We went through appraisal, inspection and paid earnest money. After they requested extensions on closing more than once, they finally admitted that they could not secure the loan. The day before closing! We lost on our appraisal fee, (which the mortgage company charged $875.00, but paid appraisal co. $375.00), we lost on inspection fee and we lost our earnest money. All because of the actions of MTR Funding. In addition to all this, to date they have never contacted us or will speak to us. They called our real estate broker, but not us. This company is nothing but stress and should be avoided at all angles. They do not come through as they advertise. After speaking to other mortgage companies and attorneys, they indicated that this is a shady company and what they did to us could possibly be illegal.
