Choice Home Warranty is scratching the bottom of the barrel with this company. I would give zero stars if possible. I have had 3 different interactions with them, and all have been negative. They are extremely unprofessional, faking charges to the HW company that they did not do, then ask for a positive review. He yelled at my tenant and was rude and unhinged when communicating with me. They cancel appointments, pretend they misunderstand communication, and then are confused when you tell them you have found someone else to fix the problem. Dominguez Electric was assigned as part of Choice Home Warranty repair service call for a fuse which kept tripping. When the technician arrived, he collected the $100 Choice service fee then informed me that he was not able to perform any diagnostic or perform any work until Choice approved the claim. He then sat in his truck with his girlfriend for about twenty minutes before departing, citing the claim had been denied. I immediately called Choice who informed me the claim had not been denied and was still being processed. A few days later I noted the claim had been marked "complete" by Choice. When I called to inquire why, they stated it was based on the service technician's notes. I explained multiple times, to multiple Choice representatives through their warranty appeals process, about the deceptive practice and was wholly ignored. Although the electrician performed no work to diagnose the issue, entered fictious notes into the Choice portal which resulted in the claim being denied, Choice's response was that they stood by the notes entered by the Dominguez electric tech. I encourage anyone who has faced similar issues with Choice or Dominguez Electric to file a complaint with the Texas State Attorney General's office for deceptive business practices. read more

Choice Home Warranty scheduled Ricardo Dominguez of Dominguez Electrician to come to my house to assess and fix my electrical panel that almost caught on fire. He was scheduled to come between 7am and 11am. When I reached out via phone to find a more exact time, I was told hang up and text instead. When I text, the person said they couldn't come out until later in the day and blamed the warranty company for messing up the schedule. My husband took off work in the morning to be at the house for the repair and he works 1.5 hrs away. I asked if they could come by 10 and he said he could come at 11. I called the warranty company and they said that all of their contracted work are dispatched through a portal and the contractor chooses the appointment time. However, he still insists that the warranty company is to blame. After he agree to be here by 11, he changed his mind and said he would need to reschedule for the next day. I told him that I did not want to reschedule because I've already been waiting since Saturday to have someone come out and feel uncomfortable waiting longer given the risk involved. Not to mention that I am pregnant and have a young child at home, plus now not being able to use our washer and dryer because that is the part of the panel that almost caught fire. He then said that I just needed to find someone else. When I told him his handling of this was disappointing and unprofessional, he told me I was wasting his time and delaying his work. I have since called the warranty company and asked for a new technician since I have no other choice. Think twice before you consider working with Ricardo Dominguez. He does not take responsibility and doesn't seem to care. read more

Called my extended warranty and they sent this company out to fix two non-functioning outlets. The tech they sent out said the two outlets are probably on a gcfi outlet that no one knows where it is. He didn't attempt to find it or do any sort of diagnostics at all. He just said, find that gcfi outlet and reset it. Did i mention these two non working outlets are on opposite sides of the house and several other outlets outside function perfectly? Completely a scam of a company. read more

This company was dispatched by my home warranty to repair a ceiling fan. The fan couldn't be repaired, so the warranty company approved a new replacement fan. This company never returned to replace the fan; however, they told the warranty company they did! At this point, they collected $60 service fee, then another $70 from the warranty company (for the new replacement fan, which never got installed). I had to submit a new claim...this same company got dispatched and had the nerve to ask for another $60. This company has no integrity, they will lie, and cheat you out of as much as they can. I don't enjoy submitting poor reviews, but since I see similar past ones, I felt it necessary to advise that many of the same issues are still happening. - Choice Home Warranty scheduled Dominguez Electric to fix a ceiling fan. I made myself available on that scheduled day, but no one showed up or called. My text wasn't answered. - The appointment was rescheduled, and the repair itself went mostly fine. A technician replaced the fan, however, the shade provided in the box was the wrong size. He told me he could return in three days with the correct one. - Four days later, I texted a reminder but received no response. One week later, I did so again. The tech said he'd look at his schedule. Nine more days passed. - I reached out to Choice Home Warranty, who kept contacting the technician as well. He told them he'd schedule something but never did. - 26 days after the initial repair, I texted the technician again to simply get the make/model of the fan so I could find and replace the shade myself. I also reminded him he's still expected to come finish the job. He just said, "ok, I'll look," and didn't get back to me again. - Thankfully, Choice was finally able to reassign me to another company. What was a very simple thing turned into an ordeal that someone else had to take care of. Very frustrating experience. read more

Home Warranty of America (HWA) scheduled Dominguez Electric to repair a lantern in front of our house. They sent someone out. But after they left the problem persisted. We contacted both the company and HWA and scheduled three separate appointments to rectify the problem. We were given a four-hour window each day and they never showed. We found Dominguez electric through the Home Depot contractor services needing some recessed lighting installed. We didn't really know what to expect but were extremely satisfied with our experience with Dominguez electric. After we submitted the request via Home Depot, Ricardo called very quickly afterwards and spoke with us about what we were needing and gave us a quote. He also set up an appointment to complete the work for us within 48 hours of our initial request submission. He talked us through what parts we needed. While we were at the store buying the parts- we texted him pictures of some options and he gave us recommendations while we were In the store. He arrived with his brother and began working on our lights. It wasn't a straightforward job since the placement of the lights had some issues including joists and A/C ducts in the way. They worked to make sure we had the placement we wanted despite the obstacles. The pricing was extremely fair (we called and got quotes from other electricians and they said they couldn't match what Dominguez Electric quoted us). Ricardo was friendly, gave us extremely fair pricing, customer support throughout the entire process, and did great work for us. Through my Home Warranty, I hired Dominguez Electric. I was not very pleased with the customer service I received. Dominguez Electric failed to make their appointment and did not call until following day to reschedule. The individual never confirmed they'd be able to make a scheduled appointment in the near future, even after ignoring their initial appt. I took time away from work to make myself available to have my issue resolved. It was a breaker switch out...and I had to hire another electrician to come in and take 5 minutes to swap it out. read more

Real house that was on the strike team before Rick started. Rick came in and did a great job to start. Before I knew it there was something else going on with him and his partner and the job did not end well. A year later I'm still trying to get it past the city. Had to hire a new electrical contractor to get it done. Rick will not respond to phone calls or text messages he is obviously moved on. So I highly suggest if you hire them for your job do not pay him up front and make sure he gets the s*** done. They were sent by my home warranty company to repair a stove exhaust hood. The technician stated that the hood needed to be replaced and I had to purchase the part myself first then I would be reimbursed later. I thought this to be different but stated I will need some time to move some money then I will be able to purchase the part. Once I did so, the company sent 3 young men out who did the work but attempted to charge me a second time. I informed them that they were finishing a previous repair and were not supposed to charge me a second time. Later while I was awaiting reimbursement, I found out Dominguez electric was supposed o reimburse me. Unfortunately, the technician under priced the replacement and now the company is giving me the run around after seeing that he misquoted the part/shipping/tax for the part. I am still awaiting reimbursement a month later. The company is giving me the run around saying they are awaiting approval and not replying with updates. As a disabled veteran, I'm truly disgusted at the lack of professional service of this company. I would not do any business with this company if I could avoid it. They will do all they can to take advantage of a situation and provide dishonorable service to you. That is a fact. read more
