available for questions or to open a case! The bathrooms aren't terrible for this environment. They aren't perfect...pretty plain Jane...but they don't send you running for the hills. Lol The Picker Knows is a must stop in the Des Moines metro if you are into antiquing or thrifting!

I was here because my Nephew was getting married next door at the Decades Event Center. I believe that both spaces were once a Dahl's Grocery Store. Since I was early and the pictures I was in were taken, I had some time to wander about. I love looking around antique stores and this place certainly had a lot of space and individual "consignment" booths. In situations like this, my eyes glaze over as I keep walking. In my head is Gayle saying - "Where are you going to put this crap?". In my heart is the preference of finding some unique peace that I can convince myself that I can't do without. I finally purchased a cool heavy metal Iowa-themed belt buckle for $15. That was after my go-to shopping targets of knives, pens, and old publications came up empty. I also find that I'm good for about 30 minutes in an antique store, and them I have to get out. If there's a next time, I'm sure inventory will be different, so who knows what might appear!
