    Best fois gras ever :)
    Mike D.

One may say this is nothing special. Simple interior, typical duck menu. Though this place has a unique composition of simplicity, reasonable prices and very good food. Good for a date or dinner with friends. Not too large group, as the place itself is relatively small. My favorites are foie gras for starter (all different sorts, my favourite one is hot one fro the pan) and confit de canard for a second dish (make sure it is not well done!) with bottle of Graves. All dishes are served with baguette to tost and mains mainly with very salty potato. And yes, it is nothing fancy, but still very French and great value for money. For me it became like a habit every time I visit Paris ! It is very popular place, so reservation would be required. There is nothing worse that being lest with the scent of delicious duck and empty stomach!

I found this place through an Internet search and I'm glad I did! Luckily it was within walking distance from our hotel. I made reservations for this place so when we arrived, we were seated right away. My husband had the beef carpaccio and I had the pan fried foie gras. Both dishes were delicious! Service was just ok. We had to flag down the waiter/waitress a few times. For dessert we had the creme brûlée. It was ok, a little too "eggy" for my liking. If I'm ever in Paris again, I will definitely come back here for their foie gras!

This is located in Japanese town of Paris, master welcomed us with some Japanese heartfelt phrases. A variety of foie gras was super as well as well boiled chicken.

If you wanna try out foie gras, this is the place to go. They serve foie gras and duck dishes. I'm a big fan of this restaurant, and have been here two nights in a row. Pan fried foie gras is the best. So does the duck leg stew (in a pot) and Creme brûlée. These three are my favorite. I also buy some foie gras products from the restaurant. Gonna share the taste of France with my family. Delicious food, decent service, and reasonable price, This is the restaurant you MUST to try out in Paris. Highly recommend!

Great service and even better food. It was fun to toast our own bread. I had the duck confit. The crust of the duck had a nice crispy layer for some crunch. One of the few good restaurants open on Sunday.

Recently renovated, the restaurant is attractive, modern yet not stark. Each table features its own toaster, ensuring that your toast will always be hot and done to your liking. To that end, we exercised the toaster with the foie gras and rillettes appetizers. Both dishes were excellent, the foie gras creamy and earthy, the rillettes concentrated with confit flavor. Main courses were very good magret and excellent cassoulet. The latter featured a leg and sausage with an amazing broth and white beans...the beans noteworthy as the perfect way to soak up the broth (not chalky or pasty in the least). The dessert was a very good creme brulee accompanied by equally good coffee. A quibble about the service: following the appetizer, the waiter had us re-use our utensils. This was an unnecessary mis-step in what was an otherwise very good service experience. The wine list was limited and, surprisingly for Paris, not inspiring: I had hoped to have a pinot noir with my duck, but no such selection was to be found. Had the suggested Bordeaux instead and found it to be ok.

We shared a plate of pan fried foie gras and then got the lunch menu of magret de canard, creme brûlée, and a glass of wine.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
