On Saturday we had to loan my wife's car to my sister in law , she blew up hers with a blown head gasket and a cracked block . Well wouldn't you know it my wife's car would not start . Purchased a washer on Jan 29, 2026. DSM metro. Delivery date of NLT Feb 11th shown on receipt. Price for washer same as most competitors but with delivery and haul away included. I also had $300 in gift cards, the deciding factor. Washer arrived locally in 4 days, but Sams' delivery service, RXO, couldn't schedule delivery until Feb 27th. 28 days after purchas. Unsat for an appliance delivery. They also couldn't provide a time frame until later. That later turned out to be the night before. I'm retired but someone working is being asked to take an entire day of vacation, PTO, loss of pay, or sick leave for a delivery that they didn't confirm until the night before delivery. What can I say? It's a Sam's club. It's an average Sam's club nothing more or less. Came to get wiper blades and have been a regular customer here. It was easy to get what I needed, but lines are super long unless you do scan and go. The parking lot is a nightmare - it's very very busy and feels overwhelming. The store is clean and bright plus they offer both self check as you go and drive up.No more long lines in the check out. The variety of options here is second to none. I also have s as Costco card but the selection isn't even close to Sam's. If you have the plus card you also generally can get free delivery too. They have some of the best fresh fruit, meat, fish and liquor for the best prices in town. The gas is Almost always less expensive that anywhere else in town and that makes me very happy too. I am a single person but I use this all the time. The quantity thing isn't an issue for me at all. The plus membership also gives you cash back from your purchases. Why is buying in bulk such a siren's song? And now with the app you can quickly compare prices to make sure it is worth buying in a larger quantity. Speaking of the app, I absolutely love the scan and go! I live close by so don't necessarily buy a ton when I make a trip so its quick and easy for me to scan items then check out using my phone instead of waiting in line. The savings I get from cheap milk and lower priced gas more than makes up the price of the membership each year. read more

When I lived in Des Moines I was a regular shopper both here and at Costco. I prefer Sam's for personal items, some food produce and most paper products. I've found that the quality between Costo and Sam's is usually pretty evenly matched, but I've often seen different brands offered at the two chains, so my habit is to alternate between both. On the other hand, I've found the cashier's at Sam's to be much friendlier, but the cashiers at Costco have usually been faster and more efficient - it's good to have multiple memberships ;-) read more

Overall this Sam's Club is pretty good! When they're not under construction (as they are at the time of this writing) you can find what you need with little effort. I seldom have a long line at the registers, but I also tend to shop during work hours or weekend mornings. When they have a working orange juicer, it's the best thing ever! I can get a gallon of the fresh stuff and finish it off in two days! Around lunch time they do have a lot of samples, if you're interested in trying a few things you may not have before. The reasonable prices for large items keep us coming back. It's not the type of store that will take care of all of your shopping needs, but it's a great place to get a significant start! read more

Covid-19 review: For starters, unlike Costco, Sam's Club doesn't seem to have many safety measures set in place aside from closing the sit-in dining area and taking away the self-service drink machine. Barely anyone in the store (customers) wore masks nor did they adhere to social distancing guidelines of 6 ft apart. Sam's also doesn't limit the number of people allowed in the store (Costco also only allows 2 people in per membership) so it was PACKED when we went, you couldn't have stayed 6 ft away from someone if you tried. It was also super busy while we were here and lines to check out went pretty far into the actual aisles since they only had 2 or 3 registers open. The aisles to check out do have the 6 ft apart stickers on the floor to encourage social distancing but of course no one followed those either and no employees really seemed to want to care to enforce any of it so there was really no point anyway. Overall, I would definitely choose Costco over Sam's any day. Better product, better customer service, and just overall nicer stores. We just went because this location was better for the time we had, but I don't think I'll be back. read more

I stopped at Sam's Club on weekend in December to pick up one thing. I would normally try to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds but here I was. As I breezed on out past everyone waiting in the long line I wanted to stop and shout "Use the Scan and Go option on the App!" I'm not sure why more people don't do this. You can scan and pay right on your phone and skip the checkout altogether. I do this quite a bit to pick up just enough food for 1-2 nights dinner. They have great prices on Rotisserie chicken which can then quickly be turned into so many different meals.. read more

Poor man's Costco is what this is. Like a Walmart to Target comparison. There are great frozen foods here for munchies like pizza bagels, pizza rolls, and all kinds of other guilty pleasures. Otherwise, they need to do a better job taking care of the place. Half the display TVs are either off or broken. Not a good customer experience when displays are not on. Food court was pretty bad. Chicken nuggets were so bad I threw them away. Fries were not available. Hotdog was good and pizza was ok. More options than Costco in the food court but all were a fraction of the taste of Costco. Liquor section is better here than Costco. Tons of options. So yeah. If you like warehouses this paired with Costco will meet all your needs. But if I was to pick one, this would not be it. read more

Great place to shop! I was always a Sam's Club guy and not really a Costco guy. They have great items here in bulk and obviously great prices! Not only is the shopping experience great here, but their food is awesome! I never leave here or start shopping without having a slice of pizza and hotdog. I'm a Sam's Club fan. I really am. Back home, that's where I always buy my milk, eggs, and bread (for the kids of course), and whatever else I may need. I would take my sisters here on Saturday afternoons so we can enjoy the samples. If I need any assistance, an employee is always ready to help. Unfortunately, with this Sam's club, it's super difficult to find an employee on the floor. I usually have to venture over to customer service who then won't directly show me where the product I'm looking for is located. The lines get really long at this club as well. The best time to go is in the morning or near close. Afternoons are always super packed. Also, they don't offer too many samples here. read more

