The food court was clean and they have Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonalds for coffee options in this mall. Unfortunately there are a lot of independent mish mash stores that seem very empty selling low quality clothing. Overall, the mall is great for running errands and finding one or two things you specifically need.

I have lived by Londonderry Mall my entire life. I've watched it go through many changes and ups &…read moredowns. Before the mall was renovated in 1992, it was very dark and gloomy, but now it's very bright and more modern-looking. The makeover didn't really benefit this mall that much. In fact, in became pretty lame. When Wal-Mart moved here, this brought in tons of traffic, and I would say it's what kept this mall alive. After Wal-Mart left, many great stores closed down, including the GAP. (I still can't forgive them for taking it away from me!) This mall was stagnant for quite some time, but over the past five years, this mall has been slowly improving once again. Some of the best stores are HMV, Sport Chek, Dollarama, Game City, Le Chateau, Payless. Winners, Army & Navy, Coles, Spasation, Shoppers Drug Mart, Purdy's, Save-on-Foods, and The Great Room Company. The Bay is here too, but it's probably the worst one (minimal selection) in the entire city. Oh, and I almost forgot--there's a Library here as well! The mall's food court is the best, since it has big screen TVs, a water wall, and all the fast-food favourites. There's Taco Time, New York Fries, Edo, Booster Juice, Arby's, Orange Julius, Opa!, A&W, and lots more. McDonald's and Second Cup are also in the mall. The customer service area, located in the centre of the mall, is a great place to come for a rest. There's many flat-screen TVs and large comfy chairs and couches. Londonderry Mall has always had a reputation of bringing in many famous people--usually it's something for the kids or a band for the teenagers. When I was a kid, and before the mall was renovated, I saw Richard Simmons! Woohoo. Lucky me. Five years ago, I would have given this mall a two-star rating for sure. Maybe now I am giving it four instead of three, since it's my neighbourhood mall (I'm probably slightly biased), but it has improved considerably. Londonderry Mall is no Kingsway, but it's still pretty awesome.

I got my very first pair of Converse All Star sneakers here for half the price they'd be in another store, and I also got my second pair here for a steal of a deal as well. I've found a few nice shirts and some really nice pants. A lot of the dress pants will say "dry clean only." I've washed and dried both pairs that I bought and nothing happened to them--is this dry clean warning really a big conspiracy? I get lots of socks and underwear at Winners too, Last time, I found this amazing pair that had a comic strip pattern all over it with a hot pink trim! But why does the underwear rack have to be right by the change rooms? There's a chair right in front of it, and half the time there's a guy sitting there waiting for his girlfriend, and I just get a little embarrassed of someone watching me go through underwear. For some reason, I'm okay with broadcasting the type of undies I like all over Yelp--makes total sense, I know. The housewares section is also worth checking out at Winners. There's some great deals on otherwise expensive brand-name stuff like pots and pans. I've seen some really unique items like pink kettles and knights in armour statues. The styles of everything at Winners really varies from really conservative to very funky, so I think practically anyone can come here and possibly find something they'll love.

You wont find the same amount of clothing stock here that you find in City Center and WEM but a big advantage of that is you have far less odd out of fashion items to have to sort through before getting to the good stuff. I will never be a regular shopper but I don't mind it if im in the mall and have some time to kill.

I'm not a hockey fan at all, so I had never been in this store before. A friendly worker (maybe owner) greeted me, when I walked in. They were made so they looked "vintage." Lots of jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, and a whole lot of caps lined the walls. There were a few large displays of Oilers merchandise, like yo-yos, keychains, mugs, pucks, clocks, toy cars--pretty much anything you can think of. Cheap, and not a real cost cutter, and the signed Oiler's gear got sent to the Oiler's store in Kingsway. Which is a joke and we won't go back due to the horrible lack of service, or even acknowledgement that there are actual shopping customers in that store (4 of us). This place, though, was great! Friendly and superior service. Someone get this lady, Faith, to train other staff at other stores. OR fire those ASSHATS at the Oiler's store in Kingsway and get her in there.

Today I was in need of a jewelry box and since there isn't alot of stores in Londonderry that carry a high quality version of this item into the Bay I went. First off the customer service is atrocious. There are so many tills but you will rarely find one with a staff member behind it. I wandered through four sections of the store trying to find somebody and happened across a girl who looked to be going on her lunch break who I then proceeded to pounce on like a jungle cat out of sheer desperation. There is actually a sign at the entrance I came in at that says something to the effect of "don't see it on the floor well then ask us and we can get it shipped to your house" I seriously think under that it should read IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIND ONE OF US....LET THE GAMES BEGIN FOOLS!! Okay maybe im being a bit dramatic here but I REALLY hate The Bay. Anyways back to my jewelry box dilemma...the girl I was talking to looked like a deer in headlights then I hear somebody mutter behind a jewelry rack "oh we only have them at Christmas" Wait what....so there was infact someone working in jewelry but she happened to not be wearing her name tag which is why I didn't notice her at first to make my inquiry. It was just an annoying experience altogether and hearing that they didn't have such a simple item was the cherry on the top of the grumpy sundae. For office clothes and fancy things I totally get the appeal of the Bay but with the exception of the Jessica Simpson line I don't really find alot of things here that suit 1.my lifestyle (mostly casual with the occasional day of dressy casual) 2. My age group (I very rarely see women my age shop here and most of the patterns and styles seem better suited to middle aged women) 3. My preferred price points (I do not have $140.00 to spend on things like a neon green leopard print handbag by Ivanka Trump and even if I did...NO) Thanks but no thanks Bay once a year is more than enough for me....

Much like Ricki's they stock women's work wear as well as casual everyday garments. I do find the emphasis however at Cleo is more on work wear as opposed to their casual clothes. I also find the prices at Cleo to be a bit on the expensive side. They had dresses going for $110.00 here and im quite certain I could have picked up something similar for around $60-$70 over at Ricki's or Reitmans. Also I find the styles here to be a bit better suited to more mature ladies. I think the staff must feel the same way as the associate working at the time of my visit seemed surprised to see me browsing in the store and the conversation that followed after her greeting me seemed a bit awkward and forced. They stock a nice product here but nothing about it really stands out and makes me want to become a regular customer. If you work in an office setting and find you go through your work wear quickly however you might want to consider popping in and taking a look.

Secondly when I went to purchase my shoes the lady became huffy and puffy as I placed my shoes on the counter. She even said under her breath which I wasn't supposed to hear "Really....". She didn't even process my purchases right away, continued gossiping to a co worker and writing stuff down in a book. The co worker yelled out to another worked stating TILL. Someone came to the till saying they could help me, but eventually the lady who I was standing in front of for about 2/3 minutes now was like no I can do it. With complete attitude. She didn't ask me if I found everything ok, honestly didn't even make eye contact. Or how I was today. She continued to gossip with the other co worker how she can't wait for the mall to get busy so management has no choice but to give her all the hours she wants as it will busy. She told me my total, I stated debit and she goes huh?! I repeated myself debit. Through everything in the bag. Didn't hand me the bag and just pushed it towards me. I rather make the trip to Sherwood Park - Emerald Hills as at least they are a little classy compared to the disrespectful girls working there.