Sam's is our go-to for many household items. After an extensive remodel, we are still getting used to where everything is located, but we are quickly getting used to the updates. Staff has been helpful for us when we've had questions about stock. The Scan & Go app is awesome - just scan all of the products as you add them in your cart, and skip the check-out lines altogether. The website has also been helpful in helping us identify what's in stock at the area stores before we drive there. The gas discount that comes with the membership is awesome as well! read more

So this place is getting pretty fancy. One of the newest things you can do is scan your own items and pay for them on your app and just...leave. So I love that feature, not everyone wants the additional human interaction. As for the store, its huge as you would expect with a bulk store. I love the variety of items, fresh produce, and large selection of frozen items. Everytime I come in, I can find a new items rather it be a new frozen items or even new items in their ready to eat aisle, I have no doubt anyone can find what they are looking for here. This Sam's is ok. Sometimes it's difficult to find an employee to help. The lines get pretty long. I'd like to see more express lanes. All I get when I come here is chicken wings and mixed nuts. I'd like to check out a little faster. Other than that, this place is a bargain. My chicken wings are a pound for about $9-10 at Hyvee. Here, I can get 5 lbs of the same brand for $16.98. Love Sam's club! The deals you can find here are great! Associates are friendly and store is laid out well. Items are easy to find and good quality. Especially their furniture. Their bakery selection is great!!! Only issue is their parking lot is that it links up to Walmarts lot so if it's busy getting in is a nightmare. I love Sam's club for all the things it is. I used to have a Costco membership and hardly ever used it. We saw they had a groupon for Sam's club and decided to give it a try and ditch Costco. That was the best move to make. We use our Sam's club almost weekly for stuff around the house. The store is always stocked to the guilds with things we could use around the house. The bulk freezer items are great to store in the deep freezer at home. They have a great meat selection and a huge seafood area. They have a great selection of quick fix foods they prepare and then you take home to cook and make a fast meal out of. We use the pharmacy here for all of our prescription needs. We get our pets meds and the meds for us all in one place. The middle section has a huge selection of random seasonal items. They also have a great electronics department. If I had one complaint is that when you walk in someone is always trying to lure you in to talk to you about some cell phone plan you dont really want or need. They can be quite persistent and annoying if you dont just walk away. read more

Terrible misrepresentation of there membership Told me if I upgraded wouldn't have to pay for my renewal fee . Flat out lied !!!! I trusted her my bad..After readings the fine print realized that you get 10 dollars for every 500 spent towards your renewal.. She sold this to me saying it would pay for my renewal by upgrading 2 weeks before it would expire so I would of had to spend 2500 dollars in 2 weeks.. Scammers read more

While you can't really go wrong with a good bulk store the process my family had to go through with this store, and Sams Club in general, was enough to put anyone off. We used to be regulars here, but at one point an employee stole our family membership card. The employee then made fake checks and racked up about 900$ in fake checks. Then comes a huge lawsuit and many problems as Sam's club tried to blame and charge our family for said purchases. When it came to light that it was one of their employees who did this Sams Club refused to apologize, refused to take back the charges and ruined our families credit for quite some time. They still tried to make us pay for everything even though it wasn't our checks that bounced and even with clear evidence that their employee had done this. It was this treatment that caused us to abandon a membership altogether and move onto Costco. read more

Where else can you buy anything you want in mass quantity? They always have selection too! From that new bathing suit for summer to a huge jar of olives. Sam's always has new items weekly to peruse. They are the only store I know of that still sells twenty pounds bags of charcoal. Their meat department might have the best quality pork DeMo has to offer. The prices on their fruit is amazing too and the quality always beats any chain grocery store in town. Maybe not Whole foods or Fresh Thyme, but the prices are better. Plus you get double fruit for the same price. Double! They also have organic fruit which I love. No pesticides for me please. The family has been buying cereal here for years. Two huge boxes for the same price as one little box anywhere else. Need frozen before and after school snacks they have a plethora of those. Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, bagel bites, string cheese, and frozen fruit to name a few. I know there's a cost for membership to shop there, but well worth the money!! read more

If you are going to sell computers, how about have someone in the department who can answer customers' questions....or at least say, I'm not sure but let me see if I can find the answer. Terrible service. We had not one, but TWO employees stand there staring at the tablet we were thinking about buying. Neither one could figure out how to turn it on or work it, and honestly didn't seem to care. They eventually just wandered off to have a conversation of their own. Weirdest service I've ever had. We went over and asked the young man again and he just kind of shrugged and said, "I don't know." Thank goodness for our smart phones. We were able get the info online and make our decision. First about the store. Currently it's undergoing yet another renovation, so things are packed to the gills and not organized very well. Normally they are better, although they are consistently out of staple products, so for those looking to buy in bulk on a normal basis you may not be able to get the same stuff all the time. Now onto today's experience. The assistant manager, Felicia, at this store extremely rude and unprofessional. She allows music to be blasted by the checkouts. Today she encouraged one of h her cashiers to 10+ minutes with one customer while they danced and sung, making a spectacle with her gyrations, while the store was extremely busy. When my companion and I approached the manager she said it was for "Moral" extremely snottily. She obviously doesn't care that this cashier is causing her line to move at a third of the speed of the others. I understand wanting to have fun at work, but this lady was way over the top. She was more interested in performing then doing her job. My companion pointed out that things like this and other things are what is causing sams club stores to close, and she replied that they weren't. She obviously doesn't know much about the company because Sams club closed 154 locations in 2016. I know this store is also loosing customers in droves to the Costco and other Sams club. I received her card when I asked for her name. And the way she presented it made it obvious she thought nothing would be done. Customer service is a big zero. Even if she didn't agree with what we had to say she didnt have to argue and be rude.
